“It Was A Tough Meeting”
October 23rd, 2026
Bucs OC Zac Robinson.
Zac Robinson comes across to Joe like a guy who is not triggered very easily.
The Bucs offensive coordinator comes across as a smooth, polished — maybe too smooth and polished — corporate guy. He likes to answer questions with wordy answers, which often turn into word salad.
Joe doesn’t think he has ever seen Robinson rattled. Joe has never heard him holler at practice — Joe did hear Liam Coen and Josh Grizzard get on Bucs offensive players in practice.
But apparently, the old-school football coach can come out of him.
Robinson yesterday in his weekly press conference was asked about Chris Godwin’s numbers on Sunday — yes, he had eight targets but just four catches for 37 yards.
Godwin’s numbers are really, really paltry this season, some of the worst of his career.
Robinson was surprised by the question as he thought Godwin was targeted several times — he was correct — but within his answer to the Godwin question, Robinson let it slip that in an offensive meeting earlier this week, it sounds like he either called some people out or tore into someone’s backside for sloppy play.
“We’ve got to get all these guys going,” Robinson said. “I think it first starts with our level of detail across the board.
“You know, we’ve got to be a lot better. I mean, we had a pretty tough meeting, honestly, on Monday, just talking about the pass game and the missed opportunities and the lack of detail that we showed.”
Robinson brought up an uncharacteristic dropped third-down pass by Godwin that hit him in the hands against Pittsburgh. Robinson said not finishing plays like that when you’re trying to outscore a guy like Aaron Rodgers will doom teams.
Robinson isn’t wrong.
Baker Mayfield later admitted, as Silvio Dante might say, words were spoken.
“We needed to have it,” Mayfield said of the “tough” meeting. “It’s one of those things that’s uncomfortable.
“You can’t be sensitive in that. Everybody [has] a hand in it. It was from, I mean, it wasn’t just about the last game. It was really more so talking about everything that we’ve done wrong.
“The O-Line is playing better and better now, that we need to be detailed in the right spots, quarterbacks have to go through the right reads, have the feet on time. So, just harping on the fact that we’re good when we do the right little things right, and so how consistent can we be and just see that thing come to life and go from there?”
Well, Joe isn’t sure the rest of the offense noticed but it is October 23. A third of the season is gone. They’re 1-5. They go on the road this week to the NFC South landfill leader Carolina.
If the offense is going to begin doing the little things right, now might be a good time to start. Going 1-6, Joe doesn’t know how even the biggest Bucs apologist can sugarcoat that.

If they cant win this week then better to lose out and get the high draft pick
October 23rd, 2026 at 4:15 am
WRs have all looked bad. They are probably the weakest group of the team now. Both EE and Hurst are total duds so far this season. Our QB situation is also pretty bad, but when the WRs are not running good routes and not catching easy throws, something is wrong.
October 23rd, 2026 at 4:25 am
1-6 come Sunday. Tank for that Ohio State WR
October 23rd, 2026 at 4:37 am
It’s about time they had a “tough meeting”. This offense is dreadful. I’m actually torn. As much as I hate how Todd Bowles uses our edge rushers, the defense isn’t actually as bad this year. Tackling is atrocious and again, the pass rush is a non factor, but the offense is the weak point this year. The offense is bland, boring and BAD. Even against the Cowboys, honestly it was Bucky magic and Tez juking a guy out his cleats.
October 23rd, 2026 at 5:02 am
If you ever thought a WR room exclusively made up of small and slow slot limited players was deep and talented, it’s time to self reflect and stop swallowing the company line from the cult of Licht. A ton of draft capital and money went into this.
This problem can’t be fixed in season.
October 23rd, 2026 at 5:38 am
Didn’t they have the same meetings last year? Give me a break
October 23rd, 2026 at 5:49 am
Coach, even Jerry Rice wouldn’t “get going” or look good catching 90% passes 5 yards out or at the line of scrimmage. We have seen the passing charts each game. It is your plays, play calling and poor utilization of the guys on the roster.
October 23rd, 2026 at 6:07 am
meetings. the practical alternative to work.
October 23rd, 2026 at 6:16 am
““We’ve got to get all these guys going,” Robinson said. “I think it first starts with our level of detail across the board.”
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
That includes your sh!tty azz offense Zac. Granted, the WRs are playing poorly, but the entire offense is also and that is a reflection on the OC. I hope someone in the WR room pointed this out to Mr Robinson.
October 23rd, 2026 at 6:36 am
I guess you should start doing what you say. At this point we are going into mid season, it’s where they went down last year. At least we can say the Bucs remain the same. Maybe the win against the a cowboys was an outlier.
Go Rays

