Rough Start For Zac Robinson
September 13th, 2026
It’s not Zac Robinson’s fault that his quarterback played like he had K-Y hands. But Joe will put the handful of Bucs presnap penalties on the new Tampa Bay offensive coordinator.
That was simply inexcusable from a veteran quarterback and a veteran offensive line — and a veteran playcaller.
The Bucs offense looked sloppy and lacking rhythm overall.
Did the Bucs even attempt more than one deep shot against a questionable Bengals defense? Their longest completions were 30 yards from a Chris Godwin catch-and-run, and a 22-yarder of the same variety to Bucky Irving.
While Bucky Irving looked good (8 carries for 45 yards, plus 7 catches for 48 yards), Joe wasn’t impressed by the run selection and execution after hearing all about how Robinson is great at scheming the run. A total of 15 Bucs handoffs netted 3.9 yards per carry.
Robinson is entitled to growing pains, though that won’t help cool off the seat under Todd Bowles.

September 13th, 2026 at 4:29 pm
Yea joe.. you must of forgot about the deep shot.. 2nd play of the game, an Underthrow by Baker Mayfield to Emeka
September 13th, 2026 at 4:30 pm
His offense reminds me of Greg Shiano vibes……just average to bad
September 13th, 2026 at 4:30 pm
Terrible that’s how he used Gainwell.. until
The last quarter every time he put Gainwell in they ran under center . need to use him
In the passing game
September 13th, 2026 at 4:30 pm
Biggest issue I saw was the clock was constantly running down to 1 second when the Bucs were snapping the ball. Over and over again – and it wasn’t by design, they were rushing even at 1 second pretty much every snap.
They have to get that addressed.
I can’t imagine that Baker will continue to fumble like that, so I could see a big bounce back game next week.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:31 pm
@941bucsfan, that’s #6 for You!!!
September 13th, 2026 at 4:31 pm
Not so sure every single time they ran a play the play clock seemed to be a factor. They gotta clean that up and fast.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:33 pm
made a comment on the poll if bucs would win or lose i said depends on who won turnover battle. i didnt think it was a bad game by bucs . there is optimism from me bucs could be decent . saints wont be a walkover however in this division
September 13th, 2026 at 4:33 pm
Mayfield’s third fumble was caused by trying to wait for receivers to get downfield so he could make a long pass?
How’d that work out?
To take deep shots you need an OL that can hold off pressure long enough. Today that wasn’t happening.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:33 pm
Todd’s seat should be super hot if he doesn’t demolish the Browns next week. I actually expect a tight game. Two teams with deep coaching issues and questionable management.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:34 pm
Im not putting too much on Robinson. Our healthy Oline looked like a turnstile the while game. Ugly. FIX IT.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:34 pm
heavye and 941bucsfan… what’s your venmo’s and let’s place a significant amount of money that baker never has another 3 fumble game the rest of this season
September 13th, 2026 at 4:35 pm
Hero ball is fine under the correct circumstances. NOT. EVERY. DRIVE.
BM is not a smart person. It’s that simple.
As for zac Robinson….i guess being able to spell coen isn’t enough.
Todd’s defense was fine.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:35 pm
*the whole game…
September 13th, 2026 at 4:35 pm
yeah o-line was absolutely atrocious today, no doubt about that
September 13th, 2026 at 4:36 pm
Yes rod… reminded me of canales’s first few games… that aspect should improve. Similarly, bakers not going to cough the ball 3 times a game. Me thinks Lavonne David hitting the gym for a comeback after watching Anzalone. Hurst will be getting more touches too….
September 13th, 2026 at 4:36 pm
seemed like robinson was missing a few pages of preparation…..sloppy and no rhythm describes it pretty good. they waste 3 games of pre season and come out this way for opening weekend is, well, the buccaneer way.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:36 pm
obvious… todd’s defense was fine? no pass rush. tight end wide open all day in the secondary and bucs couldn’t stop the run. are you sure they were fine today
September 13th, 2026 at 4:37 pm
He ain’t it
September 13th, 2026 at 4:37 pm
Should baker have to make these improbable, improvised scrambles because this supposedly great offensive line isn’t protecting their 50 million dollar quarterback. Do you want you 50 million quarterback to be under pressure all game. If you don’t want your 50 million dollar quarterback to fumble I have a really great idea. Ready? PROTECT HIM. An awful bengal defense brow beat this highly paid offensive line. Baker was great THROWING the ball. You know, the thing that I want my quarterback to be doing, which is throwing, and not running around because every other play is a Chinese fire drill
September 13th, 2026 at 4:37 pm
Baker lost this game no excuses but it’s just 1 game Baker bros call it like you see it. The bucs should have waited until the end of the season to snig Baker.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:38 pm
Saints QB is better than Baker and not making no any money. There Coach Kellen Moore is also better than toilet Bowles
September 13th, 2026 at 4:38 pm
Choker Mayfield for Sheduer Sanders please. I rather watch rookies makes these mistakes than a overrated media diva any day.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:39 pm
no they shouldn’t have waited because the salary for qbs are gonna jump up to 70 million a year. bakers contract will look great after that happens. this loss is on baker, im big fan of baker but im also unbiased. baker has to be better. defense has to be better and that o-line has to be better as well
September 13th, 2026 at 4:40 pm
Our offense is Zac Robinson Tampa bay falconeers
September 13th, 2026 at 4:40 pm
It wasn’t perfect, and I’m not a super fan of the short game being overused, but honestly that was actually one of the better called week 1 games we’ve ever had imo.
