Todd Bowles: Bucs Have To Fix Bucs

December 28th, 2025

Bucs coach Todd Bowles.

An attempt was made on the Buccaneers Radio Network to try to cheer up head coach Todd Bowles. Sad thing is, he didn’t really want to have anything to do with happy talk or possible playoffs.

Without saying so, Bowles suggested the loss today to the Dolphins and rookie seventh-round pick quarterback Quinn Ewers wasn’t really that the Dolphins won, it’s the Bucs beat the Bucs.

And until the Bucs stop beating the Bucs, playoffs are not on Bowles’ mind.

“We’ve got one more week to work on us,” Bowles said. “[Playoffs] is there for us if we want it.

“We have to take advantage of it. It starts with work, it starts with practice. … It starts with little things.

“You’re out of mulligans now. Here it is: It’s coming down to the last game. We’ve gotten in [the playoffs] different ways the past few years and this is a different way of going about it. We have to work on us.”

Bowles added, if the Bucs keep stubbing their toes, it won’t matter what Carolina does next Saturday or Sunday when the winner goes to the playoffs and the loser goes to Tulum.

“Bucs cannot beat the Bucs and still play the Panthers and try to win,” Bowles said.

Each of the last 4 games have been disgusting 🤮 even the cardinals game was
S—t. The Bucs were 10-7 last season 9-8 the season before 8-9 Brady’s last year and now it looks like this season is going to end in regression at 7-10 this football team needs a disciplinary head coach that will call out players and assistant coaches that are complacent and careless and hold them accountable. This team’s talent has been under performing for 4 seasons. This team needs an offensive minded coach that is going to work closely with Baker like Coen did to maximize his abilities. Regression is unacceptable, the head coach needs to Go, along with the loafers on this team.

  2. Tye Says:

Hopefully the rotten stench of Bowels putrid coaching will reach the nostrils of the owners and they quickly become sickened of the whole ordeal!

    Bowles, STFU!!

  9. Rod Munch Says:

Again, the playoffs are not there if they want it, it requires the Falcons losing either this week or next week. The playoffs are no longer solely in the Bucs hands, not unless the Rams beat the Falcons tomorrow, then it’s back in the Bucs hands.

Bowles just shut up. You have lost this team.
Do everyone a favor and just retire.

The team has given up on Bowles. So have the fans. Fire his sorry Azz along with Every single coach. Rebuild the team with real players, not the current imposters in Bucs jerseys.

    -Hire Joe Brady
-Trade for Burrows ( a long shot…but not impossible )

-The organization is revived, the O-Line is healed and the young receivers thrive

  15. Warrenfb12 Says:

The sad part is the Bucs didn’t beat the Bucs today. The Miami dolphins beat the Bucs. They controlled the entire game after the first drive.

  16. Rod Munch Says:

Again, for as much as people are calling for Bowles head, the fact is, with just a merely middling QB play these last four games, the Bucs win all of them.

I was shocked today, vs a Dolphins team that was ranked 27th vs the run, the Bucs choose to have Baker throw 44 times vs 16 runs, and Baker responded with one of his worst games of his Bucs career with three turnovers and only a garbage time TD drive saving his stat line. To be clear, I said give the ball to Baker, only if he heats up would the Bucs have a chance if they made the playoffs, but Baker responded with yet another clunker.

One more chance, maybe. Assuming the Falcons lose one of the next two anyways.

  17. HC Grover Says:

    Get rid of Bowzo

Baker should have been benched after the loss to the saints. You send a message to the rest of the team that it doesn’t matter who you are, you can be benched. We would be in the same position with teddy running the offense, but maybe alittle more heat under our butts

  22. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Bowles has to be already seeing the writing on the wall….regardless of the outcome next week

The Glazers have to fire him at this point because the majority of fans wants him gone

  23. LJ Says:

That’s even worse. We can’ beat anyone until we fix the 84 major problems before next weekend. Nice.

  24. Bojim Says:

I feel bad for Todd. He sounds like he has given up.

Well with as bad as Baker has been playing, no, there’s no way you bench him when you have such a terrible backup. Also the only chance the Bucs have if they make the playoffs, is for Baker to get on a hot streak.

But not having a legit backup is a huge issue. Lets say, for example, Baker was legit hurt and it wasn’t just people claiming he’s hurt after every bad play – what would the Bucs do? Bridgewater was terrible, put McMillan on the IR for nearly the entire year, and got rewarded with a roster spot, and looked terrible when he got on the field. He clearly should not be in the NFL.

  26. HC Grover Says:

    Get rid of this Bum

Yeah, and trade for Garrett and Crosby as well! Great idea.

Also while I do have lovely long flowing locks, how did you spin that into me being a hairdresser? I forget how you came to that conclusion, but there’s no trades in the hairdresser game.

