“They’re Playing A Little Level Of Desperate Football”
September 8th, 2026
Two more big names have picked the Buccaneers to win the NFC South.
Joe loves it.
About 60 percent of Bucs fans are are thinking 10 or more wins this season. And count SiriusXM NFL Radio chief guru Pat Kirwan among them.
This week, the former Jets personnel chief and linebackers coach picked the Bucs to win 10 games and, no surprise, to win the NFC South. Kirwan talked about visiting Bucs camp this summer the day after he was at New Orleans Saints camp. Kirwan said this week he appreciated the back-to-back look.
While Kirwan is impressed by the Saints and likes their pass rush, quarterback and team vision, he sees a better team in Tampa. That’s why the Saints are his projected division runner-up, with the Falcons third and the Panthers finishing last.
Kirwan doesn’t see Mike Evans being a big loss, and he likes how the Bucs are feeling the heat.
“They’re playing a little level of desperate football,” Kirwan said. “They love their coach, but the coach is on a hot seat — and the fans in the city and all that business that’s going on.”
Kirwan expects a strong season from Baker Mayfield and for him to say, “now pay me” emphatically to the Bucs when it’s over.
Over at the 4th And South podcast, co-hosts and Leonard “Playoff” Fournette and Jarvis Landry also picked Tampa Bay to win the NFC South landfill.
Playoff Lenny raved about how impressive Rueben Bain was in person when Lenny watched Bucs practice. He’s also a Baker Mayfield fan and believes the Bucs have enough weapons to win without Mike Evans.

We will soon see what we got on Sunday. The hype will finally end.

Glazers, Jason, are we gonna do this or what? You know!!!!

6-11
2-7 finish and outside of Wirfs there is not any elite players on the roster. Then you have Bowles and his soft zone scheme going up against the following QBs Burrow, Lamar, Stafford, Goff, Herbert, Dak and an emerging young QB Caleb Williams with an elite offensive play caller
Buckle up, gonna be a long year fans

Whatever motivates them. Fear of losing, love of Bowles, Baker threatening to headbutt somebody, Bain becoming a T-Rex baby-Daddy ā Iām flexible.

Evans won’t be missed on the field or the Bucs front office payroll dept. That money could go to Mayfield’s new contract.

We will see what we have on Sunday, the trolls will quickly disappear.
But it’ll be predictable with the morons in here to overreact no matter what happens.
If Bain doesn’t have a sack, they haters will start in on him having short arms.
If the Bucs win, but the Bengals put up 30 pts, the haters will say the defense sucks.
Been there, done that on this sites for years. Nothing changes.

fanofdabucs, I just posted a long reply to you that somehow got lost in The ether. The Crux of it was, I mentioned that I’ve asked Grover the same question many times and he never has answered because trolls typically don’t. Then I also agreed with you about the post game result comments. If we win, they will only cite the things we did poorly. The tone will be ” in spite of” as opposed to ” because of”. If we lose…. Well, then the floodgates open. It’s strange to think about how excited the trolls get when we do poorly. Truly is an interesting phenomenon.
