Firing Todd Bowles Has To Be On The Table

December 28th, 2025

Team Glazer members.

It’s gotten too easy to make a case for firing Todd Bowles.

Joe hears the screams for Bowles’ head from fans directly, sees the rage on social media, and experienced all the realities watching a nearly lifeless Bucs team go winless in December against poor teams.

Arrow pointing down. Way down.

It may seem easy to fire Bowles. Heck, the Bucs could do it tomorrow, hand the team to longtime defensive assistant Larry Foote and hope to catch a spark and make the playoffs. (If you don’t think the Bucs need to catch a spark, well, then you might want to stop reading.)

However, if Team Glazer truly believes the Bucs can get hot as quickly as they got cold, then a decision to fire Bowles becomes a waiting game for the band of brothers and a sister that run the team.

Obviously, Team Glazer wants to make the playoffs and rake in the millions that come with hosting a game. And in the playoffs, anything can happen. So Joe understands squeezing every last drop of juice from the rotten orange that is this season, hoping for a few sweet sips to end the torture.

Team Glazer is not going fire Bowles this week.

But when will it come?

Sober fans know Bowles has proven he’s not Super Bowl head coach material. He’s also proven that his defense has a lot of flaws. More important, how many defensive players are playing to their potential this season? Not many, and that’s on the coaches.

Also, Bowles is presiding over one of the worst Buccaneers special teams units of all time. That’s not hyperbole. And it is on him.

Kicker Chase McLaughlin had a field goal blocked today and also failed to put a kickoff in the end zone. Under orders to put all kickoffs in the end zone because Bowles decided his team can’t cover kicks, McLaughlin came up short in the third quarter and the Dolphins ran a kickoff back about 50 yards.

If you want to say special teams lost the game for the Bucs — again! — Joe won’t argue.

Three weeks ago, Bowles passionately and inexplicably said, “Coaches have done everything they can do.” He meant it. And Joe could argue any coach who would say that needs a new line of work.

Joe doubts Team Glazer would tolerate a similar line of thinking from anyone leading their corporate sales department.

The Bucs offense? That’s a more sticky assessment. The strength of the team entering 2025 was the offensive line, a young but established force, close to an elite unit.

But the O-line has been brutalized by injuries and the front office didn’t deliver quality backups there this season. That’s not on Bowles, and neither is Baker Mayfield turning into Jameis Winston over the past seven weeks.

Joe could write plenty about the offense, but it’s still part of Bowles’ team. The whole approach last week at Carolina was a top-to-bottom swing and miss by the coaching staff.

On the human front, after four seasons to get to know Bowles’ coaching, a large majority of fans dislike Bowles and want him launched yesterday. That should matter to ownership.

Ultimately, the Bucs are selling an entertainment product. And the Bucs have lost nearly all their entertainment value down the stretch.

A Bowles return for 2026 is almost unfathomable.

How could Team Glazer sell that to fans?

The sales job might have to come from franchise quarterback Baker Mayfield himself, who has struggled to find words to endorse Bowles when given multiple chances.

Firing Bowles should be squarely on the ownership table. Logic doesn’t point in another direction.

Joe will close with the words of Buccaneers co-owner and Raise The Flags documentary star Joel Glazer following the firing of Jon Gruden in January 2009:

“Our fans are our stockholders. They’re what we play for — the people in our stadium and the ones that watch on TV. That’s what it’s all about: winning and how they feel about the team. If they don’t feel good about the team, then there’s something wrong. . . I think you all know the sense that’s out there. It was time for a change.”

    7-10 I see coming

  2. Ballwin Bucs Fan Says:

And this time, please go with one of these high IQ offensive coordinators for head coach, please!

