Lovie Smith: “True Football Fans Can See We’re On The Verge”

December 15th, 2014

team glazer, lovie

Lovie Smith might be the most confident 2-12 head coach in NFL history, based on his comments on the Buccaneers Radio Network this evening.

With his glass more than half full, Lovie acknowledged the team’s struggles but said optimistic fans, “true Buc fans,” make him feel good and everyone should acknowledge the positives from this season.

“Except for three games this year, we’ve been in every one. So I think true football fans can see that we are on the verge,” Lovie said on WDAE-AM 620. “We have built a foundation. We’re not there yet. But in time we will win football games around here, and win a lot of football games. Going through tough times like this, going through adversity like we’re doing. It’s making us stronger.”

Joe’s far too beaten up from all the brutal losing — and far too cynical — to be inspired by the head coach’s comments. But Joe hopes sharing these uplifting quotes will help some Bucs fans sleep tonight.

Sweet dreams.

  2. SteveK Says:

“True” football coaches of sh!tty teams would take phone calls, like Schiano did last year.

“True” football coaches would hold players accountable, and would play the best at each position.

“True” coaches would win more than two damn games.

  3. SteveK Says:

Lovie, you’ve built a foundation of dog sh!t. I can’t believe I feel worse about the Bucs this year than last year.

What a pathetic joke of a team.

The only good part about our record is that now, Coach Smith, has finally stopped talking being “two games out of first”.

Win one of the next two, or admit to fans you are tanking.

Schiano would be winning this division.

  4. buccanAy Says:

he is NOT living in reality…..its called “delusions of grandeur”…he’s “out of touch” with the fans, and with reality…this is SCARY

  5. MariotaOrWinstonOrWalkdaPlank Says:

Thanks Joe, I needed a good laugh.

  6. DB55 Says:

All 5k of them that will be at the stadium on Sunday. So now Lovie plans to turn the fans against him. No accountability! Everything is peaches and roses better yet, like pink unicorns and rainbows. Insulting the fans is defensively the way to go. This guy is a complete joke.

2-12 and you’re talking about progress, building foundations?

  7. StPeteBucsFan Says:

“True Football Fans Can See We’re On The Verge””

Maybe. But coming from Lovie? So does this get filed with…

    Josh McCown is the man!

Mike Glennon is the QB of the future.

  8. SteveK Says:

“True” fans and Marty Huggins say, “it’s a mess!”

I know we have completely different views on 8 but very nice posts above… Could not have said it better

  10. DB55 Says:

    *definitely

  11. Brandon Says:

Only a near-sighted fool would think that despite not winning as many games as last year, this team has made progress considering the circumstances. Despite Arroyo being a complete neophyte at OC the offense is still scoring and gaining more than last year’s team.. the defense is on the rise…and as Lovie said, all but 3 games have been competitive… Heck, in Schiano’s best season he got blown out in 3 of the last 4 games. I’m good with him coming back to prove the doubters wrong next season. A new OC and QB should be worth at least 8 points a game and far less short fields for defenses…these close games we keep losing will be close games we win. The team under Schiano and Morris continually got worse and worse than that, players quit on their coach. This team is playing hard and playing tough. I just hope they don’t play too hard and too tough in the next two weeks because we need that QB!

Yes on the verge of the #1 overall pick. HOPE it’s a QB Lovie HINT HINT

  14. tmaxcon Says:

Brandon – Please share you meds… Have you watched this team embarrass itself??? Have you watched this team commit undisciplined penalty after penalty. Have you watched this team either get off to a slow start or not being able to finish a game??? Pittsburgh win was a fluke. The steelers hand wrapped that game between their undisciplined play… unbelievable take you made above…

you must just post to get reactions. I do that when I am smashed and your post made me break out the good stuff Teeling Silver Reserve 21 Year Old Single Malt

  15. Buccfan37 Says:

True fans, so if fans opinions differ from Lovie’s they are not true fans. Should’nt have taken the job Lovie. Be prepared to go nowhere fast. Lovie taking a QB first, that seems unrealistic.