Not his fault we fumbled so much + Baker had a bad underthrow (missed by 10+ yds?) on what would’ve been a monster TD on the 2nd play of the game + Cade Otton refuses to wear gloves despite us all knowing he’s probably going to have an easy drop in most games for no good reason.
Drives were moving, even with the O-line being not so good, to say the least!
September 13th, 2026 at 4:40 pm
This game was really hard to watch. Defense couldn’t stop them, Anzalone missed so many tackles. The run game was horrible and we never made them back off the line with deep throws
September 13th, 2026 at 4:40 pm
Fire Bowles
September 13th, 2026 at 4:41 pm
bucsfan81 and red86 might be mentally retarded with statements like those. it was a bad game, bakers to blame for 2 of his fumbles. but the o-line has to be better as does the pass rush for the defense. the whole team has to be better
September 13th, 2026 at 4:41 pm
Yeah keep blaming everyone but Todd. That strategy works so well.
The Joes are part of the problem. They love losing.
Pathetic
September 13th, 2026 at 4:42 pm
Kenton smith to the front please
GO BUCS
September 13th, 2026 at 4:42 pm
@chad, he may never have a 3 fumble game, but what about a 3 INT Game? Just wait for it……..
September 13th, 2026 at 4:43 pm
$165 million for Baker and how much is Vita Vea making now!! And that is the opening season garbage we just watched in week 1. No excuses for Bowles, Baker, Vea, or any player & coach on this team this season. Time to earn your money guys. Right now it looks like The Glazers just got robbed of there money by player & coach salaries and that bad looking team we just saw on tv today. It’s only week 1 and last season’s bad taste is still lingering for me. Im tired of watching this overpaid crying athletes display a crap football team we just wasted our afternoon watching on tv.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:43 pm
Red86 really wants to trade Baker for Shedeur. The section 8’s are out in full force right now. Mongoloid brain
September 13th, 2026 at 4:44 pm
InthinknTyler Sloigh is a better passer than Baker
September 13th, 2026 at 4:44 pm
You’re not going to turn the ball over 4 times, and win in the NFL
The percentage is very, very low
I’m not sold on this offense
I don’t see any improvement from last season collapse
If we win this season, the defense will have to win it
September 13th, 2026 at 4:45 pm
If you’re holding the ball long enough for it to be considered too long, it’s not protection that’s youre problem. It’s likely field of view, paired with footwork and having the ability to process all that mid decision
September 13th, 2026 at 4:45 pm
This team finished in basement of an improving division
September 13th, 2026 at 4:46 pm
finishes..
September 13th, 2026 at 4:46 pm
What did we do all offseason? Because that looked like a team that skipped the offseason, training camp AND coaching.
Sloppy football, penalties everywhere, poor execution and absolutely no discipline.
And I LOVE Baker, but we just paid this man big money and today he was sloppy too. 3 turnovers, questionable decisions, and the play-calling was atrocious. We targeted basically ONE receiver all game like nobody else existed.
Then suddenly late in the game we remember Hurst is on the roster and start throwing bombs and daggers his way? Where was that creativity the first three quarters?
I can handle losing. What drives me crazy is looking completely unprepared. This team has way too much talent and Baker is being paid way too much to come out looking like that.
Clean it up, Bucs. FAST. 🏴☠️

SAINTS…. Gave lions all they can handle
September 13th, 2026 at 4:46 pm
Thank god Saints went for 2 and lost!!
September 13th, 2026 at 4:47 pm
As a glass half full guy, the Bucs are tied for first place in their division.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:47 pm
lakeland. i see zero improvement in the defense though, so if the bucs are gonna win its going to have to be a collective thing. because o-line looked awful as did the d-line
September 13th, 2026 at 4:47 pm
he is crappy play caller…
grade: F-
September 13th, 2026 at 4:47 pm
Bowles must go. The team was NOT prepared. There is no excuse for this.

