Friday’s Gone, No Shaq News

June 27th, 2020

Waiting.

So, Joe wonders what was supposed to happen with NFL sack king, Bucs outside linebacker Shaq Barrett yesterday?

Earlier this week, Shaq appeared on “Total Access,” seen weeknights on NFL Network, and told fetching Colleen Wolfe something may happen Friday.

To paraphrase a Lynyrd Skynyrd song, Friday’s gone. So what happened?

Shaq was asked by Wolfe if he was going to sign his franchise tag. Shaq was non-committal saying he was “50-50.” For all Joe knows, perhaps Shaq was going to meet Friday with his agent, oily Drew Rosenhaus, to develop a battle plan to get an extended contract or discuss holding out.

Joe would be shocked if Shaq held out and toyed with losing some $16 million he is expected to pocket by signing the tag.

However, if Shaq doesn’t sign by July 15, it wouldn’t be a surprise whatsoever if he blew off training camp. Why set yourself up to maybe catch “The Sickness,” or get hurt and miss games or perhaps worse?

Whatever Shaq thought may have happened yesterday, nothing was announced as of midnight.

You can see the short interview with Shaq in the NFL Network video below.

For warriors who play a game with brutal collisions, devastating injuries, and neck and head trauma, you’d thing that the WUHAN VIRUS would be the least of their concerns.

Shaq will be on the field. A 15mil year and playing for a long term contract- no way he can holdout and repeat last years performance.

No…….it’s just you and your far right views.

The Joes here aren’t all about political bias…..they try to be fair to everyone.

Try changing your wording without changing your view.

Hopefully he holds out for the huge contract!!!!!!! Why lower his value or worse gets the sickness at One Buc and never sees the big contract!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coaches will likely be gone next year Shaq!!!!!!!!! Might as well cash in now!!!!!!!!!!! PAY THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!

  8. SOEbuc Says:

Vea was very minor. Expected to start week one.Why do they wait so long to get surgery? Certainly has affect on the draft, right? It’s like DeSantis waiting for the biggest numbers to open the state.

Myself would go with a monster Vea/Suh DT early in 2021. Give man beast Anthony Nelson a one year shot.

Drama in a slow news period…

  10. Clean House Says:

Knuckle Sandwhich thanks for enlightening us and helping us blame-shift away from all of the incompetent moron politicians and right wingers who treated this as a hoax initially. Do your knuckles drag on the ground when you walk?

  11. Anthony Dickson Says:

C’mon man, the man is about to make almost ten times the amount he’s made in his entire NFL career in just one year. The only reason to wait to sign(the franchise tag) would be for the hope of getting a long term contract.

  12. Joe Says:

    WUHAN VIRUS

The “Wuhan Virus” is invisible. You have no clue who has it or where it is or when it will hit.

A right tackle bearing down on your @ss to blow you up, that’s kinda hard to miss.

  13. Joe Says:

they try to be fair to everyone.

    Thank you! 🙂

  15. Joe Says:

    Tuesday’s Gone With The Wind

That’s the lyric. The song is “Tuesday’s Gone.”

Was trying not to use the entire line because, you know. 🙁
