Baker Mayfield “Is Pretty Sore” And Calijah Kancey Is Possible For Saturday

So how is Baker Mayfield feeling?
Joe suspects Mayfield’s feelings are hurt after he let the Bucs down in the fourth quarters of recent games.
Mayfield also was sacked three times yesterday against the Dolphins and he endured four quarterback hits. Speaking on SiriusXM NFL Radio today, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles acknowledged Mayfield was knocked around in Miami.
“He gives us everything he’s got. He’s pretty sore and I’m sure he’ll be ready for Sunday,” Bowles said.
Joe hopes Mayfield doesn’t have a fresh injury. He’s been completely off recent official injury reports but has battled knee, shoulder and oblique injuries this season.
On the upside, Bowles almost sounded hopeful defensive tackle Calijah Kancey could play Saturday afternoon. Bowles said a decision on Kancey (healing pectoral muscle) is likely a Friday or Saturday call. He was not upbeat about a return of edge rusher Anthony Nelson and said Tristan Wirfs could play if his toe heals enough.
Wirfs missed his fifth game of this season yesterday.

I just don’t understand how Baker is only hurt when he makes a bone headed play, and not when he takes off running and/or run defenders over. If Bowles goes Baker needs to go with him.

I told you, Baker has been hurt this entire time. But if he’s healthy, well, you watch out, he’s literally better than Brady, Montana and Marino – combined plus 10,000,000! But dang it, the injuries, it just never lets him shine. That and all the people around him plot to keep him down because they’re jealous of his greatness.

Baker threw for over 360 yards and 2 TDs last week and everyone is hating on him, he basically single handedly kept the Bucs in the game! He had everything under wraps and the victory sealed up, but Chewbacca was jealous of his greatness so he let the Dolphins player get through completely untouched to rob Baker of the greatness he’s due. If everyone would stop plotting against Baker, his true final form could then be achieved. The fact the cheap Glazers are only paying him $42M next year for what will be his first of many MVP seasons is insane, and Baker should tell the team he’ll never play here again and demand to go play somewhere, even Canada if he needs to in order to make the point that he’s the best!

I said during the Bucs-Rams game when the Bucs were getting destroyed that the Rams would go on to lose to Carolina… and then Carolina would lose to the Saints. It’s just the way things are.
If the Rams did lose to the Falcons tonight, which I don’t think will happen, the Falcons will follow up that victory by losing to the Saints. It’s just the way things are.

I bet if You went baker and told him that Bazelek, was getting the start this Saturday, he wouldnāt be sore or hurt anymore, baker is a waste, he begged the organization to get rid of Trask, so he wouldnāt have any competition, he is weak minded, and has all of you fooled, by making you think that he is just a tough guy,& then we go out and get a qb, that wears two gloves to be the backup Qb, and baker is so happy with, this signing, just because he knows there is no competition, to deal with! baker is a POSā¦ā¦oh Iām sorry, I forgot heās hurt!!! No reason to rush Kancey back. We can win this game if we play ball the way we did in the first six games. I just we’re just mentally defeated, though. If they’re tuning Bowles out, and they seem to be tuning Lavonte out, we’re cooked.
Only reason I want to win on Saturday is to keep the streak of division titles alive. If we did that, though, I’d be afraid they’d give Bowles another year. Not what’s best for the Bucs.

ONeilBucā¦ Baker has definitely sucked but we arenāt running him outta town. He has played good ball for this team in the last 2 years.
Stafford has 2 picks tonight. Darnold threw 2 picks in a game for the division and the Seahawks still won. Purdy threw a pick 6 to open the game last night and the 49ers won.
Turnovers are allowed if the team is aggressive and isnāt coached that turnovers automatically equal losses. Bowles coaches so scared and has such a bad D that a QBs turnovers are magnified. His coach tight games, run the ball, control clock game plans make turnovers tough to overcome. No urgency ever.
If the offense is supposed to carry the team, you donāt just let clock wind to end quarters or halvesā¦ you run as many plays as possible. This terrible staff hasnāt learned a thing!

Mayfield makes a lot of bad decisions on passes into double coverage. But the worst thing has been underthrowing open receivers behind all the DBs. And they have to stop or slow dramatically to try to wait for the ball. So many missed TDās by missing excellent routes with open receivers.

Oneil, Baker has sucked. No one should be making excuses for him. I will say this – under this Belowszo guy, Iām sure no one is playing to their potential . Baker will be a Buc next season, if Belowszo is still coiching he will suck even worse and probably the team gets blown up like in 2009. Need a real head coach and three full time coordinators.

Good guess they will be favored over the Saints so that should make Saturday’s game meaningless which is a good thing as Bowles and his crew crack under pressure. Winning a meaningless game is like racking up points in grabage time like Baker did when he connected for the TD with Godwin…….. Unfortunately, the W could give the Glazers a reasoin to save Bowles, I hope not…… He is responsible for the team falling off of the cliff. Other teams like the Niners had adversity and got through it, Bowles folded like a cheap tent….. Fire him!

Teams like the Falcons will beat a team like the Rams, then lose to the Saints, you can pretty much guarantee it. I know the majority of so-called Bucs fans in here want the team to lose and miss the playoffs, so they’re giddy about the Rams losing, but we saw this for many years with bad Bucs teams – they’d beat an 11-2 Buffalo team, then follow it up by losing to a 4-10 Bears team. It’s just the way it is when you’re a ‘youngry’ team.
