Players Begin Lobbying For Raheem
January 4th, 2010In the past weeks, players such as Jeff Faine, Chris Hovan, Ronde Barber and Cadillac Williams have come out in support of the embattled Raheem the Dream.
After Sunday’s loss, perhaps fearing the end has come, Bucs players came out in force for Raheem the Dream, reports Joe Smith of the St. Petersburg Times.
“Raheem is our coach, he’ll be our coach until otherwise,” safety Tanard Jackson said. “He should be our coach, he’s a great coach. He came in our first year had to work with what he had to work with. I know it’ll be different next year.”
Center Jeff Faine said there has been no “uncertainty” talked about in the lockeroom, and that Morris did well considering the circumstances, the cutting of big parts of the nucleus before the season (Derrick Brooks, Warrick Dunn, etc), and the fact they’re developing a franchise quarterback in Josh Freeman.
“I have faith in Raheem Morris, I have faith in Coach (Greg) Olson and I think these guys can get it done,” Faine said. “You let a good nucleus of a team go last year, and it is a situation where you draft a quarterback to build around. If you’re gonna build around somebody, you have to be able to stick with it a little bit.”
Joe wonders if Raheem the Dream doesn’t get a second chance, will there be a fullscale revolt by the players?

Could be….they seem to like him.

I can see a potential revolt if Coach Rah gets fired, since the players seem to like him as there Coach.
Probably the last thing the Glazer’s need is a revolt not only by the fans, but also by the players!

Of course the players are going to lobby for him. With as little talent as we seem to have players know that a new coach will mean turnover at a lot of positions. These guys know most of their jobs will be safe with Heem.

They want him cause he’s a buddy more like a contemporary. They need a guy that will make them work their butts off and makes sure the best guy is on the field rather than the guy that chooses his qb because he “reminds me of Magic Johnson because of his engaging smile”. They need a guy that will choose the best guy to come on the team rather than picking a guy up because he remembers he liked him in college (yamon figures). They need a head coach, not somebody who has to make a call upstairs to make sure that he can switch qbs. I wonder how many of these guys would pay for season tickets to watch what we saw this season.

Sounds like the players are getting a little to use to being LOSERS!!!!
Why chance getting a guy that will work them hard and prepare them to win when they have a coach that doesn’t got a clue at what it takes to be successful so they get to slack off with their “buddy”!!!