Do you all know what comes out of the West end at an eastbound bull?
October 23rd, 2026 at 6:48 am
Last year the Ravens started off 1-5 , but then they won 5 straight to get back in it.
They eventually lost twice to Steelers in 2nd half of season and Harbaugh was fired.
Bucs could get back in it but they have to start winning now and probably win 8 of their last 11 games.
Mayfield needs to get hot…
October 23rd, 2026 at 6:57 am
Lmao the only person who needs to be better is Robinson. He is hot garbage in every capacity.
October 23rd, 2026 at 6:58 am
The tough meeting should have come after the loss to the Browns in the season home opener. That was a disgusting display of poor coaching and lack of urgency.
October 23rd, 2026 at 7:05 am
The level of detail and attention to detail should have been taught and engraved into the minds of these guys before the season started. Here the Bucs are 1-5 and this is being stressed NOW?!?!?!?!? As I have stated before these guys are HIGHLY paid professionals at the highest level of their profession. This is NOT pee wee football and not their first rodeo. Seems to me these players are simply going thru the motions to simply collect a paycheck. Very similar to a guy working a dead end job doing the bare minimum to collect a paycheck in order to keep the lights on and roof over their head. At this stage it is up to coaches and management to straighten them out or bench them. If they are not able to do that then THEY need to go. In Todd “Radio” “the toilet” Bowles case this has been long overdue.
October 23rd, 2026 at 7:10 am
These don’t mean much. They did it last year several times and it didn’t amount to anything.
The inability to coach and the lack of skill calling plays don’t get fixed by one no holds barred meeting.
October 23rd, 2026 at 7:41 am
You mean hold your players accountable? What an odd time to start.
October 23rd, 2026 at 7:44 am
Idc if they made it to the NFC championship game. This coaching staff/GM have shown their ceiling year after year. Unmotivated, poorly prepared, over paid, and lacking a will to win. They have provided uninspired football long enough. Time to move on
October 23rd, 2026 at 7:50 am
Godwin dropped a pass, but had a rest day off at practice? Rest from what? Did gaining 47 yards ware him out? This team, this season is over.
October 23rd, 2026 at 7:51 am
It sounds to me like Robinson is pointing the finger at his players. That is just pure MF arrogance. And, yes, they deserve their fair share.
But when not one part of the offense is doing well, maybe its the horrible offensive (offensive as in bad) super conservative (Todd?) scheme
October 23rd, 2026 at 7:56 am
What good is the best WR in the draft if the Mr Mid QB can’t pass it to him?
Plus the current OC only likes to throw the ball 5 yards down field at most.
All we need is a brand new coaching staff top to bottom, a capable GM, a QB that isn’t a midget, and a dedicated ownership team that actually wants to win.
We have none of those things currently.
October 23rd, 2026 at 7:56 am
I can sugarcoat 1-6 .. lose to CHI DET BAL .. win the rest .. 8-9 in trash division… SUPERBOWL BABY
October 23rd, 2026 at 7:56 am
Just gotta play it better.. coach it better.
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
October 23rd, 2026 at 8:00 am
Sunday has debacle written all over it – rusty banged-up Baker maybe – banged-up Egbuka maybe – banged-up Winfield maybe – ailments and injuries everywhere – coaches flummoxed – doesn’t look good
October 23rd, 2026 at 8:01 am
“ the defense isn’t actually as bad this year. Tackling is atrocious and again, the pass rush is a non factor”
“ Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?”
October 23rd, 2026 at 8:04 am
The tough talk in January can’t come soon enough.
October 23rd, 2026 at 8:05 am
The coaching sucks. PERIOD.
October 23rd, 2026 at 8:12 am
if there are more than two players ruled OUT for the CAR game on Friday’s injury report the team has quit – I think however that most of them will fight on to the BYE – then … look out .. sky will fall
October 23rd, 2026 at 8:21 am
the total ignominy would be to go into Week 13 with only one or two wins and then give the Chargers their first win of the season – that might penetrate the Glazer bubble – they don’t care what fans think – they care what their peers the owners think – and maybe not even them – but it will be interesting to watch the stonewalling and gaslighting