  16. buccanAy Says:

Lovies team has won 2 freakin games, playing the EASIEST sked in the NFL. Shiano’s team won 7 games yr 1 and 4 games last season, playing one of the toughest skeds in NFL. You(Brandon) must be the “true” fan Lovie was speakin to. Lovie has taken “failure” to levels rarely seen.

  17. DB55 Says:

What foundation has Lovie built? Mccoy and LVD? Nope. Ja smith? Ok. Mccown? Mankins? Cousins? Collins? Wait Major Wright, that’s it! No wait, ASJ and Meyers? Lol, ok they both sucked this year. WTF is this guy talking about? You built a foundation of chit. That’s why tedford left your a$$ hanging like the clown that you are. The worst part is that “true buc fans” are accustomed to losing and even they can’t support your sorry a$$. That is except Brandon in his infinite wisdom, he’ll be home for dinner soon.

  18. RastaMon Says:

Bucs should trade down twice in the 1st round and get on with the rebuilding…

  19. rayjay1122 Says:

I wonder if the other 2 win teams are as delusional about being so close to being good. Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. Quit spewing nonsense Lovie and pretend we are living I Missouri and just show me! Talk is cheap. I can live with a maximum of 2 more seasons of Lovie’s tenure as long as each year they get better but I have not seen any evidence that can happen since much of the issues with this team is poor coaching. Sorry Lovie but the truth hurts.

  20. tmaxcon Says:

Brandon in his infinite wisdom, he’ll be home for dinner soon.

    Hilarious

  21. Caradoc Says:

Yeah, we’re on the verge alright. The verge of drafting first overall. Intentionally.

  22. Harry Says:

Inspired, Joe? Friggin pissed is what I am. How insulting. Is Lovie saying I am not a true Bucs fan because I don’t see that they “have been in every game”? Lovie, I see an inept coaching staff – after all, YOU ARE 2-12!!

  23. DB55 Says:

    Tmaxcon

I saw a $3500 dollar bottle of Johnny walker on Saturday. It was in a beautiful wooden case very nice bottle indeed. Thought to myself “wtf? Who buys a $3500 bottle?” Answered “those who can”

  24. FowlBall Says:

    This is sad.

I really want to unload some industrial-strength snark right now, but this is

    just sad.

  25. rayjay1122 Says:

I always thought there was 3 stooges until I saw the above picture.

  26. Greg Says:

Hell, I’ll go a step further and say the Bucs were even in those three other games as well, albeit for only the first three minutes or so. Seriously, there’s only 32 NFL teams, how in God’s name can we not find a good coach and GM???

  27. StPeteBucsFan Says:

“Lovie taking a QB first, that seems unrealistic.”

    @Bucsfan

Up until this afternoon I agreed with that completely. But now I’m not not so sure.

Let’s play out the scenario if we get the number one pick. I think you know I’m not for picking Jameis or Marcus…Heisman jinx…too big a gamble..too many needs etc. And so I’m one of the guys wanting to trade down.

Having said that let’s view it from Lovie’s perspective. Now putting aside his natural tendencies and desires which your post accurately reflects, what if he thinks it all the way out? Here’s how it goes.

Lovie takes Jameis or Marcus and no matter what happens next year he has a built in ready made excuse for losing…rookie QB. It virtually guarantees Lovie a 3rd year.

If he does what I want, trade down, grab Andrus Peat at OT and pick a QB in the 2nd or 3rd then he HAS to win next year.

Seriously if I was Lovie’s agent I would tell him to take Jameis or Marcus to make sure he gets that third year. Now that would be as Lovie’s agent, but I’m a Bucs fan. Trade down Lovie and gamble on the QB pick in a later round.

  28. tmaxcon Says:

    DB55

Man that is out of my league…. I am pretty proud of the 168.00 bottle of Teeling Silver Reserve though and I don’t break it out very much… I am 100% Irish and love my Irish whiskey it makes for interesting posts.

Maybe if I drink enough whiskey tonight I too can be a real fan.

  29. JJV Says:

When Lovie speaks there is a stink like something is rotten in Denmark. For goodness sakes coach, try to use some mouthwash before you spew all the poop to smell.

