Mike Evans: “We Got The Most Talent”

August 4th, 2025

Mike Evans put his foot down.

The greatest receiver in Buccaneers history likely would not have said this to media, but he had no problem serving it up to teammates recently.

“Hey, everybody around this motherfu**er is working hard,” Evans told players via official Buccaneers video. What are we going to do that’s different that separates us from the rest of the league? We got the most talent. What are we going to do? Let’s get it.”

Do the Bucs have “the most talent?” Evans really emphasized that in his speech. Maybe they do. And if Joe’s answer is “maybe,” then a quality winning season should be up next.

Obviously, the Bucs offense has a ridiculous amount of talent. Joe can’t put the defense in that elite category talent-wise, but it certainly has a list of impressive playmakers. And now they’ve got a quality punter and kicker Chase McLaughlin is a beast and possibly the most underrated kicker in the NFL.

Who is Joe to argue with Mike?

That’s crazy refreshing. I don’t ever remember this kind of talk coming from players like Evans. I think this is going to be an exciting season.

  3. WilieG Says:

The Bucs have a knack for doing weird things like losing a kajillion games to start their franchise, getting to the playoffs in 4 seasons and losing to a team that was held to 9 points, trading for a head coach then beating that coaches former team in the Super Bowl, signing the GOAT then winning a Super Bowl immediately, being the first team to host a Super Bowl, play in it, and win. So next up in Bucs weird history is undefeated up to AND including the Super Bowl.

    Love it WillieG!

Don’t just talk the talk, walk the walk
    .
Do it on the field, score more than 20 points
Against a piss poor Washington defense in a playoff game

In the end, the most talented team wins

  6. Rayjay1122 Says:

    He is not wrong.

  7. JimBobBuc Says:

If the Bucs can generate a really good pass rush from the front 4 (anybody, not just edges) then the backend will feast. If there’s not a sack on the play, I want the qb being knocked down consistently. More picks, strip sacks, and 3 and outs will follow giving the offense a short field.

  8. LakelandBuc Says:

“”*It’s the same piss poor Washington defense, that the Philadelphia Eagles dropped 55 points on in the same playoffs””

They averaged 38 PPG against Washington in 3 games last season

And we struggled to get 20 points at home against this crappy defense. “” Talent don’t equal Wins””

I’ve been saying it’s going to be a Special 50th Anniversary Season. 🍿

  10. Kidfloflo Says:

Joes: how do u feel about the Vegas under/over line on Bucs season total wins? They got it at 9.5…I personally am gonna pound the over!$ i dont.see how this team can’t go 10- 7, with no more key injuries. I feel like a 8 or 9 win season would be a huge letdown, and could even get Ole Todd fired! Who’s with me!?

  11. PSL Bob Says:

This morning to close out their SiriusXM show, Moving the Chains, the guys were mulling over the teams that might give the eagles a run for dominance in the NFC. Their choices were the Rams, Lions, Packers, and Commanders. Notice an obvious omission? Good! I like it that way.

    BEAT ATLANTA!!!

  12. Stpetematt Says:

Current betting odds say the Bucs are only +100 to win their division! That says a lot I’d say… odd that their Super Bowl odds are so low given that.

  13. buc4evr Says:

We do on offense, not even close on defense. We also have the most injuries or at least it always feels that way….

    Joe:
“And now they’ve got a quality punter”

    ^^^^^^

Underrated observation. When Camarda was crushing punts, the offense could manage the game and the defense thrived. The Bucs struggled last year because we couldn’t punt. Complimentary football is key to victory in Bowles’ system. Great FA pickup.

i hope their culture based organization doesnt allow a 4 game losing streak this year. sounds like there are some lazy bucs that mike isnt impressed with.

  16. Davyboy🏴‍☠️ Says:

Lakeland, if the talent can’t get on the field they can’t score. It’s really difficult to score when your talent spends half the game on the sidelines. Dan Quinn played a really good game of keep away.

  17. heyjude Says:

Heck Yeah! Love the video! Go Bucs!

  18. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“getting to the playoffs in 4 seasons and losing to a team that was held to 9 points”

We didn’t lose that game, it was stolen from us. We would’ve beaten the breaks off the Titans for our first SB too. Never forget.

  19. Patrick Says:

Just depends on staying healthy and how the new OC works out. Defense needs to take a couple steps forward this season.

  20. ballwasher61 Says:

They have a very young team rookies to 3-5 year guys, I’m sure Mike is reminding them that nothing is handed to them. He’s pumping them up saying that even with the talent are they going to commit? It could be easy for guys to get complacent but I think this is a bit of the Brady effect lingering, not that Mike needed Brady but the mind set that he brought to the entire team to be great and not take anything for granted but to MAKE IT for granted in your favor. I like it.

  21. Mike Johnson Says:

I’m all in with my Bucs and always have been, always will be. But 31 other teams are also saying they have the best talent. Everybody is 17-0 right now. We are not the only team that has improved in the league. Thats why I luv it so. Your record and your weekly play will say who you are.

  22. Bucks 'n' Bucs Says:

I can’t wait for this season to start. This will be epic!! Go Bucs!!!

  23. SenileSenior Says:

That’s why it is said, “That’s why they play the games!”. We have the talent and so do others, but not all others. Now do we have the heart and the will represented by the killer instinct?

    Go Bucs!!

  24. Davyboy🏴‍☠️ Says:

If that talent can stay healthy and cut the mistakes out of their game, we will go D E E P this year. Mike is right, but that talent has to play smart, mistake free footàball. Prediction: our new OC will be amazing, the offense will litterly hummmn under him. NO mercy this year!! 2025, LETS GET THIS TRAIN ROLLIN, 33 more days!!!

    Warren Brooks Lynch…

    Wrong NFC Championship game…