More worrying was that we saw this all of last year as well.
Not saying it’s a Baker thing, it’s generally when the OC’s aren’t super confident in what they’re doing, or over think things and get the plays in slowly.
But, it’s just game 1 of the season, hopefully they get it figured out, move at a faster pace.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:48 pm
@Chad
The Saints young qb played better than the guy you put on knee pads every chance you get. Plus, his contract isn’t $50 million dollars.

Amazing roster. Bad coach.

It wasn’t all Baker, the oline sucked. Wirfs looked like ass.
Speaking of overpaid clowns who shouldn’t have been resigned- where was Vita Vea?
Todd’s defense sucked too, but it’ll be a cold day in hell before I ever see you hold Bowles accountable for anything.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:48 pm
borimex 813…. baker targeted multiple receivers. bake threw to who was open. it was criminal for the bucs not to have ted hurst on the field all game. no reason not to run a 4 receiver set
September 13th, 2026 at 4:49 pm
I think Trotter is special. I’m worried that Bowles will ruin his career
September 13th, 2026 at 4:50 pm

we’ve said this before….
Baker can’t see over the OLine….he has to go outside the pocket for throwing lanes

September 13th, 2026 at 4:50 pm
When the entire team looks bad, and it did, that’s on the head coach.
First nail in Bowles’ career coffin.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:52 pm
A six point loss to the Bengals and Burrow doesn’t get you fired. Some real positives. Lots of fight. Past protection was awful. Mayfield had a better QB rating than Burrow. Chase held to 2 catches for 12 yards.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:52 pm
Let’s not throw to Hurst at all until the game is almost over and then let’s throw him 3 in a row!
September 13th, 2026 at 4:53 pm
How about this…crazy, i know….Zac moves to DC and Todd to OC….
gotta try something because this was a major shtshow from both today
September 13th, 2026 at 4:53 pm
It’s going to be a looooong season
September 13th, 2026 at 4:54 pm
Did Ted Hurst look elite there in the last drive?
September 13th, 2026 at 4:56 pm
It looks like we’ve got ourselves a new Dave Canales. At least he can be proud of being tied for first place in this powerful division.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:56 pm
@ Gofortheface30
Never been on any government assistant. But, now we are talking finances. You can’t improve the whole team with a dumb qb and fan like you, since you don’t get how cap space works.
You: “We losing but at least we got Baker who turns the ball over trying to Will the team to victory. He got moxy.” 🙃
September 13th, 2026 at 4:56 pm
I’m not blaming this on the OC. Baker didn’t give this team a chance. When you pay somebody to be a top paid player in this league you expect them act like it. The only thing Baker was baking was sh@t pie and never gave this team a chance. The defensive coordinator still sucks out loud and for what ever reason doesn’t ever take the tight end into consideration. Fantasy football always take tight end going against the Bucs. Doesn’t matter how bad they are. Ugh. Ok. Let’s get it together protect the ball and get after it for the rest of the season.
September 13th, 2026 at 4:58 pm
It’s just one game
There’s 16 more to be played
I’m all in with this Bucs team
September 13th, 2026 at 4:59 pm
They looked alot like the Yucs today. Bucs suck right now. Im sorry, just being real. This team needs a new HC, Glazers should have fired Todd in January. But there gonna wait till this becomes a train wreck of season again before making that move again. Jacob Parrish is hurt week 1. So many injuries on this team again. This team sucks right now. Hope they look better next time we play an equally competitive team again. 165 million for all those fumbles huh QB.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:03 pm
Well there goes another shot at a perfect season
September 13th, 2026 at 5:04 pm
The Bucs have to get out of the huddle quicker. It’s hard to get into any kind of a rythem if you’re constantly having to rush to beat the snap. What was surprising was the two illegal motion penalties on Wirf. I see a huge problem with the Bucs not having anything close to a big power back. With Sean Tucker out you don’t have a lot of confidence in them picking up a yard on the ground when they need it.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:04 pm
all week it will be “oh yea positives blah blah clean up a bit” baker will take the L. the play calling was garbage. bucs defense got exploited seemingly on demand and except for a few plays the receiving game was mostly silenced.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:07 pm
Rod Munch says:
I can’t imagine that Baker will continue to fumble like that,…

September 13th, 2026 at 5:07 pm
We flopped today overall.
There were Definitely “some” right spots. Trotter…. Trotter made game winning type plays because they came when we Really needed them. He was (for the most part) impressive. I now For Sure, Do you regret his pick. Not that I did in the first place but now… he’s looking like a REAL difference maker.