  30. Tom Edrington Says:

    On the verge of……

I’d say most season ticket holders are on the verge of wondering why they forked out all that hard-earned money for such a crappy product….

Lovie’s right, they’re on the verge of a much-improved 6-10 season next year!

    Just think…TRIPLE the wins!!!

    Yeah, that’s the ticket!

  31. rayjay1122 Says:

I envy the $3500 bottle but I will stick with the $3.50 bottle of beer so when I vomit after watching the Bucs and listening to Lovie’s nonsense I at least won’t be wasting such valuable spirits.

  32. Sick of this $hit Says:

Yeah, sweet dreams Joe. Please wake me up when we start winning and if we dont take a QB this draft, then take me off life support.

  33. SteveK Says:

    Brandon,

What football team are you watching?

If I’m a “narrow sites fool”, then you’re a goddamn idiot.

  34. tmaxcon Says:

rayjay1122 — you made me spit up laughing… I wonder if throwing up beer watching his improving team certifies you a real fan in the eyes of delusional Lovies.

  35. Greg Says:

Please don’t insult me or any other fan with your crap Love.
    Over it

  36. Brandon Says:

    Taco

I just have a life that is pretty awesome so my football team loses, it doesn’t ruin my week. Live to fight another day.

  37. JJV Says:

Joe, please let’s start a poll on the worst head coach in Bucs history for the “true” fans to vote to see where Lovie stands. Then send the results to Lovie so he can “truly” see how we feel about him. He wants the truth, let’s give it to him.

  38. ToesOnTheLine! Says:

A couple more things you’re on the verge of Lovie…on the verge of getting swept by every team in the historically bad NFC South, and if you keep saying delusional statements somehow trying to make a 2-12 (most likely 2-14) season seem like a step in the right direction you’ll be on the verge of getting relieved of your head coaching position.

  39. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    DB55 and tmaxcon

You guys are drinking out of my league! I’m more a Vodka than Scotch guy but I can sip it sometimes.

So my BIL’s daughter graduates from college and he breaks out Johnny Walker Blue which was a pretty big deal for this guy’s budget. He passes a shot around for all of us to sip, savor and enjoy when another BIL simply slams his down like he was doing shooters at a night club. Talk about a waste of good liquor.

If you guys are Buc fans however Rayjay makes a great point. 3.50 beer doesn’t hurt as much when you puke after watching the bucs games.

  40. Pickgrin Says:

LOL – Joe recognizes a good snippet to feed the rabid Lovie hating JBF wolves when he hears one….

  41. rayjay1122 Says:

Well….enough Bucs gloom for me tonight. Breaking out the fireball and that is way to painful to vomit. Good night fellow Bucs sufferers.

  42. Aubpierce Says:

Give any QB a decent offensive line and time to throw and he will beat you.Yesterday was the perfect example, as the first game of the year was.It will take at least two drafts and a great free agency to replace the entire offensive line because they are not even suitable backups. Then you can start replacing most of the defense which allowed time of possession to be dominated by almost every opponent. Scrap the scheme and the coaches that believe in a prevent defense. Now you can draft QB. What QB will succeed if he never sees the ball, and when he does he gets killed. Check time of possession in all the Bucs games. Fix that and you will win.

  49. BucTrooper Says:

A real coach would realize you are a disaster and a disgrace.

  50. Dewey Selmon Says:

He could of used the word knowledgeable, passionate, long-time, but to say “true fans”. Screw you buddy. u sound like a used car salesman. Your defense has gotten better, but your ultimate demise will be the ultra conservative ways that got Dungy shown the door. I think the Glazers, Licht, the new OC will all call for Lovie to draft mariota #1 and then he will not have a choice. This franchise needs to sell seats and we need a QB for the first time in forever.

  51. 1bucfan88 Says:

True football fans?! TRUE FOOTBALL FANS?!

True football fans are tired of his terrible player evaluation. True football fans are tired of his anemic offense and questionable game plans. True football fans are tired of hearing him talk a lot and saying nothing. True football fans are tired of his lousy excuses. True football fans want this clown fired NOW.