  3. GaBucinRh Says:

So sick of waiting until season’s end to fire Bowles…. SEND A MESSAGE!!! Fire him ASAP… c if you can get a heartbeat out if this team after…

  4. Ward Says:

Bowles has been propped up his entire time in Tampa until this season and now you are seeing the product of a true Bowles team. No more BA to lean on. No more Canales to build Baker up and energize the offense. No more Cohen to keep him baking while resurrecting a lifeless running game. This time its just Bowles, and everything has gone to hell.

  5. Curse of Gruden Says:

Joe, help inspire change and ask some tough questions!

  6. Gus-Swayze Says:

A lot of people question me on it but I’m ready to move on from Jason licht as well. Too many misses with early picks in the draft, we have paid a few guys too much, Winfield and Godwin, and the free agent additions haven’t panned out as well either. Love ya Jason, but the 5 year plan is up and it’s time for a fresh mindset.

  7. Mac Says:

I’m a diehard lifelong Buc fan as are many in here. I religiously visit this site but I was never a fan of the hiring of Bowles. I said from day 1 we were never going to win a a trophy with him at the helm. I stated on here years ago we were going to waste the prime years of many of our star players and we did just that. I am truly bummed as it appears dark days are ahead again for this franchise.

I know reports state he is safe but ownership must let him go along with the entire staff. I don’t want any band aids like firing the OC or special teams coach or even hiring a defensive coordinator. All of them must go. Not one part of this team has played well all season and they never get better. Tired of being embarrassed everytime we are on national TV . It’s time for a change. Bring in a young offensive minded coach and hire a real defensive coordinator that will play to the strengths of his players with a modern defense that actually uses their pass rushers the way they should be used!

  8. JimBobBuc Says:

He’s lost this team and if retained, the stink could carry into the offseason. Fire him as soon as the Bucs season ends. Licht likely has a list of candidates standing by….

  9. Aceofaerospace Says:

To paraphrase Coach McKay, “How did you feel about Todd Bowels execution today, Joe?”

  10. Curse of Gruden Says:

Bowles is spending way too much time in the buffet line with Buc legend Shaun King.

  11. BPBucsfan Says:

7-10 definitely coming. I don’t think the Glazer’s will spend the cash. You only get what you pay for. Look at LA Chargers, notoriously cheap for years on HC, finally open wallet and bring in Jim Harbaugh. Even with their offensive line devastated with injuries, they’re still in the playoffs. Shad Khan opens his wallet and now Jacksonville which hasn’t done anything for years is now 12-4 in Coen’s first year. Now doing for T Law what he did for Baker.

  12. Aqualung Says:

Thank you Joe. Now, get Ira to make the case.

  13. GaBucinRh Says:

Every fan deep down wants a victory next week but does anyone think there’s a realistic chance that happens unless something drastic is done like sending Bowles on his way?? No matter what happens the rest of the season, he’s gone so why wait… interim coach for a week and start the process of finding a new HC that can guide a team responsibly with accountability

  14. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Come on 7 – 10!

    LFG!!!

  15. Itzok Says:

HAS TO BE? it’s mandatory at this point even if the panthers screw up and let the bucs in

  16. BPBucsfan Says:

I mean Sean McVay fired his special teams coach after Rams loss to Seahawks, what do we do here after special teams blow it week after week? Absolutely nothing.

  17. Timon Says:

Fire Baker Mayfield too. And Grizzard! And ST coach as well!!

  18. Mac Says:

GaBucinrh they stated including Barber Bowles job is safe. He isn’t going anywhere even though not one fan wants him back next year. We will suffer through same crap next year. Baker and Bowles both gone along with Licht after next year and the total rebuild begins. That’s my fear. This may be our last game that means anything in many many years. Hope I’m wrong but have a gut feeling I’m not.

  19. gotbbucs Says:

There wasn’t an offensive coordinator on staff this year that could save the day. It really might be that simple. That, and the offensive line is a shadow of itself, which is a much bigger issue than anyone is giving it credit for.
I also think Bowles knows deep down that his defense won’t be successful with these players no matter who is calling the plays, and he doesn’t want to see someone else from his defensive staff get burned by that fact. He’s going down with this ship and he isnt going to throw any of his assistants overboard to try to save himself. I respect that, but it doesn’t change that fact that his way isnt working and he and his staff should be replaced.

