Comps For Kenyon Sadiq

April 21st, 2026

Hyping TE Kenyon Sadiq.

NFL Network’s stats queen Cynthia Frelund believes if you like Vernon Davis as a tight end or if you like Trey McBride, then you will like Kenyon Sadiq.

That’s what the stats dudes at NextGen Stats and the NFL IQ bot tell Frelund to say.

Frelund is a huge fan of the athletic freak of a tight end that is Oregon’s Kenyon Sadiq. She, powered by NFL IQ and NextGen Stats, believes Sadiq will be a star.

Sadiq’s all-around score via the bots/stats is third-best of all draft prospects, Frelund claims; his athletic score, again, from the bots and stats, are “nearly perfect.

Basically, Frelund said, if you like a freak athlete at tight end who produces, you likely want Sadiq.

“This Joe” has been on board with drafting Sadiq for months. The Bucs’ defense is likely four players and two years away from being good. The Bucs offense is one player (field-stretching tight end) from behind exceptional.

What’s wrong with just flat outscoring other teams?

If the Bucs take this guy in the 1st, they’re pretty much admitting they’ll need to outscore teams and their defense is a lost cause with Bowles still there. Probably at least some truth to that.

  2. adam from ny Says:

sadiq could be long gone by 15 anyway

  3. Anon Says:

I’m all on board with making the offense awesome since the defense is a lost cause.

But Sadiq would make the offense worse.

You know what further screws up a room full of mid WRs that can only play inside? A rookie TE that can only play near the line, muddying up the spacing and further limiting the offense.

Get an X to fix the WR room and more oline help. Not a complete waste of space TE.

  4. Stpetematt Says:

Im okay with Licht drafting this guy too as long as he promises to move up and draft Jacob Rodriguez too.

    Butter face.

  6. FrontFour Says:

Defense wins championships. Seems we’ve forgotten that.

    ^^^^^^^

    I’ve had worse. Hahahaha

  8. Guzzie55 Says:

Our WRs are not mids and even if you think they are, having a dynamic TE only takes away coverage from those WRs, our QB is mid though

  9. Buxfanintx Says:

Sounds like the next OJ Howard

  10. Pickgrin Says:

    “from behind exceptional.”

Interesting typo – or were you subliminally thinking of how you would like Miss Frelund positioned? LOL

  11. Kenton Smith Says:

    Kay Adams>Cynthia Frelund.

  12. Obvious Says:

I wouldn’t have any issues with taking him at 15 if he’s BPA. The team is not close to competing to play in February for a variety of reasons.

But if best player on the board is a defensive player you take him. Same reasoning. This team needs talent.

Also – it’s going to be a rude awakening for some on offense this fall I fear. Will it be a poor offense, no. But elite? Not likely. Once the WRs start getting hurt, and if the oline depth gets tested again you’ll see a regression back to closer to average or hopefully above average.

The WRs getting hurt won’t be an if, that’s a when. Hopefully the oline remains in tact, although you can count on Luke to miss a few at least.

  13. OLDSCHOOL1976 Says:

Why was Sadiq nor a starter at Oregon until his senior year? Asking for a friend

  14. OLDSCHOOL1976 Says:

You gotta ask yourself if Sadiq is so good why did he not start sooner and in 2024 why did some guy that was 5-10 160lbs lead that team in receiving? (Tez Johnson)

  15. BigD Says:

Sadiq is an irresponsible pick given all the defensive needs. But, he has a high RAS score and that’s like rainbows and unicorns to Licht. So I can see Licht drafting him. Hopefully it’s the last wasted high value pick by Licht and him and Bowles are shown the door.

  16. Beeej Says:

    This year’s Travis Hunter

  17. Bucs Guy Says:

    McBride >> Sadiq.

This is a big time oversell. Does she get a kickback by pushing to get him drafted before 15?

  18. Ha-Ha-Ha Says:

What was Kelsey stats in college going into the draft?
What was Gronk’s stats in college going into the draft?
Maybe she had a comparative stats with him and OJ Howard.

  19. OLDSCHOOL1976 Says:

Whoever drafts this guy has to figure out if he’s a one year wonder or the real deal. Could go either way and Bucs just can’t take that risk with the pick. They need a sure thing player that can start next 5-10 years. For me that means reaching for LB if you cannot trade back. Maybe Pittsburgh or Carolina will be trading partners depending on how it goes and who’s available

  20. Fanofdabucs Says:

    Another Sadiq hype piece. Awesome.

Bucs still arent drafting a TE in the first round, just ain’t happening.

  22. Bucnbeers Says:

The draft can’t get here soon enough. So tired of hearing about this dude. The possibilities are endless.

