Tampa Bay Greatness On Display

January 16th, 2024

It felt like a slap across Joe’s face, a glorious wake-up call.

Look at the ESPN TV graphic above. Only one NFL team has won more playoff games than the Bucs over the past four postseasons. The Bucs have been the playoff badasses of the NFC.

For the record, that’s four wins in the 2020 postseason, one in 2021, and one last night against the Eagles, Todd Bowles’ first as a head coach.

That means young stud Bucs like Antoine Winfield Jr. and Tristan Wirfs have six postseason wins in eight games since they entered the league. Man, those guys have eight games of postseason experience!

Staring at that graphic makes Joe feel like The Lost Decade of Bucs football is ancient history, even though it’s only been five years.

What a feat it would be if the Bucs could up that number to seven on Sunday in Detroit.

Most of those games were won by the GOAT. NFL will not have so much confidence in Bucs HC/QB now.

  2. David Says:

    No more cupcake games.

  3. Steven007 Says:

David, everyone knows you’re a troll, and not a very good one. Perhaps take a page out of Captain Munch’s posting book and at least acknowledge the obvious. No quarterback since Brady was here has even had a chance to win a playoff game until this year. And year one, here we have one. It’s not hard to acknowledge. It takes very little effort. What it does take is a smidge of humility. And trust me, I’m not a Baker boy. But he’s my quarterback and I want him to succeed. You will on the other hand, want him to fail so badly that you trip over yourself trying to communicate that. It’s just silly and cowardly. If you’re a fan of the team, you should be a fan of the quarterback, particularly if we make it to the playoffs. And oh look, actually when that game. Weirdo.

  4. Trask Cult Leader Says:

Imagine what we could do w Trask at QB?

  5. Dave Pear Says:

Davud- it’s obvious you don’t care how ignorant, silly, foolish, hateful and downright inbred such a written statement (permanent in the lore) looks now.

The Cowboys, Browns, Rams and Steelers are all wishing they were where the Bucs are now.

Results matter, little girl. Bowles deserved all the criticism he got for handcuffing the offense and playing zone bust coverage defense.

Mayfield should have thrown for over 400 yards were it not for 6 or more drops. He was clearly on his game.

If you believe the twaddle you spray you’re an idjut with a capital idj

Bowles has changed, which is what a good coach does. He’s no Shanahan, but right now it’s better to keep the band together and see what continuity can do with another draft and a few FA dollars to spend.

Like, when you see yourself in a mirror, does the reflection look like a 4 foot tall hunchback with a wart on his forehead the size of a grapefruit?

That’s the image most have for you.

  6. Steven007 Says:

    * win that game

  7. SlyPirate Says:

Give Licht a round of applause. The guys has a plan.

Y’all see Kancey tonight. Disruptive. The man set up camp in the backfield.

  8. BucsBeast Says:

That @Joe working Drunk tonight! Zero proof reads before post.
    Lmfao!
I would be too. Traffic has to be insane tonight.

  9. Trask Cult Leader Says:

I compared YaYa to a young JPP recently.
He looks like JPP. He plays like JPP, and he can’t be kept out of the game like JPP. He even raised #9’s level of play.

This Bucs team looks tough as nails at times. I hope it continues.

However: Trask was robbed again. He should have played the last series, or even the last two. Brady had no problem w Gabbert salting-away games but this team has a conspiracy

  10. Tbbucs3 Says:

The Bucs entered a new era of greatness as soon as we ditched the alarm clock uniforms

  11. Buccos Says:

That is exactly what I was telling my friend on the way out of the stadium. I said this is Tampa. We don’t lose playoff games

  12. Buccos Says:

That defense is just as good, if not better than the Super Bowl defense was

  13. Proudbucsfan Says:

Tbbucs3 those actual uniforms were nice, it was the alarm clock numbers that ruined the whole uniform.

  14. Harlow Says:

Couldn’t have asked for a better first round opponent, given injuries and other drama with Philly. However the boys came out hot and left no doubt. Pretty amazing performance. Canales already watching tape on Anzalone

  15. Todd Rolls Says:

    Big win happy times

  16. BucU Says:

I’ve had my share of Buc/Bowles bashing but that David is a world class dirt bag.
Hey Joe, How about getting an ignore feature on this site?

  17. Jeremy Goins Says:

Go BUCS!!!! Let’s shut down Detroit

  18. BucU Says:

    “”Big win happy times””

Hell yeah!!! Unbelievable performance by the Bucs!

  19. Fansince76 Says:

Yeeeah! how about a Bucs vs Ravens super bowl would be great!

  20. Brandon Says:

You’re a cupcake, David. The GOAT was awful last year and the 2022 version of him would have struggled to win one game with us in 2023. Mayfield just won a postseason game, something the GOAT couldn’t do last year.

  21. Pewter power Says:

Damn that’s nonsense and over the top stat manipulation but shows what Brady did for this franchise. That’s nonsense because before 2020 and BA we were recovering from lovie and dirk

  22. Buckeyebuckchuck Says:

Lions CB’s are.,…not good. Alim McNeil is a beast though, the IOL will have their hands full. Got to get pressure in Goff, he tends to do stupid things and has about zero escapability. Bucs have a puncher’s chance in this one

  23. Scoobe Says:

Well if the Lions secondary is trash, and Green Bay happens to beat the 49rs and their secondary is trash (as per TB vs GB this year) then fast track to the SB it is.