  20. BPBucsfan Says:

Baker just needs a competent OC, he had one last year. When Brady left the fire 🔥 went with him. Been a downward spiral since then. Probably back to another lost decade. I forgot to mention Vrabel and Johnson too. Bears long mired in mediocrity bring in Ben Johnson and look where they’re at. Patriots were out in the wilderness for a little while but now have Mike Vrabel and contending for #1 seed in AFC.

  21. Watch Daddy Sling It Says:

Given their overall history of coaching hires, I’m not sure we should be thinking of a change.
Seriously, Gruden and BA (and TB12) standout in a wasteland of bad hires.

Seriously: Schiano was their *second choice* – they wanted Chip Kelly!

  22. BuccinBaker6, Says:

Klint Kubiack please if not him Fix this Defense an Get Chris Shula please

  23. D-Rome Says:

Anyone rooting for a Bucs loss next week is not a fan.

  24. Mac Says:

I want Rams offensive coordinator personally. Someone from thr McVay tree please. But unfortunately Bowles won’t be fired. Licht doesn’t have the balls to fire his friend.

  25. KingBob Says:

Bad football comes from the top down. If you feel the talent is good, better start looking at the coach if the talent isn’t performing.

  26. Southern BucLife Says:

    ………….. 7 – 10!

    LFG!!!!!

  28. BrianBucs Says:

As badly as the Glazers need to fire Bowles, you have to remember that his best buddy Arians still pulls a lot of weight at One Buc

  29. Unknownoutlier Says:

If Atlanta wins the next 2 games the Panthers win the South even if the bucs win

  30. AMI_Chris Says:

I’m so burned out by the last 1-7 stretch that I simply don’t care any more. The best thing for this franchise would be to have Carolina win the division. This would guarantee change.

  31. john Says:

    what do you think about hiring monquin as head coach.{pardon the spelling}

  32. Watch Daddy Sling It Says:

Play tight man coverage. Blitz that kid from every angle. Switch to some variant of a 4-3 and get another LB out there if you have to. Do NOT plan on running 30 times or else. Make Horn beat Evans.

Don’t get cute and have Bucky in the wildcat. Don’t go for 4th with like no rhyme or reason.

Test them, pressure them, fight to the wire. If you still lose, I’d be okay knowing it was a back alley fight and not three hours of wtaf

  33. Tye Says:

Yes…. Falcons win next 2 then 3 way tie between Panthers; Falcons; Bucs which then the Panthers win the tie!

  34. Mobucs Says:

So much negativity from “fans” of a team preparing for an elimination game for the playoffs! And a home game against a team that barely edged them on that team’s home turf only a week ago. People seem to have no respect for the Bucs’ opponents, who are all “bad teams” or “tanking.” This is the NFL; every game is a challenge against the top professionals in the world. Losing by 3 or 5 points is not a humiliation, nor does it mean you are not competitive. The Bucs have had an extraordinary run in getting into the playoffs, but many here seem to think it’s a divine right or something. Every team has down years, and the league is built to keep the churn going.

  35. firethecannons Says:

Joe says: A Bowles return for 2026 is almost unfathomable.

How could Team Glazer sell that to fans? ************ Yeah no way that will fly, watching Bears vs 49rs like a whole different game. No longer worrying over this stupid team, Baker really sucks–damn –he is as bad as Jameis. Can never trust him again–he is very bad over and over and over. Bowles and this defense do not belong in the NFL. Bowles defense is always very bad. If Glazers do not care enough to clean house I sure as hell no longer will give a fuk!

  36. BucsFan81 Says:

Fire Bowles. Go get someone like Joe Brady as head coach. Then have him pick his DC and move on. No matter what happens we need an offensive minded head coach. We won both super bowls that way.