Morrison SHOWED UP a few Very impressive plays and was Certainly note worthy.
Bucky… you know why. When he gets going, it looks like he’s on a Slip n Slide while the defenders look like their standing still! Almost teleporting from one side to the next.
Are a few examples of “Looking Good”
Now .. for the scheme.. Vomit! AS USUAL, on more than most of the plays, the middle of the field was WIDE ASSSSSSS OPEN! That HAS TO CHANGE but IT’S NOT GOING TO CHANGE now is it!?!?!?! More of an OBVIOUS statement than a question.
I’m NOT impressed with the OC’s scheming prowless either. He was FIRED for some reason after all. Sometimes people grow from the experience. Maybe that hasn’t really happened for Robinson yet. Unfortunately, we DON’T HAVE time for him to figure out his job! He BETTER GET BETTER THAN THAT… QUICK!
September 13th, 2026 at 5:08 pm
Just remember guys… we once had Liam Coen running this offense and scoring almost 30/game. I’ll just sit here and remember that magical offensive season- the best we’ll prob see from the Bucs in our lifetimes..
September 13th, 2026 at 5:08 pm
Our $55million dollar a year qb had no clock I. His head for getting rid of the ball. He held it was to long all day and lost this game single handily.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:08 pm
I didn’t like the Trotter pick in the 2nd round. Glad to see I may have been wrong. 10 tackles, a sack and a pick 6. Great start! While the D didn’t look great, I will give them a pass for now because the O put them on a lot of bad situations and they only gave up 26 points.
The O looked like a team that didn’t play in the b e preseason.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:08 pm
Red86 – by all means, keep going. Your level of stupid is actually quite breathtaking. You are so confidently stupid and oblivious to reason that it becomes entertaining in an almost schadenfreude kind of way. No sober brain, no person alive associated with football would take Shedeur over Baker, and I can’t believe that even needs to be explained, but here I am going back and forth woth some dumb baboon
September 13th, 2026 at 5:08 pm
I change my forecast–instead of Bucs winning 8 games I forecast 5 wins. Factoring in a stronger Saints and Panthers teams.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:09 pm
Ok, the over-reaction is expected. Lots of issues. For perspective, the much-hyped Super Bowl favorites, the Rams looked as bad as the Bucs and lost very badly. There will be next week.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:09 pm
8 penalties including many false starts on …. Wriffs?
4 turnover all resuking in bengalls points.
When we weren’t given then free points we looked decent.
Sloppy play on both sides of the ball. We don’t have a head Coach in charge.
Bowels Is a mistake. Baker might just end up playing hard enough to save Bowles job which is mistake. Just good enough to not be fired isn’t good enough.
Baker is our QB, Todd isn’t a NFl Head coach. When he, not if, gets canned he’ll never be a HC again.
When this is all over he won’t even be a top three bucs coach let alone a top 100 NFL HC.
Todd is currently 35 – 34 a bucs coach, 61 – 74 lifetime. There is literally zero chance he ends this season +500 lifetime and maybe not even +500 as a bucs coach.
If any Joe wants to put some money for charity on Bowels getting into the rng of honor for the bucs one day let me know. I be we can raise a lot for money for charity against the joes on this one.
Long season boys. Todd ain’t it but baker might shine that t**d up just enough to save a job and doom us another season.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:11 pm
Not impressed. Very vanilla offense.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:14 pm
Special teams looked good. Not great but better than the last few years. We seemed to get to the 25-30 on most KO. Bucs seemed to hold Bengals to 20-25 on KO. Not many punts today with the TOs
September 13th, 2026 at 5:15 pm
And btw, the MOST noticeable FAILURE… The O line!
What in the Sam H3!! Is going on with THAT? The WORST PERFORMANCE AWARD.. The O line..
September 13th, 2026 at 5:16 pm
You have to protect the quarterback. When he had time to throw he was tearing it up. Especially on the second drive I believe. He was throwing the pill with authority and they drove right down the field. Please protect your qb boys.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:16 pm
The one deep shot Baker under threw it. He isn’t good at the deep ball, but one shot is ridiculous. His last sack fumble I thought Baker was about to let it go, but patted the ball instead. He sucked today, as did most of these overrated players. Team be lucky to win seven games.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:16 pm
Warrenbrookslynch- now thats an intelligent counter. I’m open to that point of view. What I see/saw, is Baker having to run around and make crazy stupid things happen because of protection issues. Now, if someone understands film, and comes to the conclusion that Baker simply isn’t processing quick enough and thus holding on to the ball too long, then that is most certainly a QB issue. If someone can legitimately validate this, then I would love to listen
September 13th, 2026 at 5:17 pm
I dont hate Zach but firing last years ov because of special teams and pathetic ol backups is not going to be something I soon forget either.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:18 pm
I thought we played well minus the fumbles, I think we will score points this year! Knock off the fumbles and offensive line penalties, it looked like the guys didn’t play in pre season lol
September 13th, 2026 at 5:35 pm
Ouch!
