    Well played. –Joe

To whichever Joe that keeps whining Bowles is going to hold back Rueben Bain…did he hold back Shaq Barrett? A 13% drop rate into coverage is not going to affect his overall numbers in the slightest- and might even lead to a pick or two like Barrett used to get! What is wrong with you? Barrett had his best seasons ever here! Why on earth would Bowles want to hold Bain back when sacks often lead to the end of drives? It’s ludicrous, and you keep feeding that narrative and it’s self-serving and a detriment to the stability of the team. “Self-serving?” Joe makes no money and receives no glory from sharing an opinion on Todd Bowles’ use of edge rushers. And certainly what Joe types here has nothing to do with team stability — positive or negative. –Joe

Just quit it with the Bowles vendetta. “Vendetta?” Joe will assume you don’t know what that word means. Joe never called for Bowles to be fired on these pages. –Joe

He won us a Super Bowl for God’s sake. He did. He and the Bucs had a special season, earned their place in glorious Bucs history. And the vast majority of Bucs players from that era retired or were launched. Heck, Bowles launched his own Super Bowl coaches, a bunch of them. –Joe

**Enough** already. We see what you are doing. Passive aggressive much?

  3. Stpetematt Says:

My numbers- Bain 13, Diaby 9, Walker 8, Muhammad 8, Kancey and Vea each 6.

57 sacks due to relentless, tireless outside pressure.

If Kancey plays all season I’ll up him to 9 or 10. That’s a big IF.

  4. Obvious Says:

    Joe 1 – 7-win gut. Smart
Joe 2 – Soft mindset. Where does that come from?

  5. Stpetematt Says:

It doesn’t drive revenue here to feed the trolls? There surely is a lot of them… There are not a lot of them at all. Commenters are a miniscule fraction of the traffic here. Thankfully!… And Joe doesn’t consider disgruntled fans to be trolls. They’re fans. Their opinion doesn’t have to conform to someone else’s view of what’s appropriate. Same goes for media. There’s lots of media and fans out there who for a very long time have considered this site to be an affront to Buccaneers coverage, as if there’s a playbook — unwritten rules — on how to inform and entertain fans. There isn’t. –Joe

Just be aware it doesn’t make a lot of sense that Bowles would willingly destroy his own career and legacy just to stick to a system if it isn’t working. Numerous coaches in various sports are system coaches. It works for some — or in some years — and not in others. Not every coach is willing to adapt beyond their comfort zone. — Joe That’s part of the reason why he is constantly tweaking his defense to stay relevant. I’ll bet we see even more dime this year than usual, for instance. Now that we have Bunting there’s even more flexibility to use more DB’s.

Surely you can see it might behoove Bowles to limit the snaps of a castoff from the worst team in the league, who also happens to be a practice squad dude.

  7. Obvious Says:

It’s difficult for some to get. But understandable.

Sometimes we let ourselves drink the kool aid. I did it last year. After the 5-1 start and especially after Seattle I thought maybe we had a team and qb that’s pure clutch. But then we watched MNF in Detroit and at NO.

    Season – donzo.

If we get off to a hot start, as is normal with Todd, you can expect 8 or 9 wins. If we get off to a bad start, maybe a loss this Sunday, which wouldn’t be unreasonable, followed by a couple Todd Bowles specials against teams we should beat….look out. Here comes that mentality that Todd brings like Stevie was describing.

It’s not rocket science. But it’s not kool aid either.

  8. CosmoKramer Says:

Floormatt got the smack down. Love it!!! Deserves all of it.

Bowles is the center of his universe and his life revolves around Todd.

It’s actually really weird and a little scary how blindly loyal he is to a HC\DC that drains more out of the pool every year.

If you don’t waive the Pom Poms and spew lemming speak, he will attack you even on your own website.

All he wants is an echo chamber of his own thoughts regurgitated back to him.

  9. Stpetematt Says:

Cosmo you sure sound strangely familiar…

I like Bowles. I’d rather have McVay, but even he isn’t infallible as we saw the other night. The coach matters significantly less than the talent of the players. Belichick has already proven he wasn’t the successful one- Tom was. And no matter how much Joe denies it, it’s still ridiculous to think Bowles would hold back Bain either on purpose or by accident. Yet he still says it. Over and over.

And yeah- I’d rather see Garnes in there too but we are not nearly as weak at corner as it might look. Arizona went with youth in their secondary, they are perfectly capable of making a mistake though as they have proven many times. We’ll see if he (Bunting) can help or not, probably soon enough. I don’t think he would have passed a physical if he wasn’t pretty recovered and the rate our secondary typically gets injured I doubt he’ll be on the PS for long.

  10. Stpetematt Says:

Come to think of it, maybe there is only 5 trolls- with like 30 names a piece. Take Cosmo for example…

  11. CosmoKramer Says:

Floormatt, even the Joes know you’re being moronic.

Bowles is an awful HC\DC and everyone except you realizes that fact.

Even my other detractors, I have many, all admit they don’t like Bowles even though they hate my opinion.

You’re on an island with your three openings Todd Bowles doll.
