“We Let Some Of The Penalties Go Both Ways”
July 31st, 2025Day 7 of training camp is in the books and looks can be deceiving.
Head coach Todd Bowles touched on that after practice when asked to assess whether the offense or the defense was the winner late in practice. It seems Bowles’ ruling was one focused on mess.
“We let some penalties go both ways, just so we can see them execute what we’re trying to execute,” Bowles said.
Multiple holding penalties on defense were noted, as well as sacks. “We’re just trying to get the situation in,” Bowles said.
That was a good slice of camp illusion right there. It’s often hard for anyone watching to tell who’s really winning without going to the film room for a detailed review.
No new injuries today, apparently, so that’s a “W” in Joe’s world.

No injuries is always a good TC practice in my books

I watched some other training camp reports yesterday and noticed refs working at a few practices. I went to one practice this year and didn’t see any refs.
The Glazers need to put up some money and get the refs there a lot.

Way to go Todd! Teach your players not to care if they commit a penalty or not!

Agreed Joe – no injuries is always a win. Especially as I believed you coined it, The AdventHamstring Center.
