Jamel Dean Now On Deck

November 18th, 2024

Return imminent?

Prior to this morning, Bucs fans were staring at the very real possibility that their starting cornerbacks Sunday could be Josh Hayes and this rookie Tyrek Funderburk.

Welcome back, Tommy DeVito!

Well, it appears the cavalry is on the way.

With Zyon McCollum out who knows how long with a messed up hamstring (he couldn’t finish the San Francisco loss), the Bucs have started the clock on Jamel Dean.

The long-time Bucs starting corner left the slimy Saints game with a hamstring issue himself last month and was placed on injured reserve. Today, the Bucs have announced Dean has begun his 21-day window to return.

This means Dean will return to the field at some point in the next three weeks. Could be this coming Sunday in New Jersey, could be against the Raiders the day after Pearl Harbor Day.

So at least the threat is there that DeVito won’t be throwing against two fellow third-stringers.

You say “So” as if this guy doesn’t matter and isn’t not wasn’t ever any good, but we all know what he’s done and is still doing. He’s not better than Zyon at this point in time and is probably now no longer the #1CB , but for a while there he was after Carlton Davis was traded. He looks more exposed because we don’t have a better ILB next to LVD and same goes for everyone in that secondary.

We also don’t have the greatest pass rushers as we always had in the past so it does affect their ability to cover. Need the time and pressure to force mistakes.

Bowels here or not isn’t going to be a distraction imo , the way I see it we still are very easily now able to win the division and take the crown back with a much more favorable schedule and are healthy again. We lost a lot of games we should’ve won and we have to overcome the adversity along the way.

Thinking about doing a player prop bet on Devito. Thanksgiving turkey will be carved up early this year. Bucs defense is hot garbage.

    It’s a win-win scenario.

If the Giants win, Bowels gets the flush.

If the Bucs win, we can get right back in the race for the putrid NFC South crown.

Luckily we no longer playnthe Falcons this year.

This is great news! Evans back soon too. Now Dean, maybe Wirfs in the next couple of weeks too. It was the perfect time for the bye.

This sht is on Licht. How the hell do you let our bench talent get this God awful thing. LBs and DBs right now are playing with high school level talent. Excellent job, Jason

  11. Dave Pear Says:

Sorry, he has been coached down to scrub level. All he can do is stay 10 yards off the guy he’s covering and then slip and fall when the receiver catches the pass. Whatever skills and speed he had have been neutered, eviscerated by the Masturmind.

If Bucs can only get a wild card spot yea they would have to beat the falcons to get out of the division if they win the wildcard round

    For how long?

This season can’t end fast enough.
