Logan Hall Progressing Quite Well

October 16th, 2022

Fits right in.

He’s not getting a lot of run, but rookie defensive lineman Logan Hall is having a nice rookie season.

He’s playing solid ball. In the win over Atlanta, Hall may have had his best game, including his second sack in the past three games, a quarterback hit and two tackles for loss.

Two weeks ago after the Bucs lost to the Chiefs, Bucs defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers confessed in a press conference that he regretted not getting Hall more snaps.

Hall had the most snaps of his embryonic career against the Dixie Chicks with 38 plays on defense logged, the first time he has played more than half of the defensive snaps (58 percent).

“It makes me feel good knowing [Rodgers] has trust in me,” Hall told Joe last week. “And he trusts me to throw me into the fire and that I will play well.”

Hall wasn’t aware of what Rodgers had said two weeks ago.

The proof is in the pudding as Rodgers was true to his word in getting Hall on the field more. And Hall thinks his workload won’t decrease much when starting tackle Akiem Hicks returns from injury.

“When he comes back, I think it will be around the same,” Hall said. “I think [Rodgers] is going to utilize us in a way to keep fresh legs on the field.”

Another cool thing Hall told Joe was that when he is on the field, he believes at least a third of the defensive line responsibilities is on his shoulders.

Defensive linemen don’t normally ball out as rookies. Oh, it happens but it is not the norm. So Joe thinks it is a very good sign that Hall not only is demonstrating he belongs, but he’s playing solid ball, too.

Play Hall more tomorrow. I like what I see. He plays physical. And Hicks? Bwaaahaaa. He’s a thief. Taking money for nothing. Never had it after his Chicago melt down. Doesn’t now. Won’t.

What we should see tomorrow is something like the 2020 Lions game.

What we’ll probably see if we’re lucky is 2021 Jets game, or if unlucky, 2021 WFT game.

Good to see that someone’s optimistic about Hicks returning to the lineup. I’m not holding my breath on that one.

BTW Joe, any insight into where Hall has been playing along the DLine? Consistently inside next to the NT or have they been moving him around? And if so, where was he lining up when he got his sacks, hits & TFLs?

Remember all the crap you heard about Redskins rookie Chase Young a couple years ago? On his entire career he’s had 15 tackles, 1.5 sacks. Hall is ahead of the curve

Anyone is welcome to correct me.

I’ve definitely seen him being moved around. I think the sack against Atlanta came off the edge, and the week before up the middle. Might be the other way around. Hopefully someone has better memory than I do, to verify what I remember.

    I’ll get right to it.

If Hicks, Julio, JTS and SMB were all cut yesterday, how exactly would anyone notice?

Cut em all now Jason and kick them all to the curb.

This was a great draft class……Hall looks to be a good pick……give him some time….

Pleasantly surprised with Hall. Rookie DT’s don’t usually shine. He’s doing the dirty work and making plays. Get him more reps and see if we can nail down the run D. We miss Suh and JPP in run D it’s taking the young guys time to come together. Get Hall rolling.

His “embryonic career.” That is excellent, descriptive journalism right there, Joe. At least you showed some class and didn’t spew out something like, “the young little spermatozoa…” LOL.

    Go Hall, and GO BUCS!!!

JTS did show a nice spin move to get his sack last week. I hope we don’t have to wait until next season to see the next technique that he works on.

Say what you want but every couple of years Licht has a real solid draft. We may look back a couple of years from now and talk about what a great draft this was. Otten, White, Keif, Goedeke, Hall and now Zyon McCullom are contributing in meaningful ways.

See what happens when they listen to me… 🙂 Im smiling big at this pick!
