Happy 31st Birthday Haason Reddick

September 22nd, 2025

Haason Reddick (No. 5) and YaYa Diaby celebrate Diaby’s sack of Jets QB Tyrod Taylor yesterday.

Heralded newcomer Bucs edge rusher Haason Reddick has been eating a huge load of snaps and doing some good things.

Is he producing enough?

That’s unclear. Joe needs to see more.

Through three games, Reddick has 1 sack, 2 quarterback hits, 2 tackles for loss and 8 tackles overall.

Edge rushers Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, Leonard Floyd and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka were all free agents this year and Joe can’t say any of them have outplayed Reddick. And Reddick is in a new defense with Todd Bowles still learning how to use him best.

Joe wants to see more, but should that be expected? Reddick turned 31 today and has played 130-plus games of football. Gusy with that kind of mileage don’t often progress.

Reddick’s revenge game against the Jets yesterday didn’t materialize. For the Bucs to beat the Eagles on Sunday, Reddick’s revenge game against Philadelphia — he didn’t have a smooth exit after two Pro Bowl seasons there — might have to be a real thing.

    Happy B Day #5
Hoping for double digit sacks for your birthday and a nice payday here in Tampa.
Time for a big week against a backup tackle.

Every time I saw him, he was in coverage, granted I am not good at watching where all the players are on the field

    Has anyone seen Cade Otton?

Haason did well yesterday. Hope he is having a wonderful birthday.

  8. Aqualung Says:

He gets held almost every time, rarely is it called. He was instrumental in the 4th and short stuff. He’s a welcome addition for sure especially with Kancey out. Yaya is coming.

  9. GenocideD Says:

Happy Birthday, HR! So glad you joined the Bucs! We need you to cause a raucus this week!

  10. D-Rok Says:

I thought Reddick played with courage and fire yesterday. Saw him make several impact plays, mostly in run game. Way better than JTS, in my humble opinion.

In a few more weeks, one can envision Reddick settling into this team and the playbook and playing faster. The sacks will (might?) come, but he looked like a football player yesterday, just not a huge sack impact.

  11. BucYou Says:

Sacks will come. He’s in there on every play it seems.

  12. Cleanhouse Says:

    Cool, it’s my Bday too!

Still waiting to see the “shock” Jason said we would have from Braswell.

  14. Nano107 Says:

He had a big 4th down stop

  15. David Says:

He’s been pretty good, but if he wants a big contract after proving it for one year, he needs to start stepping it up

  16. Bantry Says:

    Happy Birthday, Mr. Reddick!!!!

Stats are meaningless, IMO. He has played consistent and has been a solid addition to the D-line.

He held up in 120+ heat! For an old dude I’m very impressed. No he’s not Micah Parsons but then we didn’t have to mortgage the franchise future to get him!!!

Speaking of Micah. WTF happened to the Pack yesterday. I was beginning to believe they were the class of the Conference. Lost to effing CLEVELAND!!!

And Philadelphia had a tough time but in fairness they were hosting the Rams another NFC power.

IF the Bucs ever get truly healthy I honestly believe the Bucs are one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the NFC.

The Bucs were hitting Taylor so many times in second and third quarters with blitzers arriving nearly a millisecond after release. He was clobbered a few times but kept his cool. Lavonte had his for a loss but he slid off of David’s attempt.

Hurts is a super strong man. His body is like a bruising RB and his weightlifting is the tops of any QB. Barkley is similar. The Bucs will need to contain those 2 studs from running away.

The DBs on this team are so much better than last year as Smith, Morrison and Parish are all solid players with a high ceiling and are solid tacklers. If Dennis wants to get paid like a starter he has to play like one.

The Bucs defense matches up very well with Philadelphia as long as they can stop the run and when Hurts is under pressure they need to cover tight end.

Offensively they have their work cut out, Philadelphia was a stout defensive line, probably the best in the NFL so the Bucs need to resort to a better offensive game plan than last 3 games. Running up the gut ain’t gonna work unless Philadelphia dline wears down in heat.

With 2 3-0 teams shouldn’t this be NFL Game of the week at 4:25PM. Can it be moved to later spot?

    ED

Agree for sure it’s the game of the week!!! Not sure whether the NFL can make a change during game week or not? Perhaps Joe or one of our astute posters can tell us.

  20. Pickgrin Says:

Yea – one of those TFLs was a big one…..

Reddick looks fine so far. He’ll likely end up with 8-10 sacks by seasons end -which is basically right in line with what he was paid this year…..

Sucks we lost Kancey for the year – but the Bucs still have a good bit of talent up front….

  21. Evan N Says:

He did a lot of great things yesterday. A lot of which you won’t see on the stat sheet. Hopefully he can get a sack or two this Sunday.

  22. orlbucfan Says:

No, they can not move the game into a prime time slot due to a bunch of agreements between the NFL and broadcasting entities. THANK F#####GOD cos it means this lowly fan can get it on Bucs Radio. 31 years old? He’s a baby, but happy barfday as we used to call them back in the Stone Age. 😂😂 I want to be able to listen to my guys in Bucs Radio. I’m already getting fired up. It’s only Monday over here in O-ville.