  52. port richey george Says:

the packers must win for play off considerations. they lost to the bills yesterday. the stadium will be full of cheese heads that will be drowning out mccown’s signal calling. it will be like an away game for the bucs at home. GMC is out for the year.I expect the bucs will not win. the 1st pick in the draft should be TB’s. it will be the new bucs head coaches top pick. 🙂

  53. mikeh Says:

except for three games. idiot! true fans want more than 2 wins moron. all he did as head coach was make this team worse than it was. got rid of some dam good football players. and replaced them with pinheads. ya true fans. what a ahole and I cannot believe the glazers listen to this s..t that comes out of his pie hole. wow!!!!!!!!!!

  58. BigMacAttack Says:

Lovie, I’m not sure what you call that crap on Sunday’s, but it really doesn’t resemble football. At least not the kind that True Football fans enjoy watching.

  59. Jaydid Says:

Wow, you guys are sore losers. Yeah, we suck. But we have been here before and things eventually turned around. Crying in your beer or whatever you are drinking doesn’t help either. Take this like a man and start fighting for your team, not against it. Put away your torches and pitchforks and stop praying for some savior coach. How many have you chased out of town already? This gonna take some guts so if you can’t take, get out of the way! And no you don’t get a trophy just for being a fan. Sometimes you lose! Don’t worry you can jump on the bandwagon when we start winning again 😉

  60. mikeh Says:

PEOPLE US FANS DO NOT DESERVE TO GET SMOKE BLOWN UP OUR ARS. AND TREATED LIKE WERE IDIOTS LIKE HIM BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH CRAP WITH THIS TEAM . WE ARE TRUE FANS! BECAUSE EVERY YEAR WE HAVE HOPE. THAT IT WILL GET BETTER THROUGH THICK AND THIN. THATS A TRUE FAN. THIS GUY CAN KISS MY ARS.

  61. MTM Says:

The verge of being great. Just loose out and pick Marriota. The kid is the real deal not a mental midget.

  62. Mr. Patrick Says:

Those are the kind of comments that are made by a coach who is trying to protect his job. Helen Kellar could see that this team is horribly coached. You are what your record says you are.

  63. Maze Says:

Didn’t think it was possible but I dislike Smith even more now

  64. mikeh Says:

@JAYD- is that u jay glazer?

  65. The Buc Realist Says:

Lovie is right, A couple of good free agents, a couple years of good drafting and this team could be average!

  66. mikeh Says:

check out the picture! looks like lovie has his hand in glazers pants lol! wow!!!!!!! not only stealing money from them hah lovie?

  67. Jaydid Says:

Mikey – are you gonna hate on everyone associated with Bucs? Because hate really changes things in a positive way? Look vent if that is the only way you can handle yourself but I would rather have lovie’s drama than yours.

  68. Jaydid Says:

Why can’t we get a 1st round QB and improve the o-line this off season? We could get to 7-9 next year in our crap division.

  69. mikeh Says:

sorry how are u listening? jaydid. u mean reading? my post. DONT READ THEM !

  70. mikeh Says:

@JAYDID- no I don’t mean to be rude to anybody pal. but its freedom of speech. and I personally don’t like this guy never did. bad hire u shall see.

  71. SAMCRO Says:

I’m not taking up for Smith, but what did you expect him to say?

Defeated attitudes get coaches fired. Excuse me for being the one to remind everyone that this is Smith’s first year. Nobody including myself picked them to have a winning season. The state of the team going into next off season sure looks bleak but Smith should be at least afforded his second year to see if he can turn it around. When you look at all the weaknesses on our team, and considering our labor pool to choose and employ FA’s will be full of virtually the same players as this year, does not bode well for us unless we hit huge on all our draft picks. But hey miracles do happen. Personally I’d draft nothing but offensive tackles in the first 3 rounds, and bring in another veteran QB to replace McCown. I.E. Bradford, Sanchez, etc. Offer McCown QB coaching job. If we draft a “diaper dandy” with no O-line to protect him we might as well hang a bust sign on the kid before he makes it into his sophomore season.

