Analyzes Tom Brady and preseason.

So how much playing time should park-violating, home-invading Bucs quarterback Tom Brady get this preseason?

That was a topic of discussion for a former Bucs front office suit.

Earlier this week responding to a question from Joe, Bucco Bruce Arians mentioned in a Zoom conference chat that he would “doubt very seriously” Brady would get more snaps in preseason games than originally planned.

Just a hunch that Arians wants to save him for the regular season and Brady’s experience will allow him to adapt quicker than many other quarterbacks could or would in a new offense without OTAs or a minicamp.

Based on this information, Joe’s good friend Alex Marvez asked his “The Blitz” co-host, former Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik, how many, if any, reps Brady might need in preseason with the spring element of the offseason wiped out. This came during a broadcast of the show heard exclusively on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

Dominik agreed with Arians; Brady should be fine with minimal snaps.

“I personally don’t think Tom has to take a lot of reps,” Dominik said. “I think he knows exactly what he is going to be doing and what is expected of him. [Lack of offseason reps], I don’t think that is going to hurt him as much as Jarrett Stidham. I don’t think [the lack of offseason reps] will truly impact the performance of him.”

Brady’s timing with his new receivers may be an issue. But not knowing the offense? Joe’s going to guess Brady will already have a good grasp of it come July 21, when Bucs training camp is expected to begin.

A much more critical issue is keeping Brady on his two feet all season.

TAMPA TWO, presented by Caldeco Air Conditioning & Heating, is back with Part I of Derrick Brooks and Ira Kaufman sitting down with former Bucs receiver Vincent Jackson. Enjoy! Another production from The Identity Tampa Bay and Joe.

He’s already been throwing with his new receivers. Do we think he knows Gronk?

Do we think ME13 can make ANY QB look good, much less a 20 year GOAT?

This is not a slam at JW just pointing out that ME13 made his bones the year before JW even showed up. His very FIRST TD was in that miracle win against the Steelers in Pittsburgh QB’d by Mike Glennon.

CG14…seriously? This guy can simply ball and he too will make Brady “look” good if indeed Brady even needs the help.

What’s not to like? A precision passer with at least three amazing possession receivers…let’s play some pitch and catch.

Rock Star Mark Dominick…….second biggest joke moniker behind America’s QB….

I like the Rock Star Mark Dominick much better in the media, then I ever did as our GM.

The running game will be extremely important especially during the first four or so games. It’s going to take reps for the passing game to get in sync.

Also stopping the run on defense will be equally beneficial.

    Go Bucs!

I do not know how much zip Brady may have lost on his ball. It’s not the critical issue. How accurate is he with the ball?

If he retains his historic accuracy he’s going to be tough to stop. He can put the ball where ONLY our targets can get their hands on it…Let ME..CG and Gronk and others make some plays…just protect the ball.

Again…an accurate passer combined with targets who play like NBA power forwards is truly difficult to stop. You virtually MUST get to the passer. It’s the only real defense against accurate passers who can put the ball where only their targets have a shot and oh btw the way their targets are AWESOME athletic freaks who catch virtually anything they can get their hands on.

His “timing” will be no worse then Winston’s…..He gets the ball out quick, he’ll either hit his guy in stride, dump it off or throw it away. Both Godwin and Evans are aggressive/physical receivers, I think they’ll clean up when needed but I don’t see them having to work near as hard as they did with Winston. He hung his guys out to dry so much Evans was starting to immediately get down after the catch.

If anything my fear is simply wrong routes being ran due to communication issues….but with Brady, he’ll hold them accountable so the same mistakes aren’t reoccurring and he’ll likely recognize the problem before his release and just throw it away. Winston was hell bent on making every play call work despite the obvious problems. Big difference in the two…..Big.

Whatever Dominik says do the opposite. Such a failure with the Bucs no one wanted him in their operation.

Things must have been going well for Dom when that photo was taken. That pose makes it look like he had a lifetime contract.

The one thing I do like with what Brady does best in getting the ball out of his hand quickly is if teams try to cheat in on that and the line is protecting Brady well the deeper routes will open up more. Ronald Jones proved he can catch screens and its pretty good in open field. I believe Calais is going to be a factor as well as Vaughn. Arians just needs to commit “enough” to the three run to keep defenses on their heels, reacting instead of anticipating

Should change your name to jokebucsfan… If I was Brady I wouldn’t give you the time of day or answer any questions with your blatant disrespect