It’s almost like the glazers should have fired Todd and kept Coen.
September 13th, 2026 at 5:47 pm
I thought Zrob play calling was good. The Bucs didn’t even punt today. They moved the ball down the field even with Ottens easy drop. That play was an early turning point early in the game I thought. Obviously the turnovers lostnus the game, not the play calling. Early long pass by Mayfield was short to an open receiver for a long gain.
Did Bane make the trip to Cinci because he was barely visible. The best news is we’re still tied for first after the first week
September 13th, 2026 at 5:55 pm
The 4 fumbles are what did us in
Nothing else
September 13th, 2026 at 6:03 pm
The only good thing out of today is that we don’t need to worry about other teams sniping our OC to be their head coach next year.
September 13th, 2026 at 6:10 pm
With both Wirfs and Baker both looking foolish as they did today I’m going to put a lot of blame on Robinson’s hybrid blocking scheme featuring the mid and wide zone concepts that Coen abandoned for the gap concepts Licht had in mind when he built the OL.
Hybrid schemes make it incredibly difficult for QBs to develop pocket “feel” because the line moves a lot and far especially on mid and wide zone looks and the pocket moves with it, then everybody has one guy and one gap for a bit, then back to zone. It’s not so maddening that Baker had to fumble 3 times but the path to 30 ppg from this offense goes through ditching the Tokyo Drift zone chicanery and switching to a power, counter and trap gap scheme with pullers like Coen did with basically these same OL. Duo concepts added can something with this group as well. They did well with those when Brady was under center.
I have to watch the offense for a few more games before this is anything more than a hypothesis but it being the hyena-infested cess pit this corner of the interwebs is get to roasting me immediately, I need correcting of all kinds.
We commenters really outdid Baker today when it comes to a sustained spit show.
September 13th, 2026 at 6:12 pm
We seemed to be running the ball fairly well at 4.5 yards per carry. And that includes the loss yardage by Tez Johnson. Why didn’t we keep pounding the ball? Keep Burrows off the field. Robinson was known as a big 12 personnel guy and i saw us run it about 5 times. Run Da Ball!!!!
September 13th, 2026 at 6:18 pm
Looks like a Todd Bowles team.
September 13th, 2026 at 6:20 pm
They were constantly late getting out of the huddle.
False starts (several by our “all pro” LT) and delay of games.
But Zac Robinson isn’t the one who fumbled the ball away 4 times, leading to 21 Bengals points in the first 20 minutes of the game.
September 13th, 2026 at 6:32 pm
Dink and dunk all game no aggressiveness very trash play calling.
September 13th, 2026 at 7:23 pm
Was out and about today and only saw a few plays and of course it showed first second down running plays and the predictable Baker running his butt off not protected on third and nine and then fumbling. Next time they get the ball same thing first down and second down running plays and another fumble. There is a song that has a lyric “same as it ever was” which repeats till the singer looks like he is losing his mind. That is what torture poor buc fans have been endured watching the same show but expecting different results with same coach, poor pass protection, poor discipline with timing, lining up, penalties, play calling, etc but expecting different results is definition of insanity. 165 million payed so the QB rarely passes downfield, and when finally given the chance the stuporous hypnotized receivers have to come out of the coma from sheer boredom but oopsie have the dropsies by then perhaps for waiting half a century for the play to be called if ever. I will protect my own peace by boycotting watching this team this year for sanity sake. There are plenty of other teams that are better coached and are more enjoyable to watch and are better balanced. This has gone on long enough. As soon as O line gets injured you saw the back up spots on pre-season and a less than average team will go down fast. I am done watching the same schemed undisciplined poorly coached madness and will follow other teams. Please change coaching leadership.
September 13th, 2026 at 7:35 pm
Zac Robinson may be more like Grizzard than we wished he would be. Hopefully he can get it together and grow in the position. We missed an opportunity with not offering the job to Liam Coen when we had the chance. I like Todd Bowels but he needs to succeed.. somehow.
September 13th, 2026 at 8:34 pm
I saw some creative plays that were working. The turnovers just killed momentum
September 13th, 2026 at 8:46 pm
Oh look we just threw another checkdown
