Dolphins 20, Buccaneers 17

December 28th, 2025

Joe has figured it out. The Buccaneers collectively hit the snooze button on Halloween and never woke up!

What an embarrassment today was in Miami. Joe sure hopes Team Glazer took notice … and notes … and action.

This is what going from 5-1 to to 7-9 looks like.

It reminds Joe of when Lovie Smith’s Bears went 7-1 in 2012 before finishing 10-6 and missing the playoffs. That got Smith fired — and a year later embraced and hired by Tampa Bay.

Today, the Bucs looked rather lifeless on the sidelines before the game and that held through much of the afternoon.

Strong leadership? Nope.

Dolphins rookie seventh-round pick quarterback Quinn Ewers was 10-of-15 for 144 yards and 2 touchdown passes — at halftime. And Miami ran the ball well, too.

Baker Mayfield made mistakes all afternoon with a few heart plays mixed in.

The Bucs’ special teams reared its ugly head twice. A blocked Bucs field goal ended the half and proved critical, and another kickoff coverage mishap was a critical play in the third quarter.

Tampa Bay came out with a little life in the third quarter but it certainly was not a postseason-on-the-line vibe. What’s wrong with this team? Joe has a damn good idea.

The Bucs scored 17 freakin’ points. Against Miami, a team that had its stud safety sitting out and already traded one of its top pass rushers. And it took garbage time with no timeouts to do it. Unreal.

In what feels like a sadistic ritual from the football gods, the Bucs (7-9) are still in the playoff hunt. The Panthers (8-8) lost at home to Seattle, setting up a winner-take-all for the NFC South crown next weekend in Tampa.

… Um, that should be a hot ticket.

You know it’s bad when Joe is posting the score before the game is officially over

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

  3. Told You Says:

The Glazers should fire Todd tonight. But the greedy b@st@rds won’t because they are hoping we win next week and they get a playoff game to collect another nickel.

  4. heyjude Says:

    Yay to Evans!!!!

  5. Stallworth Says:

The better coached team won today.

    Mike McDaniel 35W-32L
    Todd Bowles 34W-33L

  6. Bee Says:

As I’ve said many times. Baker and Bowles have this team going nowhere fast

  7. stvcl Says:

    Shame! Shame! Shame! Jeeze…

  8. MadMax Says:

We shot ourselves in the foot

  12. BUCDADDY Says:

Another embarrassing loss to a team that wanted it more than us. Yuc! Just pathetic!

  13. Timon Says:

Baker Mayfield Sucks along with defense.

  14. BucWild410 Says:

The Bucs were 6-2 and they will end the season 7-10 and the coach is NOT on the hot seat?!?!?!?

  15. Marine Buc Says:

One step closer to getting rid of a bad HC and a bad QB and a bad OC…

  16. StickinUp4Centers Says:

Who would have thought that by the end of the year, Tyler Shough would be the best QB in the division?

  17. Buc Fan Says:

On the bright side- Jalen McMillan looks real good after a scary injury, and so does Godwin

  18. WillieG Says:

They looked like they were playing a preseason game. No energy. No enthusiasm. Sloppy play. Too many mistakes. Just like a preseason game.

Looks, like we need a new coach and a new quarterback.

  19. Bnasty25 Says:

Dean seemed happy to be out, Bowles grinning while we lose, horrible play calling both sides .. no o line and d line drops into zone every other play. Bowles hasn’t adjusted once with defense since he ran cover 0 and Cooper caught that ball on Winfield. Idk why he’s dropping our d line into coverage more now??

  20. Lakeland Says:

    My personal opinion

Jason Licht ,Todd Bowles, Baker Mayfield

This Trio has got to go
    There’s no doubt about it

  21. Bucsfan951 Says:

Hey Rod, tell us what you think about Baker. I don’t think we all understand what your feelings are about him.

  22. Jeff Says:

Joes -scream non stop for Bowles firing! It helps. Puts pressure on Licht.

  23. UKBuccaneer Says:

Sure. Go find a QB. Then watch the same struggles next year. And cry some more.

  24. Bucsalltheway Says:

Called it…Darren waller didn’t hurt us as I predicted but we was toast by halftime and packed in…had to make the final game a Doo-sie well they laid thier beds either wake up or go to sleep at this point…baker boys who fault was this? Lol

  25. Bucsalltheway Says:

Congrats to liam Coen making nfl history today could have been us but we offered him peanuts and a escape route, now how did a man squeeze so much from this talented roster last year and today couldn’t find a groove outside of godwin and McMillan.

  26. Vegasbuc Says:

    Fire Todd

  27. Bucmike Says:

Firmly believe we gotta have a coaching change, hopefully an offensive minded one. Keep Baker, draft a Q.B. for future. New coaching, same players and we’ll be back on top. Everyone in our div. has creative coaches and young up and coming Q.B.s. Glazers need to wake up and smell the crap covering this team right now. Oh yeah, next weeks game will be full of Panther fans. Sickening……

  28. ColoradoBuc Says:

    1. Who is collecting money for the “Fire Todd Bowles” billboards? I want to sign up!

    2. I hope the Glazers have the next coach in mind and are ready to sign him. Most of the coaching staff should go as they are too old and inept.

    3. I guess telling the payers that their jobs were on the line didn’t have the desired effect. Stop trying to get “that man” people–get people that can play hard.

    4. Next year is going to be really tough for Bucs fans with a whole new coaching staff and so may holes to fill on the team. Name a position that doesn’t need an upgrade. Oh, yes. The kicker.

  29. PoopyPants Says:

    JOE IS Great!

  30. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I believe at this point that Toad Bowels could f up a wet dream.

  31. Les Says:

WE NEED AN OFFENSIVE COACH TOO LIGHT. A FIRE UNDER THEIR A**, JUST LIKE COHEN, JUST LIKE BEN JOHNSON, JUST LIKE A MIKE DIDKA, GET RID OF THE STRAGGLERS AND TRADE UP AND GET FREE AGENCY. ! ENOUGH OF THIS MEDIOCRE FOOTBALL PLAY. THAT OR SELL THE TEAM TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS FOOTBALL.NOT A BUNCH OF SOCCER GUYS AND BOARD MEMBER.

  32. Tony Says:

I’m sure Bowles is gonna blame South Beach & how they must of been distracted by a bunch of the good looking girls.

  33. Td Says:

If the glazers don’t make a move in the offseason the better be ready for paper bag ball. Toilet Bowles has proven he’s done and nothing says differently

  34. Mac Says:

Bowles isn’t being fired. It’s been reported from multiple credible sourced including our own Ronde Barber. Next year we will go through this same BS. Being a Nole fan as well may just take a season off from football. No need to waste my energy getting mad over what we already know will be.

  35. Bojim Says:

    Nope.

  36. Bosch Says:

Regardless of what happens next week Bowles needs to go. I mean how clear does it have be to acknowledge Bowles is a failure. He should have been gone three years ago.

Oh, and by the way, Joe. You might want to check Poopy’s post.

  37. Boltsfan17 Says:

Purge this garbage roster and toss Licht/Bowles all at the same time.