October 23rd, 2026 at 7:51 am
It sounds to me like Robinson is pointing the finger at his players. That is just pure MF arrogance. And, yes, they deserve their fair share.“
Nope, not arrogance just how the game works. Any level of the game, coaches react on the sideline to poor execution the same way a parent does when they see their kid acting up. So yes, take accountability and demand it from your players. It’s the order of the day; let’s not pretend like our guys are out there and their play is crisp. We had 4 drives in the 3rd quarter of this past game we ran 8 total plays, it was a punt & pick party. You can’t blame coaches for that, players have to make things happen. Robinson isn’t fully absolved, but yea it’s his job to point fingers at players when they’re not playing well. These are grown men.
October 23rd, 2026 at 8:52 am
This is the Bucs defining moment where this game determines their season. Losing Evans and David has impacted the team more than anyone anticipated. Losing 2 future Hall of Famers has been earth shattering.
The NFC SOUTH are the bottom feeders of the NFL and the Bucs currently have the worse record in that division.
No one cares if you games are close. You are still the Worst of the Worst.
October 23rd, 2026 at 8:57 am
shouldve had this tough meeting after the CLE game
GO BUCS!!!!
October 23rd, 2026 at 9:23 am
Godwin dropping easy passes, Egbuka not running the routes correctly, Wirfs beaten play after play, Barton a disaster, TEs blown up consistently, RBs not picking up the blitz. It would be way more bad coaching if this wasn’t getting called out by Zac. Poor play by most of the guys on offense not doing their jobs has to be called out. The players have to step up. Wirfs should be ashamed of the performance he put on the field Sunday. The supposed best player on the team was beaten over and over again, as were most of the O-line. Poor JD was under siege. JD was not throwing to some of the open receivers, but the lack of a pocket flushed him way too many times. Just like Baker, he was getting shell-shocked from the constant bombardment. This highly over paid line is not performing at even a reasonable level. Changes have to be made. It can’t be blamed on the injuries any more. Barton and Brederson aren’t good enough. Wirfs and Mauch are making too many mistakes. Goedeke is so-so. Either the players have to go or the coaches have to go or both. The on field product is completely unacceptable. The skill players haven’t been great either, but better than the line play. Baker coming back will accomplish nothing if this awful line play is not rectified. Zac should be screaming on the sidelines all day long in practice and during the games too if this continues.
October 23rd, 2026 at 9:36 am
Will it change anything????????????? Seeing is believing. But don’t just blame CG13 for a drop. It took a total 4th quarter team collapse to lose the last game. Start with the change in defensive strategy that perpetuated easy Steeler scoring drives with soft/prevent alignment. Add in the predictable run and passing game play calls and lack of execution!
October 23rd, 2026 at 9:52 am
Big question : can the Bucs win the NFC South with a losing record ?
Panthers now have 3 wins – if they win Sunday they will have 4 – they play 4 more South games ATL TPA NOx2 – that could be 8 – they have 7 pretty difficult non-South games but could maybe beat the Steelers or Broncos – that would be 9 – so Sunday may actually be a playoff game for the Bucs – unbelievable
October 23rd, 2026 at 9:53 am
The leadership on this team is as stellar as the coaching. Get the refs to call a game fair.y and the Bucs will win the division and make the playoffs.
October 23rd, 2026 at 9:54 am
Our WR’s have really been trash this year in terms of reliability and catching the football.
I think about 2-3 of our losses can be blamed directly on our WR’s sucking at catching the football.
October 23rd, 2026 at 10:23 am
I will say it again – BROKEN RECORD. How many times have we heard the same BS from someone from One Dumpster Fire Place during this 3-12 run? It’s the “details.” Need to “coach” better. Need to “play” better. The “communication is just off.” Need to “finish.” blah, blah, blah. Same BS different week. SO SICK OF IT!
But it’s ok. Todd Bowles and Jason Licht got this. We are all good. Right Team Glazer?
October 23rd, 2026 at 11:48 am
Two more losses and its over. We can make the playoffs with 9 wins, but we would have to be lucky to do so.
October 23rd, 2026 at 12:45 pm
Seems obvious to this amateur that the professionals on this team have thrown in the towel. Season is over.
October 23rd, 2026 at 1:37 pm
Gotta coach it better and play it better. See, Todd has had the answer all along.
Coach it better means new HC and entire staff but Todd is not self aware

“We had 4 drives in the 3rd quarter of this past game we ran 8 total plays, it was a punt & pick party. You can’t blame coaches for that…”
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
WBL, I did not word it very well, so that’s on me, but I said “And, yes, they deserve their fair share.” – They being the PLAYERS.
My point was the offense sucks, every phase of it. Run game, passing game. O-line is NOT playing up to their potential, RBs are not being utilized in the passing game. Gainwell and Tucker are not being used much at all. Super short dink and dunk attack. Having your UDFA rookie throw 45 friggin times in the game. That is all on Robinson.
And I get you. I dont think players are doing everything they can. They deserve some criticism too. To me, IMO, the arrogance comes from the LACK of Robinson saying something like “…and we have to coach it better.. ” and being sincere about it.
October 23rd, 2026 at 4:57 pm
“To me, IMO, the arrogance comes from the LACK of Robinson saying something like “…and we have to coach it better.. ” and being sincere about it.“
Even If he said something like that, fans from this fan base would just turn into the same outrage these fans express over rudimentary coach speak. It’s almost as if, nobody has heard the cliche “we got to play and coach better” before Todd Bowles said it lol
Fact is there was an offensive meeting with the OC AND Players and we’ll never know what was said candidly in that meeting. The fact it came about at the very least shows the offense smell itself and doesn’t like it.
Guys blame play calling when they see bad play, but the only thing they can tell you is bad about a concept it based off the results of the play. I nor anybody reading this has access to Robinsons’ playbook to even begin to deconstruct a given concept and figure out who’s responsible for what in effort to explain WHY a playcall is bad based off players executing it poorly.
There was a rep in the Browns game. We put Egbuka in motion, he released off the hip of the LT then got vertical, Baker literally stared him down went to another read and threw an incompletion while Egbuka got picked up by a damn LBer, that’s a mismatch. So to say or group instances like that into “bad play calling” is really bad playing and there’s a big difference between two. Good play can make a bad call look good, bad play makes everything look bad and that’s easier to point out then to talk as if we’re knowledgeable about the playbook mid-game.

That made me LOL. Yea, you got that right. Some of the comments in here are just so frigging OFF/Uninformed/aka STUPID
