Undisclosed Injury For Sean Tucker

September 7th, 2026

Bucs head coach Todd Bowles was willing to acknowledge that running back Sean Tucker is injured and missed all or some of practice today. But Bowles had no interest in sharing specifics.

“He’s still rehabbing,” Bowles said of Tucker. “He’ll be a gametime decision right now.”

What’s the injury to your RB3, Coach? Bowles punted. “We’ll disclose it on Wednesday,” he replied.

The first official Bucs injury report since January will be issued on Wednesday, four days before the Week 1 kickoff, per league rules.

Bowles keeping the Tucker issue private is a great example of how paranoid NFL coaches get when it comes to injuries (and just about everything else). It’s not just Bowles.

Time to call up Josh Williams from PS.

  2. HC Grover Says:

The season is already gone with Bowles as HC DC.

  3. Mobucs Says:

To keep the paranoia theme, it sounds like they shopping for an RB3 and want 48 hours to make a deal and decide on an injury to put Tucker on the PUP or non-football injury list since it’s been a while since the last exhibition game was played.

    oof

  5. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Maybe the pointless exercise of competing with Josh Williams and getting all those preseason reps weren’t the smartest idea? Who knows, but it’s not like we’ll need Tucker in action over Bucky or Gainwell, so a player we can afford to wait on to get back healthy.

  6. Joe Bob Pigskin Says:

I’m betting he’ll suit up. Play limited snaps.

  7. Pickgrin Says:

Well – if there’s one player the Bucs offense can afford to be without for a game or 2 – its the 3rd string RB…. Especially since the 4th string RB can be brought up from the PS with little to no performance drop off….

  8. Teacherman Says:

He looked more fluid and less square this preseason.

I really hope we use him as RB1 some games.

    It’s a looooong season fellas.

Keep Bucky and Gainwell fresh for weeks 10-17 and the playoffs.

Please don’t run Bucky into the ground this year.

Some game plans should feature Tucker. He can handle 25 carries every few weeks.

Ground and pound with Tucker 1 week. Then let him recover over the next 2 weeks.

Then ground and pound again. Then a couple weeks off.

Use all 3 backs in à scientific way.

Ride one. While resting 1. Ànd vice versa.

We gotta think week by week but also long term!

  9. Defense Rules Says:

HC Grover … ‘The season is already gone with Bowles as HC DC’.

I just don’t get it. Just a few days until our new season kicks off, and THAT’S how you view it? ‘The season is already gone?’ Then why waste your time even commenting on it? Why watch any Bucs’ games if you’re so sure that the season is already kapput?

I think most of us have been on sports teams or other organizations that had leaders we weren’t crazy about. That’s just part of life IMO. Yet we still worked our butts off to make that team or organization the best that it could be. I can’t help the Bucs win by playing for them, but I can sure root for them. For ALL of them.

Contrary to what you obviously believe, I’m convinced that with a little ‘luck’ (minimal injuries especially), this team can go places. How far? Impossible to tell after all these changes, because it often takes time for things to ‘gel’. But still, with a little ‘luck’, this team can excel.

Wonder how EE and JMac are doing this week?

I’ll just let such genius speak for itself…

It is on such another level (of absurdity), that I felt it must be repeated.

    “Scientific,” he says! Bahahahahahahahhhh LMFAOOOO.

  13. BucaneroJim Says:

    RB3… bruised ego.

  14. Kenton Smith Says:

buc4evr. I heard they ran around pretty good.

    2025,

    Sean Tucker
    86 carries -7 TD
    22 First Downs

    Bucky Irving
    176 carries – 1 TD
    27 First Downs

Sean Tucker produced last season with his limited carries
Including a 100 yard game rushing against Buffalo
The only100 game a Bucs rusher had last season

  16. 80sBucsfan Says:

They would have never waived Williams if Tucker was hurt. This is something recent and possibly non-football related…

Interesting. Let’s see what happens. Carrying only 3 RBs is foolish in today’s NFL.

  17. SC Bucs Fan Says:

Defense Rules some posters are only happy when they are unhappy. I feel sorry for them. Must be tough to live like that and really hard on people you live with assuming they found someone to tolerate them.

    It’s a hung toenail…
