Big Game For Cade Otton Coming Sunday?

November 30th, 2024

Good matchup for Bucs.

Since Mike Evans and Chris Godwin both got hurt in a terrible loss to Baltimore, one guy on the Bucs offense has really stepped up his game to become one of the better players at his position.

That would be Bucs tight end Cade Otton. Now last week in New Jersey, Otton didn’t go crazy. He had three catches for 30 yards, not a bad average for a tight end.

However, per the PFF tribe, Otton may just blow up Sunday in Charlotte. It seems the Stinking Panthers are one of the worst teams defending tight ends.

After last week’s games, Otton was eighth among in the NFL tight ends with 486 yards receiving. The Stinking Panthers? The PFF tribe claims they rank 31st in allowing yards from tight ends.

So yeah, Joe could see the Bucs and Baker Mayfield targeting Otton. But Joe thinks the Bucs will pound the ball on the ground. If that happens, Joe isn’t sure how many targets Otton will get.

Otton is the real thing. Hopefully the Bucs will target him Often.
Could be an impressive game for Evans too.

Shep, JMac, Rakim, Palmer. Someone has to step up. We are going on 2 months since Godwin went down and no one but Otton has emerged.

you just don’t know when they’re gonna throw to otton like crazy in a game…

    because mike is back…

    so that’s actually a really good thing…

like what if liam decides to quietly make otton the number one option on any given sunday – then all of a sudden otten is closing out the game with 8 receptions for 102 yards and a td…

it can happen moving forward on any given sunday

Baby Gronk takes care of his business
    Go Bucs!

  9. JimBobBuc Says:

The Bucs have been running more 12 personnel lately so the TE’s could eat today. I want to see if Otton can right the ship after two drops last week. If Dev Culp is active, I’d like to see what he can do…

  10. OrlandoBucFan Says:

Otton is definitely underutilized in this offense, which is a shame. The tight end position is such an impactful position.