  37. firethecannons Says:

and I aint the only one out here feeling like this

  38. Woodman Says:

We better hope Atlanta does not win tomorrow night or they can knock us out of playoffs even if we win next week.

  39. Obvious Says:

The ironic part about not dismissing him tonight is there is such a thing as getting a temporary bump from a coaching change in season.

We might actually win if they canned him before Monday.

Not gonna happen of course but ironic.

  40. Bejeezusbelt Says:

Well the worst part in this whole deal is the whole coaching staff gets gutted if Glazers decide for change. If they don’t change, are there any players that will buy into this next year? It feels like Bowles has lost the team. When you cut the whole staff that is pretty much a rebuild, coaches and players, as you need the player personnel to go with the new coaching staff. You bring in offensive head coach the players need to fit the system, how many offensive head coaches are there that will be available to turn a team around this cycle, 1 maybe 2. If the Bucs change it needs to be an offensive minded coach, but again that’s limited. There will be at least 8 head coaching vacancies this off-season, is this franchise going to reel one in? Doubt it. I think there are better options out there for coaching hires . If you bring a defensive coach to be your head coach how many offensive coordinators come through here and move on to coach other teams. Funny, Todd has a coaching tree with two head coaches in the playoffs that were his offensive coordinators. Would this team be better off with one of them as the head coach? We will never know. It just seems to me when the Glazers inherited Todd that seemed to tie their hands for the future and condemn the Bucs to perpetual averageness. I’m getting more pissed every week seeing this team implode. I don’t want to restart the lost decade and a half ass rebuild for the next 15 years. Unfortunately I just feel like we are in hard place as Bucs fans.

  41. Obvious Says:

And of course he should be fired as quickly as possible if not tonight.

That’s not to say any of the slackers or bums on the staff and roster should be excused. Bouncing them when you can contractually/within reason with the cap, should also be automatic.

  42. Lakeland Says:

We have a lot of needs

    Head Coach
    General Manager
    Quarterback
    Linebackers- Inside and Outside
    Assistant Coaches

    These are our immediate needs

  43. firethecannons Says:

Fck off MoBuc we all are allowed to express our feelings here, this team sucks bad–worst in the league for the last 8 weeks. It is not acceptable to give Baker, Bowles and Gizzard a pass. They all need to be fired.

  44. Obvious Says:

IMO just because you change out the head coach doesn’t mean you are getting rid of every coach on the staff. If they’re smart they get rid of the ones they believe are worth keeping and vice versa. Plenty of good coaches have kept coaches from their predecessors.

  45. Jeff Says:

    A-men!

  46. GhostofBrady Says:

Todd Bowles is a stand-up person and good coach. He’s been living off the SB win 4 years ago. But we don’t play Kansas City every week. His defense is easy to figure out for today’s west coast offenses. The bend don’t break no longer works when only leading by 1 score in the 4th.

Grizzard isn’t ready to call plays for all 3 downs and game plan. We need an offensive coordinator head coach from the McVay tree directly. It’s clear we should have kept Coen and let Bowles go. Let’s go back to what we know works. A direct McVay acolyte like Mike Lafleur is long overdue as a HC choice. The Rams are tearing up the league. The coaches on that staff love Baker. Our offense is stacked with young talent like McMillan, Egbuka, Otton and Irving. Am I the only one seeing the obvious fit?

  47. Inwoodjeremy Says:

3-0 in Superbowls. The current staff and roster isn’t it, time to cross the bridge. With BA’s contract expiring this year it makes it easier for Todd to retire. What’s the point of keeping them around when all three phases need to be overhauled? The only reason is to pinch more pennies. The pinch a penny team isn’t entertaining me anymore. Todd’s got further from the Superbowl the longer he’s been here.

  48. RoninLaw Says:

What happened in-between this Season, where the Bucs had an NFL Power Ranking of number one, Baker is considered MVP and then This …I am Soo confused, how or where did they loose the winning edge?

