Devin White: Have To Bring More “Juice” To The Table

Joe sure didn’t mean to get Devin White ticked off last week.
After the Bucs beat the Dixie Chicks a week ago, in his postgame remarks, White said that sometimes when a defense is dominating an opponent, it can get bored. This, White thought, was why the Dixie Chicks rallied in the second half last week to make the Bucs’ sweat out a closer-than-it-should-have-been win. Here’s the video.
Joe understands (now) that White is peeved the video is on social media. But he did say it.
Joe found out the hard way that White does not like that video.
Unaware White was upset with the video, Joe approached White who was cool enough to give Joe his time. When Joe started asking, White glared and said, “I don’t remember that.” Joe asked again and White repeated, “I don’t remember that.”
Pointing to the video on a phone, Joe said to White, “There’s video of you saying this.” White then asked, not very pleasantly, “Does this have anything to do with the Steelers?”
Joe got the hint. So Joe asked White what he needs to do to ensure his teammates don’t take their eyes off the prize in today’s game. White sounded like Chucky with his answer.
“Play hard,” White said. “Four quarters. Just keep everybody going with a lot of juice and hope they follow along.”
Ah, bringing the juice. And White’s not wrong. If guys are making plays and they are emotionally into the game, that is contagious.
Let’s hope the Bucs have enough juice today not to daydream in the second half about warm island women and fruity tropical drinks in the Dominican.

Diva needs to be benched. He is a flat out liability and once again let’s him Adrenalin and machismo dictate his play. The NFL at large takes advantage of fast, overly aggressive but dumb football players.
Exhibit A = Diva White.
Todd, just to have a chance of a message getting through his thick skull, bench him to start the game tomorrow. Just for the first three plays.
It’s beyond time for this clown to STFU, stop living off of LSU glory days and three games in the 2020 postseason. He’s at the stage now where he should be a lot more consistent. But he isn’t. Talk isn’t going to change that.

Goatfarrmer – I agree white is a liability . In both coverage and run . He is to aggressive on his run fits doesn’t run his feet upon tackle and He always looks like he is trying to rope cattle as opposed to wrapping up.

Benched for three plays. Send him a message he will get no other way. And he’s supposed to be the main man, not just a pass rush specialist. That part needs to be clarified to him from Todd but it won’t happen.

Said this before about White. He has all the Physical tools to be great. But he does lets his mouth overide his ass. A big slice of humble pie would do him and the Bucs a world of good. Im thinking he has been coached but is not taking the coaching. That is benchable territory. Brooks, Sapp and company would not have allowed his crap from him. A current teammate needs to adddress this in a big way! Yes he can blitz but playing linebacker for any team is about way more than sacks. I miss JPP 🙂

“You idiots” was literally one person above. But since you brought up pass rushing, he blitzed like 200 times last year and netted 3 sacks. Do you think that is good? He was better the year prior, and he missed games that season. He could be way better.

This kid has lived off his athleticism in the NFL which means he could be special. But it doesn’t seem like he wants to be great. It seems like he wants to talk about it and get the appearance off it, but doesn’t really want it. He’d rather live on the coattails of the success Brady has brought to the Bucs than make his own way.
I am so disappointed in him as a fan. His tackling ability has gotten progressively worse over the past three years. I really do hope he becomes a mute off the field and puts all that talk and energy into film study and technique. Because if he did that he could be great. Could be.

They were fierce competitors who refused to give up a blade of grass to an opponent. What about you? Would love to hear your answer, that is if you’re not too bored to answer. White chooses the wrong words and he does talk too much…..but his play on the field is great…..He didn’t win Defensive Player of the Month last month for lackluster play.
I’m glad we have him…….Hopefully he’ll be motivated to outshine the other Devin (Bush) that was drafted just after he was……
Our Devin turned out better than theirs…..thus far.

White sounds like a male reproductive organ here, like someone who’s had his ego stroked since middle school or someone who hasn’t learned that words have meaning & power. He displays an unwillingness to take responsibility for his words or actions. Yet, he always seems to know where the cameras & microphones are- Ya know, the modern pro-football athlete!
He has great ability & crazy speed, we simply expect more out of him & some of us are not sure he wants it himself. Bored?! Really?!

TODD – wake up from your coma and do some of that leadership stuff a head coach is supposed to do. HOLD HIM ACCOUNTABLE. My idea is to bench him for a few plays, but I’m not the head coach, I only play one on TV.

Devin White is a young dude and I expect him to have ups and downs both on and off the field. Was he worth the 5th overall pick in 2019? My first thought was hell no! Then I got reacquainted with that draft and decided that the only other player that I’d rather have is Brian Burns. Devin looks like a superstar at times and it’s up to the coaches to use him properly. As of today, I would not give him a huge contract next year, but the seaon is still young and White has a lot of games left to prove that he can be consistently great. If he can’t, there’s no way that I’m paying a good linebacker 20+ per year. Let some dummy team pay him that much loot, like the jets did with Mosley.
