Mike Evans Bids Bucs Fans Goodbye

March 14th, 2026

Classy move by former Bucs receiver and future Hall of Famer Mike Evans.

Friday morning, a reader twittered Joe and asked why Evans had not issued a thank-you note to Bucs fans for their strong support since he was drafted by the Bucs in 2013.

Joe thought that was very unusual. Didn’t sound like Evans. Was he that PO’ed at the Bucs?

Joe only needed to wait a few hours.

Evans issued his goodbye through his foundation Friday night. There, he professed deep gratitude for Bucs fans for supporting him along the way and being able to share iconic moments in franchise history with Bucs fans, including winning the Super Bowl at The Licht House.

It seems Evans suggested he will always identify himself as a Bucs player. Texas A&M, too. He noted the Bucs molded him into the future Hall of Fame he became.

“I will always be a Buc at heart,” Evans said. “I will forever be grateful for the unwavering support you gave me and my family. … The bond we built will always mean the world to me.”

Classy move by a classy guy.

Nice post Mike. That’s why we love him and his family.
Will never 4get their IG live on the way home from the boat parade. It was so lit.
Nor all those incredible plays. Could always count on 13.
While hurt he preserved himself for a second career wind. That was good for his legs.
Is what it is. If Im Mike tho I came back home after my injury to revive us again.
He left bcuz of Todd and bcuz of the luster of a healthy 9ers D vs ours filled with holes at the time. Todd pizzed him the f off. And he gonna get the attention in San Fran. He craving
But if we draft an Edge in Rd 1 and David comes back.
We can beat them in the playoffs np.

Class Act. Hurts and will be missed. Not rooting 4 ur team tho.Love their organization
And our Receivers outplay yalls just sayin.
Baker beating Brock next time we play yall. And we just double you with Winfield and #21.
Peace out. Now stop talking ish. And drop one for us

Love Mike. He got fed up with the paltry showing by the leadership of this franchise. He suffered through some of the worst of the Lost Decade. He deserves to make his choice to pursue greatness when this team has chosen mediocrity.

I’ll be rooting for him when the Bucs either miss the playoffs or are knocked out early because the defense is hot garbage.

Dang buc4ever and beej sound like a jealous girlfriend be happy for the man

I will bet a lot of $$ that if coen was our current hc, this post wouldn’t have been needed. Bowels is at least 2yrs employed longer than he should’ve been and that why Evans left

  12. Truth be Told Says:

Cold hard truth .He left here went somewhere else He thinks he has a better chance of winning the Super Bowl. Lost all faith on Bowles as a head coach. Anybody that argues that point don’t know what’s going on and isn’t being honest about it. Why else would have left? But most importantly, why is Todd still the head coach of this team?

  13. Rod Munch Says:

Bum Baker costing the Bucs the playoffs last year also cost the Bucs their all-time best offensive player.

High cost to pay for a loser like Mayfield. That piece of garbage had better come through next year, and not be left with year of excuses about him being ‘hurt’ every time he single handedly knocks the Bucs out of the playoffs.

  14. Simeon4HOF Says:

Meant not rooting for 49ers nor their organization, but support Mike …
Hope he misses his 7 hammy games next year and 8 the following so he can spend more time with family. Hope he gets 1000 yards another year. And hope he gets doubled so the 9ers offense sucks. And hope he gets mad at Purdy sooner than later and they make it as far as a pick 6 by Parrish in January. I think he does well but hammy recovery lingers and happens bcuz he tries to do to much. I think their offense will struggle more than they think. Kittle is out and RB getting old. Their whole offense old 😂😂😂. Defense too.
Mike makers 49ers better. But not better than us if we take an Edge at 15

  15. Simeon4HOF Says:

Mike makes 49ers better but not better than us if we Draft Edge Rd 1

  16. Anon Says:

My heart sank when I saw the “—“ It’s as if they used AI and didn’t bother to take them out.

  17. Simeon4HOF Says:

Baker ain’t no Bum. Try Brock

  18. Kstoges Says:

Classy move? Chat gbt wrote that LOL

  19. ATLBuc Says:

We lost a future HOFer and yet STILL have the best receiver room in the league 1-4 + TE!!!

  20. 3.28.Evans Says:

Thanks, Todd. Thanks, Jason. Thanks, Glazers. 3rd and 28.

    Retain Bowles. Great idea.

  21. garro Says:

    Good luck Mike!

    Next stop Canton!

    Go Bucs!

  22. Simeon4HOF Says:

Baker is way better than Purdy
    Our Oline is better
    Our WR room is better
Their TE is mia next year will be avg rest of his career
And I’ll take Bucky with healthy Guards any day over McCaffery whose prime just ended

  23. Kstoges Says:

Rod munch such a hater bakers a dog when he had a competent o line and a good oc he put up 40 plus touchdowns is he perfect no but he’s far from a bum.