  72. Pelbuc Says:

Similar words were said last year before Schiano got fired. True BUCS fans were told not to be patient, that Bucs were in a “win now” mode. Unless radical changes are made, us fans will be hearing this same sales pitch same time next year. You don’t have to get much worse to get better.

  73. Mr. Patrick Says:

A note to present and future Bucs coaches – If you tell us you are going to win now, we believe you. If you don’t (2-14) we no longer trust you and want you gone. Next coach up

  74. BigMacAttack Says:

    Jaydid,
bro I buy season tickets every year. I make the walk of shame back to my truck Sunday after Sunday, year after year. I’ve been more than patient and wasted many thousands of dollars on Glazer experiments and bad personell decisions. I hope you can say the same. This is way beyond taking it like a man or being tough. This is the deaf and dumb leading the blind to a dried up river bed. Drink the sand if you wish but I’ll stick to Bud.

  75. Waterboy Says:

Ok we’ll see how they’re on the verge after they play Green Bay this weekend.

  76. NJBucsFan Says:

I’m sorry…but Lovie will never be confused for being the smartest person in the room. He should never say anything like this.

  77. MTM Says:

Do you think Colt fans are still pissed that they tanked for Luck?

  78. BFFL Says:

    Lovie,

I saw this team was headed to last place in July. I also think this team is nowhere close to being a Super Bowl contender any time soon….maybe it can happen if you and Licht sign 3 great free agents, hit on your first 3 rounds and hire a great OC. However, based on your track record from last offseason I would say this is very unlikely.

    Sincerely,
    Sane fan

    Don’t forget the ‘drive-in movies!

    @ StPeteBucsFan

I have a different perspective on your scenario. As I see it, if Lovie takes a QB and goes 2-12, it’ll look like he wasted a premium pick on a bust that will set the franchise back for several years. This scenario is very likely unless there’s a MAJOR O-line overhaul of ‘quality’ talent. Do you trust Lovie to bring in an entirely new ‘quality’ O-line? What does history say?
If Lovie ‘sits’ the “can’t miss, franchise-saving” QB, and Lovie goes 2-12 (probably with McCown), the Glazers are going to ask Lovie to explain why he spent a premium pick on a player who wasn’t ready to start.
If Lovie drafts O-linemen, he will tell the Glazers he is building a line for a QB to be protected for the next ten years. After watching this year’s O-line play, I doubt if the Glazers will disagree.
You see, the argument can go either way.
*My* preference is to build the line. Games are won/lost in the trenches.
My biggest concern is relying on Lovie/Licht to evaluate the talent. Again, what does history say?

  82. Aceofaerospace Says:

That’s probably about the most insulting statement Lovie could have made. Us uninformed, unclean, unwashed non-fans, I guess, that shell out money for tickets, merchandise etc, are just too stupid to realize how good we have it. I guess I should wear a tee shirt stating I’m Uninformed, Unclean and Unwashed on Sunday. (Lovie will hopefully get the biblical references).

  83. P'cola Buc Says:

Remember when Lovie kept telling us that this is a 4-12 team. He just kept repeating it so we can pine over “the good ol’ days”!

  84. passthebuc Says:

    Yes:

On the way to consistent mediocrity

  85. mikeh Says:

THE GLAZERS ARE NOT PAYING THIS GUY TO TANK GAMES! for a draft pick. I want the pick QB also but I don’t think they can be happy about this. jmo.

  86. BigMacAttack Says:

I agree with building the O line. Without it QB matters not.
And to think, I thought this team would end up 5-11. I’m such an idiot.

  87. passthebuc Says:

Lovie probably is a good, not great, defensive coordinator.

However, he has rotten history to suggest he could produce a capable offense. He also has no proven history to suggest he can hire a subordinate cast to produce champions.

Sorry Tampa but you are in for another decade of mediocrity.

  88. Soggy Says:

True fans know lovie is trying to force feed us some more kool-aid to make him not look so bad = true fans can see were on the verge, Wow I feel better now lovie, thanks for the Kool-aid, does that make me a true fan now?..

Lovie is confusing “true” fan with imbecile fan.

