Benjamin Morrison: Bucs Didn’t Show At My Private Workout
April 25th, 2025UPDATED: Classic! Bucs officials contradicted Morrison late tonight and said they did have a top evaluator at Morrison’s private workout.
The Bucs’ first- and second-round picks sort of have something in common.
For Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (Round 1) and Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison (Round 2), the Bucs had crazy firm convictions about their guys.
Egbuka wasn’t brought to Tampa for a Top-30 prospect visit because, per Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht, the team had nothing it wanted to ask him.
Moments ago, Morrison told Joe the Bucs were no-shows for his private workout less than a week ago. Morrison is recovering from major hip surgery.
Yeah, the Bucs got their man. He’s a cover corner, a ballhawk with a stunning six interceptions as a freshman, three as a sophomore and a season cut short last year by a recurring hip issue he believes is permanently corrected.

His father played with Bowles. They knew what they needed to know.

Huge Notre Dame fan, this guy is incredibly sticky and has a knack for the ball
Locked down every teams #1 as a true freshman
Best corner in draft if didn’t get hurt
I’m super stoked

Joe is disappointed because he would have picked six straight defensive ends.
Same Joe that coined Winston as America’s QB.
Consider the source.
False, false and false. –Joe

Rylie Mills in the 4th
I’d legit be stoked if we got Notre Dames defense

When the talent and character both match, you don’t need to have 20 conversations. You know in the 1st conversation with each of these guys.

Bowles.and front office are killing in the first two rounds. Keep this up and
will definity be a Super Bowl contender.
The zBucs are putting everyone’s on notice which will, of course be main stream media will ignore.

CB was the best move here.
We got a character guy with high upside.
Be happy “Joe”. ???Joe’s not unhappy. –Joe

Finally. Some comments that have sense. This is a great pick. If not for having an injury this year would been 1st round pick no doubt. Can’t wait to see 3rd round pick. Great draft so far. Just need defense rest of way. Go Bucs!!!!

I get why some are a little disappointed more in this pick than the 1st. He was injuries and with the often injured Dean fans have some ptsd. 1st rd makes total sense. Aging ME13 and CG14 has bin hurt quit a bit. Liking more and more what the Bucs are doing. Only time will tell if it pans out like everything else

If he can stay healthy. We just got a real ball player. Parrish is another good DB as well. Not mad at any of our picks honestly. Everyone knew defense was way deeper this draft. It makes sense to get a top offensive player in the first round.

There has been more negativity on these comments than usual regarding this draft. In years past Licht took chances on players that were high on athleticism but lacked in game intelligence and production. You can draft on talent but pedigree and leadership are uncoachable and rare. Both picks in round 1 and 2 are from top level schools OSU and ND. Both players have intelligence and have proven at the highest level of college ball that they made big time plays in big time moments under the brightest of lights.
The Bucs are now showing that building with team first players is the way to do it, much like Philadelphia did, their guys were out to win. Give the fans players that see their legacies and winning over getting big contracts from bad Orville the Jets and Browns. Drafting winners will pay off, you’ll see. Most importantly is that this year’s team stay healthier than in 2024.

The process is ongoing. Jason knows more than you do, imbecillin.

Is “imbecillin” in the penicillin family or are you just doctoring up insults?