  49. bud liked tht bucs Says:

never wins a prime time game does not win a playoff game a 500 coach at best defence scheme is outdated is not a motivator arians and brady were a mirage weak south division any more reasons ? GM too time for golf

  50. Watch Daddy Sling It Says:

It’s difficult to evaluate with the state of this division. You’re going to end up with one or two games separating 1st and 4th, and this has been the case for three years straight.

From an organizational standpoint, you might be better off going 2-15 and blowing it up, but that’s just about impossible in a division where there’s parity within the division, but below average against everyone else – there’s a false sense of “we’re close”.

Then your picking in the teens, still in cap purgatory and always trying to dig out.

I would not at all be surprised by or unhappy with a division title and maybe a wild card upset, but I do think there’s hard work ahead in figuring out where we’re really at.

Not sure you should make a change until that’s really decided in the front office

  51. Sly Pirate Says:

Remember This: Bowles was FORCED ON THE BUCS

He wasn’t selected. He didn’t interview. Arians dumped him in our laps.
Licht stuck with him while we overcame cap issues.

  52. Rod Munch Says:

Remember this: If Baker isn’t complete inept and terrible these last four games, the Bucs literally win all four of them. What hot coaching prospect is going to want to come here and be stuck with a QB who is on a massive losing streak and just got his coach fired?

  53. Leopold Stotch Says:

I’m tired boss, dog tired. That’s just the only way I can describe it. Of course I care and want the team to win, but I’m just numb. Like I expect to lose. My head says yeah with how things are there’s no way we’ll win.. My heart wants us to win every game, don’t get me wrong. I just know it won’t happen. If by any small chance we do win, Bowles still HAS to go. I don’t care if he just resigned. I don’t care that he’s a good person. This season has ended up being an absolute disaster I still stand at my original point and say BA absolutely screwed us when he retired and we basically HAD to take Bowles. I will say that I thought it could have worked. Clearly not. And all of you calling for Licht, just ask yourselves this question… If we could draft a prime Lawrence Taylor, do you think he’d dominate in Bowles scheme dropping into coverage?

  54. Lakeland Says:

We need to bring in a QB to compete with Baker Mayfield
I mean honest to good open competition
No more free rides for Baker, he gotta it

With Bowles and the coaching staff gone
Every player will have to earn his keep
That’s the beauty of a new regime in town

  55. Lakeland Says:

We know Baker is coming back

But he gotta earn the right to start

  56. Mike Johnson Says:

Its hard to watch our Bucs. Its no longer fun. Its outright stressful. Because we know and see, they cannot stop opposing Offenses. Not at all. And our special teams is quite laughable. Fans need and want a change. I personally know many fans, including myself, who want us to lose to the Panthers. We believe a lost hastens Bowles departure. And that’s pitiful, but that’s what we want.

    ——–

Pretty much every hot young coaching prospect is going to want to build with their own QB. Basically you’re getting a retread if Baker is back, and Baker will be back because he’s too expensive to cut ($42M), and no one is trading for him at this point.

Basically the best thing for the Bucs is to win next week, make the playoffs, and at the very least look fantastic in the playoffs – and then trying again next year, and when/if it fails, you fire everyone and do a complete roster reboot.

But committing to another middling coach who is tied to Baker isn’t going to get any different results – it’s just dragging everything out and then you’re stuck with a new coach who gets a mulligan year because of the Baker contract and then next year at this time when the team is 6-11 or 7-10, everyone will want the new coach fired.

  58. Bosch Says:

    Great analysis, Joe.

  59. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, the lucky rabbits foot the Bears have had all year just got shoved up their rear end.

BTW, who will regress greatly next year? The Bears. No team gets so many lucky undeserved wins and then carries that through to the following year.

Also I think this just eliminated the 49ers as being a potential match-up in the playoffs, meaning it will be Seattle or LA at Tampa if the Bucs win next week, and assuming the Rams beat the Falcons tomorrow night.