  90. BucFan20 Says:

Last year the team scored 288 points. So far 254. With 2 games let they need to score 34 points to MATCH that. What an improvement!!

    “Please Brandon. Scoring MORE??

Bucs have scored more than 17 points only 3 times this year: the 2 wins @ DC and Pittsburgh (27 each game) and 31 in New Orleans (which the Bucs lost in OT thanks to general ineptitude in all facets of offense, defense, coaching, clock management, etc…). Take Mike Evans off the field and this would be the worst offense in the NFL as it is its pretty bad as only the Jags, Titans, raiders, 49ers, and Jets have scored less. All are picking in the top 5 with Tampa in the spring draft except for SF who are probably going to fire Harbough very soon….

  99. Mt Tom Says:

I believe I am as “true” a f-n football fan as there has been. Went to my first game as a pre-teen in ’80. I have NO CONFIDENCE in Lovie or his staff. This was THE most disappointing season I can ever recall because I actuallly believed that Lovie was a solid coach, an educator, a football expert. After this season I believe there is a 1% chance this is Rope-A-Dope and 99% chance this dude is totally out of his element. Wait…0% chance its rope a dope, he’s ridiculously useless.

Let’s not forget that the jets jags and Titans are all developing rookie QBs like we should be doing. Instead our 12 vet is playing worse than them.

Honest question here: Do we literally have the easiest schedule in the NFL or at least among the teams 2-12 or 3-11 right now? In other words after we likely lose these last 2 are we guaranteed the #1 pick?

  106. cmurda Says:

@DB55 true.. except minus the Jets because Geno suuuuuucccckkkkss. I think the Geno experiment is donezo.

  107. DB55 Says:

    Cmurda

Yup was hoping I could get some latitude with geno and glennon. Rookies 2nd yr same chit basically.

  108. Another J Says:

Lovie seems to be building a foundation in quicksand!

  109. oldfart44 Says:

It’s always so negative on this site.

It seems to start with Joe, who said he has not played college football.

  110. Todd Says:

I just accept the bucs losing all the time I’m not even mad anymore

  111. Meat Says:

This scare the hell out of me. In all but 2 games?! Is he insane?

  112. Greig Says:

I fully agree, we are on the verge, the verge of becoming know league wide as THE single worst team in the league.
We could well become that team that define suckage.

  113. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

True fans are embarrassed…of being associated with the twits commenting above. Total morons who THINK they matter, when they don’t. No wonder you have no lives to speak of.

  114. Rand J Says:

Not only can Lovie turn the Bucs into the worst team in the entire NFL but he can alienate a large segment of its fanbase. GLAZERS how the fk can you allow that to happen? How can you allow this guy who shows no respect toward Bucs fans continue coaching this team? How can you allow this guy who sold you a bag of lies continue working at 1buc?

  115. nate Says:

I just dont get it…. what he said sounded like a loser mentality..

  116. JJBuc Says:

Just a lot off BULL SSIT~ @Joe where is the Lovey poll? I have NO CONFIDENCE in Lovey.

  117. Patrick in VA Says:

I’m not sure you folks understand what kind of havoc is wreaked on a team when their OC just isn’t there anymore right before the season starts. I certainly don’t know, because I haven’t played football at a high level, but a lot of people who would know, and aren’t associated with the Bucs, have said that it will cause essentially what we’ve seen this year. With that said, I can’t help but think that following the Bucs isn’t really about actually following the team and assessing the various ups and downs and nuances of what is happening over the course of the season so much as it’s some sort of outlet for your pent up aggression and an outlet for some of your prejudices to be aired out without having to put your name and face with it (you know who you are).

Things were so bad last year that there were billboards and websites dedicated to getting the man responsible for it out of town. It’s lunacy to expect that someone is going to waltz in and, in the first year, completely turn around something that was that bad. It’s not often that a coach walks in to a job and has the cupboards fully loaded and ready to go. That happens when a coach retires. We didn’t have a coach retire. This year was a tough year. Won’t argue that at all. But the way you people are acting shows that Buc fans are comprised largely of some of the dregs of society.

