What was supposed to be a hat and t-shirt game for the NFC South title turned into something that looked more like a U-Haul and Linkedin-update game for Buccaneers’ players and coaches.
Huge home game for the Bucs against their arch rival and they didn’t show up from the opening whistle?
Joe blames everyone. No excuse to come out flat in such a big game.
Interceptions, fumbles, out of sync on routes, commitment to a bad running game trailing by three scores — the Bucs offense was a train wreck.
Joe heard a longtime Saints beat writer last week say “the Saints don’t to anything well.” Umm, today they did everything well.
Saddest of all for Joe is the Bucs don’t look like anything close to a playoff team, which is what they will be if they beat the miserable Panthers in Charlotte next Sunday. The Panthers were shut out 26-0 by the Jaguars today — the team the Bucs crushed last weekend.
Joe can’t blame the defense today, but it sure was a downer to see Antoine Winfield Jr. have a rough day and Devin White disappear after a strong game last week.
For the Bucs (8-8) to have just one sack — Derek Carr running out of bounds needlessly — was a bad look, and a bad sign for the playoffs. The slimy Saints (8-8) were down to their third string right tackle!
Joe cannot explain the Bucs refusing to open up their offense until it was too late. How could that lesson not be learned in Week 17?
The Todd Bowles for “Coach of the Year” chatter officially is dead.

Still running up the middle down 20 in the 3rd. Using thompkins n Moore late in the game instead of Godwin Evans and white screen game. I was giving bowels his flowers last few weeks team was awful unprepared in such a big home game. He’s got to go. Amazing what happens when you’re not playing the two worst passing defenses in the NFL two weeks in a row.
Baker getting some garbage time stats doesn’t erase the fact he had the team down by 20 points, and had like 60 yards passing and two INTs when it actually mattered the most.
We’ll see what he does next week – but Carolina has one of the better pass defenses in the NFL.

They went back to the crappy play calling that put them in that losing streak. Absolutely atrocious. Too many passes to everyone not named Mike and Chris. Commitment to the crap non existent running game. Zone on defense and just overall no effort.
My goodness, I feel stupid. Just last night I was so excited, coming to terms with the fact, hey looks like Bowles and Baker may be it, maybe Bowles finally learned his lesson. The game plan was pathetic. I’m stunned to see Baker ended up completing 66% of his passes for over 300 yards. It sure didn’t feel that way. Bad effort all around by everyone. This game shouldn’t be a referendum on Baker but it could be on the coaching staff.

Last week we were cheering on a .500 team as if they were going to win the SUPER BOWL. Todd Bowls was the “Coach of the Year” and Baker Mayfield (who I supported) made Tom Brady (according to Joe) look like a washup QB whose impact on the Bucs meant nothing. We may still win the Super Bowl and Bowles still may be Coach of the Year, but not today. Keeping it real in Ireland.

Nothing surprising here same “play to not lose” crap we saw all last year. No one can convince me that Todd does not dictate the offensive calls until the game starts getting out of hand. How many frigging run up the middle to no where do we have to run? Literally until the score was 20-0 we would burn two plays a series to a run up the middle for nothing. When are teams going to stop hiring/ retaining defensive coaches that “play to not lose”. We have way to many offensive weapons for this piss poor showing and after two offensive coordinators with identical starts to games (though Canales has done much better when he is giving control a.k.a. we go into catch up mode, which is why I’m convinced Todd dictates offense early) Todd is not going to get us there, he’s going to be just good enough to screw us on draft positron.

Look what happened when we started trying to push the ball downfield instead of wasting every offensive snap on runs to nowhere. Down 20 points in the 4th and they were STILL calling runs up the gut to nowhere.

This was a complete TEAM loss. DC stuck with the run way too long. TB played way too soft D early. The D couldn’t get off the field on 3rd dolwns and couldn’t control the run early. Then there’s the turnovers killing drives. Early BM6 held onto the ball way too long. The punts and kickoffs were bad too. Complete TEAM LOSS!!!!

I don’t care if the Bucs make the playoffs or not. If there was a team in this division that was actually good we wouldn’t be discussing playoffs. Todd Bowles has reduced this team to being mediocre at best since the day he took over. He hit his ceiling as a DC and is no Bruce Arians. The Glazers need to make a change come the offseason.

Anyone who was stupid enough to ever put any faith in Baker and Bowles because they beat some trash teams deserves all the disappointment they get. It’s a joke. We have a huge career sample size of these clowns and the results are nothing short of laughable.

Scoring zero points in 45 minutes of football in home stadium in a game your team should have been sky high to win is 100% on the horrific non-attacking offensive first 3 quarters.
50 yards of offense with Mike Evans and Godwin Healy and playing at home?
The seam throws that they used vs Packers and Jags disappeared and were replaced with pathetic and completely ineffective runs up the middle. As much as White has improved its an overall playmaker he still cannot take a handoff and explode. The hesitation instead of getting into the hole was very bad and Canales is faulty for giving him too many carries.
Defensive front was horrible, coverages were horrible and Carr was playing catch throwing the ball as if he knew exactly where it needed to go with no fear. Just a weak effort by the Bucs.
Mayfield was horrendous for 3 quarters when he needed to carry his offense.
Fans who paid to attend the game deserve a refund. Bowles looks really bad calling out the crowd to make more noise this week. All I heard for 3 quarters was the noise of booing this lousy game.

We need to fire the coaching staff. It was clear today that the game plan was garbage. If the game plan was to push the ball down the field we would have won the game regardless of the fumbles or interceptions.

Yea simple. 1. Futile commitment to the run. 2. Way too late on the no huddle offense. Start when two scores down regardless of the Quarter. 3. One interception was an under throw. The other a tip. Both fumblez were bad. Still if you had started the no huddle after going down by 14 you might have won. Baker operates best at pace. I would do two random no huddles every half regardless of the score.