  60. Watch Daddy Sling It Says:

@Rod Munch – now that was pretty much spot on.

  61. FortMyersDave Says:

Well said Joe. It seems like all those associated with the media are afraid to simply cal for Bowles to be summarily launched. Yeah, a case can be made for Licht to go as well but he will get a pass because he brought in BA and TB12. Mayfield? Yeah, he is not going anywhere thanks to Licht guaranteeing his 2026 salary but he has to have competition for the starting job. Licht needs to invest in a solid backup, there will be some names floating out there. Baker apologists will point to the fact that the OL is a mess, it is a good point, Wirfs had that late summer setback and then it was injury after injury, Jason had no backups and the training/conditioning staff might be at fault but they will say that Bowles’ Camp Cupcake hamstrung them. There are so many faults that everyone can justifyably point fingers. In the end Todd Bowles is at the center of many of the issues (as are Licht and Baker) but it is easier to launch Bopwles than Licht and the Glazers are not launching Baker as he is guaranteed $30 to 40 million next season.

  63. Sal Volatile Says:

I can’t (after 50 years) call myself a fan anymore. I don’t give a crap what the owners do. I really thought that the owners had built a solid foundation for the future. I really believed this franchise had finally turned around. The NFL has decayed into a corrupt RICO case. Simply put the Glazers blew it big time. The final straw for me is the constant hogwash being regurgitated day after day and game after game. How stupid do the owners think the fans are ? I think the owners are in such a bad position that their only choice may be Gruden. It will take me some time to totally turn my back but it will happen I regret to say. Enough is enough. There are other more important and enjoyable things in life.

    ——

Man, so many people are going to be angry if the Bucs win and make the playoffs. Unbelievable as a kid who was raised watching Bucs football in the 80s to be at a time when people are mad at being a playoff team.

But I do agree, I’m glad we’re not in prime time since Baker is even worse than usual in those games, going 2-9 in Tampa in that situation. Also glad to get it over early – one way or another.

  66. Sal Volatile Says:

    One last thing;

Thanks Joe for being a stand up guy with that article. The owners can eat their own words. I hope it tastes to them the same as the turd sandwich they have allowed to be fed to the fans.

  67. Rod Munch Says:

Here’s a simple one year solution… if he’d do it. You think Arians would come in as co-head coach for one year? He’s very very protective of his guys, and Bowles is one of them. That would get us through the one Baker year and see if this team has anything left. Heck I’d even tolerate Arians bringing back Leftwich if Bruce would come back.

    Please Arians, one more time…

  68. RagingBrisket Says:

Licht is just as responsible if not more for the lousy team we see assembled on the field. Accountability should come from the top and he is the head guy in charge.
    Fire Licht first

  69. Oregon Buc Says:

On the bright side, once we lose to the Panthers next week, we have a shot at the #8 overall pick. We could do some damage by drafting that high

  70. FortMyersDave Says:

Rod Munch, Arians would be nice but there is a chance he retired in the first place because of health concerns, not that Tom Brady wanted him launched. Also, Bowles would still be calling a defense that everyone has figured out. Arians might fix the O and he’d fire McGaughy but he would still let Todd run his over-rated and stagnent D. Plus, most Buc fans would hate it if Arians had the big one while screaming at all the loafers on this squad which has to be considered……..

  71. Trey Says:

That “Coaches have done everything they can do” line just explains Bowles in a nutshell and why he’ll never be a successful coach in the NFL. Good bye Bowles!

  72. Marcus Says:

If I had my pick for a new head coach, I would either go with the OC with the Rams, or the DC with the Lions. I like what they have done and also, the recent success of head coaches have been younger guys with little to no head coaching experience. It’s a gamble, yes, but recycling old head coaches has very little success, plus, grabbing a guy from college has too many variables to calculate.

  73. Obvious Says:

Licht should absolutely be held accountable. This also falls on him.