  118. BucBob1 Says:

He inherited a bad situation and made it worse. Where have we seen that before!

  119. Phil Says:

I like to get ahold of whatever Lovie is smoking. The only we are on the verge of and we already have achieved it with Lovie as our coach is being in the basement of a crappy NFC South.

  120. JoeJoes Fungi Nails Says:

Have they fired Lovie yet ?

  121. Soggy Says:

@BuccaneerBonzai Says- True fans are embarrassed…of being associated with the twits commenting above. Total morons who THINK they matter, when they don’t. No wonder you have no lives to speak of.

Wow if your really drinking this kool-aid than you are the real moron, Pull your head out of lovies as$ and get some air..

  122. buc4life24 Says:

Patrick, I didnt expect us to make a playoff run in yr one (especially looking at our roster) but I didnt expect to be WORSE all the while playing in a historically bad division. We are a Joke and taken a turn for the worse, while getting rid of players that we invested money and draft pics in.

We will finish with less than half the wins from last yr! Unacceptable!!!

Lovie has a loser mentality and so do many Bucs fans!

  123. bucs4lyfe Says:

half no more than half of you people really are idiots. I don’t know what the hell you expect from a team with no offensive coordinator, lovie revamped the offensive line and yes he gets the blame for that and who knew Michael Johnson would come here and be invisible but excuse me but what the hell players did we have last year? what cornerbacks and pass rushers did we have last year? what linebackers other than lavonte did we have? what run game and offensive line did we have here last year? what punt returners, what safties, what wide receivers other than Vincent Jackson? idiots….what we have is a sorry ass team the same sorry ass team we had last year and your really are stupid if you look at 4-12 and 2-14 and say the team got worse, is that how you define getting worse? we have better players than last year in more positions but the team still isn’t good enough so all of you idiotic fake ass fans who are mad because the bucs didn’t make the playoffs one year after going 4-12 jump off a cliff and kill yourself and you wont have to worry about who the head coach of the bucs are……no wonder joebucs is getting so popular, you cater to the brainless cattle in the sports world but congrats to you joe

  124. JoeJoes Fungi Nails Says:

I don’t think Lovie has a loser mentality…Lovie is trying as hard as he can…he put together the best roster he could….it is simply a FAILURE…..Lovie must go

  125. Baseball season Says:

Are Yall even bucs fans !?!? If you can’t see were on a verge of being at least decent your brain dead. If we had at least a decent Qb we would have a home game in the playoffs. Defence is fine how it is . Draft the duck and revamp that offense of line (agian) and we will win this garbage a$$ division

  126. sho nuff Says:

from day1 lovies arrogance and snarky tone has been palpable…i knew eventually he would turn it on the fans…f u lovie and your hubris…

  127. ihateloviesmith Says:

will someone get this idiot a bottle of mouthwash, because I can not stand the stench coming from his lying, putrid, mouth. true fans, you ignorant over paid duechbag. you do not deserve the title of head coach for my beloved football team. truth is you suck frazier sucks, and the glazers have lost their freaking minds hiring your sorry ass. I hate you so bad lovie that I can not stand the ground you stand on, your a freaking joke.

  128. Soggy Says:

You know your team sucks when fans turn on each other..lol..

  129. bucrightoff Says:

He may absolutely blow chunks as a coach but credit to Lovie on the top notch trolling skills.

  130. BCoburn Says:

So if we don’t believe in Lovie it’s because we’re not real fans? We’re really supposed to believe we’re that close to being a good team? We have only won 2 games! Surely if we weren’t that bad we would stumble into another few wins especially in such a terrible division. You almost have to try to only win 2 games. If we had strung together a couple wins back to back you could argue we are learning to win, building winning culture/mindset and all that, but at this point we are actually doing the opposite. Currently we are finding new ways to lose every week and players on this team are forgetting what it’s like to win lol

  131. Tomcin Says:

Please! Someone sew this idiots mouth shut, put him in a strait jacket & ship him back to his padded room in his basement, never to be heard from again.

  132. Tomcin Says:

I see they updated the stooges to four.