  23. BigZ Says:

Do you watch CFB football? Hes a jr, not a sr. Pay attention. A guy named Terrance Ferguson started the year before, hes pretty good player If you Pay Attention you know who drafted him and what round. Again, Sadiq played every receiver position for the Ducks. He also played RB and some wildcat.

We need some solid young FAs on D, not one or two year journeymen contracts. We drafted sorry OLB, etc on D as a Need abd were back needing the same positions again.

Carolina and us have had the worst TE production for years, fact.

Cade Cotton is mid, 11 career tds, 3 catches a game. The rest of the room is scrubs.

    Sadiq is first round talent.

  24. OrlandoBucFan Says:

For someone with Sadiq’s athleticism, his college production does not stand out. His average catch was about 10-11 yards, which is not what you would expect from a player with his speed and explosion. I’d pass on him and instead take a defensive player. You can get good tight ends later in the draft.

  25. BigZ Says:

And we passed on Trey McBride for Logan Hall, nuff said.

  26. Ballwasher61 Says:

You could put a pointy black hat on her and sit her next to a boiling cauldron and she would fit right in….

  27. BigBoiBuc Says:

Another Sadiq article Joe. Great Job! 100 this week. Isn’t it time for a Mike Evans left article? Mindless drivel….

Adding an Underwear star combineTE will not magically make our offense score 40 a game.

  28. Marky mark Says:

Ridiculous that tv is trotting out models instead of former players or coaches.

  29. ‘74 Bucs Fan Says:

Models? She’s a model? For who? Yikes.

Not hating – she just doesn’t do it for me. Neither does Sadiq.

  30. LynchMob50 Says:

Stats are for losers. Wins are all that matter. The Bucs don’t use TE’s due to poor QB play.

Draft defense or prepare for a 3-14 season.

How much more evidence is needed?

  31. 3.28.Evans Says:

Sadiq will be great if anyone else drafts him. If the Bucs draft him he will suck.

  32. Smoke Porterhouse Says:

Honestly, it’d be hard to take the Bucs seriously if they took this guy over someone who can rush the passer in the 1st Round, ESPECIALLY after giving Mr. Average (Otton) $30 million.

  33. Erik with UniqueModernArt.com Says:

The Bucs also currently don’t have a true WR1.

And we have a terrible losing record without Evans over the past 10 years, so replacing him with a blue chip WR1 would be wise.

  35. Stanglassman Says:

I hate these videos that are nothing but a commercial for some crappy product.

  36. Nicholas Carlson Says:

Vernon Davis was not worth his draft pick. And Sadiq’s best college season is not close to McBride’s best. This is a classic case of three good highlights + a good physique + an impressive combine workout deluding lots of people. He was not a downfield threat in college. Look at his yards per reception, longest reception, and yards per game. I will get hyped if we take him because I get hyped for all our picks. I hope we don’t take him and grab someone mean for the front 7.

  37. Tampa2ATL Says:

The game is to secure sure fire 1st round talent player that will contribute to winning games in consensus agreed weak draft. Sadiq is a viable candidate. So is Ioane (who Baltimore will take at #14), CJ Allen/J-Rod, Kayden McDonald who admittedly I am higher on than draftnik cult), and perhaps Mesidor.

These are the safest picks IMHO.

I also think that there will be several quality LB’s & Edge prospects in rounds 2-4. The other TE’s in this draft are not in same class as Sadiq. Nor are there any surefire DL like McDonald later in draft. Plenty of CB’s and OG’s throughout and JL + Bowles (yes, Bowles!) have done a fairly good (not perfect) of scouting/developing OL/CB.

LB is our biggest need, followed arguably by Edge, DL, OG insurance, TE..and then backups at other position groups. Just one man’s opinion.

What’s wrong with just flat outscoring other teams?

    ————

In complete agreeance in terms of the general concept.

But I’m still not sold on Sadiq, however, being that guy. In fact I’d personally rather take the top guard in the draft if he’s there over Sadiq – since that means you’re upgrading the line in that you’re getting a better starter over Ben, and you now have a versatile backup like you had with Hainsey as Ben can play guard or center.

Also this draft has a bunch of receiving first TE’s – so you could still get a very good one in the 3rd round, for example.

However, ideally, the Bucs would just trade back, pickup an extra 2nd or 3rd (or both) and then get one of those TE’s and get an offensive lineman, and still get a good EDGE prospect and one of the ILBs or corners as well.

  39. BigZ Says:

Who was Big10 TE of the year? Who caught the most balls in a single season at Oregon, who led CFB TEs in TDs last year, who ran the fastest 40 for TEs at the combine..ever. Sadiq. Just some stats for the under informed. The guy is a player a mismatch problem. Did you watch him play? Lastly, it depends on how the draft unfolds if they draft Sadiq.

  40. Rod Munch Says:

    ———-

Tez Johnson holds the Oregon Ducks record for the most receptions in a single season, recording 86 catches in 2023.