IMHO I don’t think we should move on from him yet. I’d like to see how he works with another HC. I don’t want the HC reporting to him.

  74. Alanbucsfan Says:

The Defense lacks talent and the Defensive scheme is designed for an offense that can score 25-30 points per game.
On Offense, you can believe Mayfield has suddenly turned into a bust, or you can accept that Grizzard is not qualified or is in over his head and cannot scheme an effective passing game or both.
Mayfield looks confused and desperate, not confident and comfortable- is that because he’s unprepared or because the schemes are easily defended?

  75. MelvinJunior Says:

Rod Munch, Arians would be nice but there is a chance he retired in the first place because of health concerns, not that Tom Brady wanted him launched.

    ———-

Well, yeah, he retired because of health issues for sure – no idea where the non-sense about Brady comes from, but that obviously isn’t true, there is no way Brady spent 5-mins in a room with Leftwich and wanted him to be the sole say in calling a game.

But in any case, health issues can improve – and Arians should be in football, not turning red yelling in front of the media after a loss like last week. If he’s going to get worked up anyways, then come back – talk about a huge jolt of energy in the arm that this team needs. Just him yelling at Bowles not to be a p—y and to stop playing zone and get aggressive, that alone would get the Bucs another 4-5 wins. Also he’s finally a guy who would tell Baker when he sucks, and again, Baker is at his best when people are telling him he’s playing awful – he falls apart when people tell him he’s doing good. Arians would solve a lot of issues by just being around the team and yelling at people.

How bout “your boy,” LICKT!? Is HE “on the table,” too!? When, you know exactly WTF HE IS. And, what he’s done. When, you can literally question and WIN the argument, on his every move. There is NOT ONE single reason to continue retaining him. He has completely MISSED on everything, and has been woefully substandard and with a subpar track record, throughout his entire career. Brady was the GM who set the standard and changed the culture of THAT TEAM. And, ENOUGH of “well, he built the roster and was the reason for Brady choosing this team, & etc.” BUUUULLLLL. That’s the same BS argument that is used for BOWLES, “well, HE was the one who picked and chose Cohen.” Just even more of the SAME BULL. Also, the BUCS wasn’t even CLOSE to being Brady’s 1st, 2nd, or even 3RD CHOICE. Hell, when there were very few ‘options’ left for HIM to begin with, after Miami, San Fran, & the Raiders. So, PLEASE. Just STOP. It’s all Smoke and Mirrors, and YOU PEOPLE continue to fall for it. I trust MY OWN EYES!!!! 💯

@ BucWild410 Says: “On the table?!?!?! From a 6-2 start to a 7-10 finish is a collapse of epic proportions and coaches are not supposed to survive this.”

Neither do GM’s. Especially, after 12-YEARS, and with a LOSING 92-104 RECORD (including the Brady years, AND a ‘historically’ WEAK Division for 4-YEARS running).

  80. Ben Says:

HAS TO BE!!! NUFF SAID. WHAT OTHER COACH WOULD SURVIVE THIS EMBARRASSMENT!!! YEAR AFTER YEAR THEY SHOOT THEMSELVES. WEEK AFTER WEEK THEY LOSE EMARRASSINGLY IN PRIMETIME GAMES, TO BACKUPS!!!

  81. SOFIERCE Says:

If we fire bowls tomorrow, we will win the Panthers game 45 to 3 all of a sudden

  82. You gotta make addjudgmints. Says:

We seek to forget : Mayfield gets us in a position @ the end of the game WHEN WE WIN….it is always on him to bail the team out. I noticed that they are. ” SPYING ” A defensive back on him . they know his tendencies…where he likes to go to get that crucial FIRST DOWN …and suddenly that. SPY is in position to make that interception. The flat is the area where they are DARING Mayfield to throw the ball. Its like they have this SPY playing off JUST ENOUGH so it looks that the receiver is OPEN……Mayfield makes the throw….SPY goes into that area and makes the PICK !!!!!THEY KNOW WHERE HE LIKES TO GO WITH THE BALL. !!! Don’t know why the middle of the field is not be EXPLOITED with BIG MIKE. !!! Those crucial throws make all the difference in pulling out a win in those close games. !!!!