  29. srbbucsfan Says:

The Bucs need a new Head Coach and a new Defensive Coordinator. Wait a minute… It’s the same guy!!! Hire Steve Spagnuolo and he will hire a bona fide OC to replace Grizzard. And Spags can toss Charlie Strong as the Defensive Line Coach. The defensive line has been marginal all season. Strong took USF no where. Raymond James is bad karma for Charlie. And P.S. Jamel Dean is the most overrated CB in the NFL.

  30. Vegasbuc Says:

    Fire Todd

  31. Pewter Power Says:

Last game of the season and when teams are in playoff mode or playing spoiler and making vacation plans, a Todd Bowles led team is working on fundamentals hahahaha. That’s the Todd Bowles we know “Bucs have to fix the Bucs” basically saying what can I do.

  32. Hodad Says:

Rod, we have Baker because of Bowles. Baker was Bowles choice, and still is. As long as Bowles is HC, Baker is his QB. So if you really want Baker gone Bowles needs to go first.

  33. Eckwood Says:

You can’t let this guy coach the last game !! the improvement towards next year has to start tomorrow !! letting balls coach is a total acceptance of low effort, bad discipline, and accepted excuses !! BTW does the NFL have a betting problem ???

  34. Eckwood Says:

    Bowles

  35. Sal Volatile Says:

I agree that they’re a package choice. It’s why I said I’m not so sure Bowles gets fired even if the Bucs miss the playoffs. What hot coaching prospect is going to want to come in and be stuck with a QB for a year on a huge deal who is coming off a massive losing streak and just got their coach fired?

But, with that said, with as lifeless as the Bucs looked today – if they lose next week, I do think the Glazers will make the move to fire Bowles. But who you get coming in? I’m not sure. I’d think a new coach means a full rebuild – maybe you do draft someone (no idea who that is) and sit them for a year perhaps.

  39. It's Corn Says:

EVERY team beats itself. The good teams are ones that play on fire so that they can overcome those things. And then no one ever talks about those mistakes.

This coach is just full of silly stupid outdated paradigms. Next he’ll say they lost this game to Miami because they didn’t have enough time of possession. SMH.

  40. Darin Says:

    Please lose one more!!

  41. GaBucinRh Says:

No way this team wins next week…even though Carolina got pounded they showed heart, grit, desire and no looking at the other teammates with confused looks on their faces.. this team is beyond broken…they’re like spoiled, petulant children(majority of them)… complete overhaul is needed, beginning with the coaching staff.. nothing they’re saying or doing is sinking in.. you can’t get that back… they’re done

  42. Mike Johnson Says:

LMAO here. Told says, Bucs have to fix Bucs. Lets start by firing you Todd. Thats the first and biggest start.

  43. Boltsfan17 Says:

Fixing this trash starts with Bowles and Licht cleaning out their offices. Anything else is a complete waste of time.

  44. Cybersecurity_intern Says:

Blah blah blah, i am incompetent, blah blah blah

  45. Optimistic Says:

Bowles wore the right sweats today. “Inspire Change”. Hopefully he will inspire the Glazers to make a change and fire Bowles.

  46. Ben Says:

This team is cooked. Mentally, just not there. The confidence, the trust in each other, the willingness to battle and grind through tough times, this team just wants the season to be over. You can see it. You could see it on Evans and Mayfield today. Mayfield needs to figure his $hit out I tell you. For as bad as the defense has been, Mayfield looks lost out there, a shell of himself. I havent seen this from a pro and god knows forever. This js the Carolina Mayfield that we DO NOT WANT. Wake up Baker, find your game already. It is pathetic how hot and cold this guy can be.

  47. ChiBuc Says:

    @Winny

Trade Hairdresser Hot Rod Mulch to Sports Clips…where he can talk sports to a captive audience

That’s just funny. Rod with a captive audience is the perfect fit for the King of Quantity Commenting. Note QUANTITY, not necessarily quality, but I will not disagree with Rod’s Baker take. With that said, crap GMs pigeon-hole their teams with crap backup QBs. Jason built this house of cards and put a spaz in charge of maintaining it….hmm, wonder why it’s toppling?

  48. Aqualung Says:

Get a red bozo nose and two red tufts of hair, and it would fit the Bucs’ genius perfectly.

    What a sham.

  49. StormyInFl Says:

There’s some good deals on UHauls right now. That should cheer him up.

  50. Bucks 'n' Bucs Says:

Surprise!!! Bowles blaming the players again for his pathetic coaching.

  51. South Lakeland Says:

I’ve never been a Todd fan. In my opinion, it was BA that basically arranged this crap show of him being the HC. After the debacle he had with the Jets, he didn’t deserve to take the reins of the sports car this team was at the time. I’ll be glad when he’s gone!!

  52. SBucs Says:

The Bucs coaching staff is playing pre season games the sixteenth game of the season. They don’t game plan, adjust, understand the capabilities of their own players, have no sense of who is doing what at any point in the game. Tucker and White having two touches each is lazy coaching. Nothing more or less. Everyone on the Bucs has become Todd during football games. Clean house Monday after the next loss.