  83. J Says:

“Anyone rooting for a Bucs loss next week is not a fan”. Under normal circumstances, yes. These are not normal circumstances. If we somehow win the South, things will seem ok again. A lot about drafting, injuries have cost us, etc. We get to keep Bowles and Grizz due to still getting into the playoffs and next year will look like this again. Is that’s what we want?

  84. Gman Says:

As if the Glazers care….every time you guys renew your season tickets the Glazers laugh at you.

  85. Jason Anthony Sturgess Says:

Timon, you have a bug mouth. Who replaces Mayfield. Don’t mention anyone who the Bucs can’t get? The answer is no one so shut your mouth.

  86. Jason Anthony Sturgess Says:

Most of you people are idiots. There is no one good enought o compete with Baker Mayfield. Name one. Kyle Trask? Rod Munch?

  87. DRob Says:

It’s clear to me the bucs have 2 paths every hiring phase. Established name with head coaching experience, or cheap stopgap “swing for the fences” type.

They over value “ex3cutive” “ran an organization” experience. They will not hire someone else’s offensive coordinator. They really like the head coach tk be ceo of football first. (Or at least vp). Organizer ahead of x/s or motivator. They want someone who can give them a strong executive pitch and speak to KPIs.

Or- a Raheem Morris because their search failed to land big fish so swing big with a cheap guy. We loknawesome if it pans out , and if it doesn’t no big risk

    Bellicheck.

  88. Aqualung Says:

Truth is every player. Every. Single. Player.

Has regressed under whatever it is this “head coich” smears them with every week. I’ve never seen a team embrace regression so fully. As has been said a Gabillion times already, a select roster of hall of fame players in their prime would have a hard time making the playoffs under Todd Bazoon.

  89. HC Grover Says:

And the Bucs imploded with a mighty crash

    Fans on the run

  90. Stpetematt Says:

Baker having an extremely hard time because of turnstile guards and now an underperforming left tackle. Without offensive linemen you can’t step into your passes. Last year the O-line was great and Baker was excellent. He can score lots of points if he gets protection. That’s more than I can say about 2/3 of the QB’s in the league. PROTECT HIM and win. Don’t and lose. It really is as simple as that. We need legit backup guards and a swing tackle. That DON’T SUCK.

  91. Joe in Michigan Says:

Is 5 years long enough to see the same mistakes being made by the defense, with the HC/DC saying they’ll get it fixed, to no longer believe he’ll fix it? How long have we seen poor tackling? The better part of 5 years?

The Glazers didn’t become billionaires by running their investments into the ground. They’ll know what to do…If not, I’ll just find something else to waste my time on, I’m tired of watching Todd Bowles boo-boo defense.

  92. heyjude Says:

Neatly said, Joe. And watching the well-done documentary too; the Glazers from their dad down loved the fans and want the best for the Bucs and our community. They love the energy fans bring. Right now there isn’t a lot of good vibes. They see this. Plus, they want to keep going strong for their dad, for what he built. His and their legacy. And sadly, since the bye the thrill has slowly burned out.

I agree with Mac and others too. It can’t be a band-aid at the end by only letting Todd go. It will need to be an overall revamp. Need to also re-evaluate the medical and trainers.

During Brady’s time here; players and others wanted to come here to play. Yes, there are a lot of disgruntled players on other teams too, but would they want to come here now and play? That is question that the Glazers may be asking now too. Go Bucs!

  93. Doughboy Says:

He’s a good guy. So was Dungy. Good guys sometimes finish last. He’s lost control of the team. Just remember Dungy didn’t know he was fired till he heard it on the news.

  94. heyjude Says:

    Sadly so, Doughboy.
