  1. Marine Buc Says:

If Doug Williams and Jimmie Giles are in the Ring of Honor then Gerald McCoy probably belongs in the ROH.

  2. Craig Says:

Agree with Marine, and save a place for Brady too.

I hope the Bowles cleaner makes the right guesses on defense this season. A good one will go a long way on making the offense look good.

  3. SB~LV Says:

He was a very good player despite all the hate… but a big fat NO
    Simply no RoH career
    Say!!!
    Why is
    JAMES WILDER not up there??????

  4. Iamabuc Says:

The ROH should not be for everybody, only the superachievers. So there’s that.

  5. Iamabuc Says:

The ROH should not be for everybody, only the super achievers. So there’s that.

  6. Dooley Says:

Eventually for sure, but not immediately. First two seasons were rough for GMC, but to goto 6 pro bowls from 2012 to 2017 on those Bucs rosters with HCs Schiano, Smith, & Koetter is deserved of ROH consideration at the very least. Can admit I was critical of GMC at times like any other objective fan, but thinking back to how bad some of those teams were and who he had around him makes some of his accomplishments a little more impressive in retrospect. Wish him well, hope a finds success in whatever he does next.

  7. DoosLaRue Big Brother Says:

People that say know probably washes paper plates and writes with their fist

  8. Mike C Says:

What Honor did he bring to Tampa Bay??? The lost decade? Yeah great smdh

  9. Mike C Says:

People that say know instead of no are……….

  10. Marine Buc Says:

    “only the superachievers.”

Jimmy Giles and Doug Williams were “super achievers”?

If so then Gerald McCoy should also be considered a “super achiever” as well.

  11. JTB Says:

Agree with SB..If Wilder is not in neither should McCoy

  12. KC Buc Says:

I won’t forgive him for dancing on the sidelines while losing. The leadership contrast between him and JPP was stark. That being said, his individual production, public support for the team & community were great. I think he should make it in the ring after some time for fans to acknowledge that one DT is not responsible for the lost decade. But let’s get Wilder in first please.

  13. Jeff Says:

Never was my favorite player but the dude is a class act, one of the better Bucs defenders in history, and to this day still loves the Bucs. Loyalty should count for something.

  14. BucFanForever Says:

Since they only add one person a year hopefully not. New players going forward will hopefully keep him out. I view him as a third tier for the RoH.

Tier 1 (automatic): Lynch, Brooks, Selmon, Barber, Lavonte David
Tier 2 (important to franchise): Wilder, Simeon Rice,
Tier 3 (had a good run): Gerald McCoy,

Tier 3 can be considered after all tier 1s & 2s are in.

  15. QBKilla Says:

McCoy was very good but he wasn’t great.

  16. JN Says:

Heck no. Not a hater. Solid player. But not in that class

  17. Lokog Says:

    No. go home to carolina

  18. Buc1987 Says:

    No…over-rated.

  19. Tbbucs3 Says:

It depends….has he ever sent some slightly offensive e-mails??

  20. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Okay, so I was a big McCoy fan…loved him.

    That said?

He should NOT be in the RoH.

  21. robert Says:

over rated. good player….could have been great if not for being injury prone, soft and not a closer.

  22. Oxycondoms Says:

Joe should be in the ring of honor before mccoy

  23. YucsBall Says:

    easy NO

  24. LOL Says:

Why would he ever even be considered for the ROH? So confused. He was a very good player for a few years.

Is it a charity/off field thing?

If Gmac is being considered for the ROH then Devin White should be too. LOL

  25. Rod Munch Says:

GRRRRR!!!! I CAN’T BELIEVE ANYONE VOTED YES – I VOTED NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! GRRRRR!!!! HE LIKES COMIC BOOKS AND THAT MAKES ME ANGRY!!!! GRRRRRR!!!! HE’S NOT HARD LIKE MA, HE’S SOFT LIKE ICE CREAM!!! GRRRRRRR!!!!!!

  26. Mike C Says:

10 years as a buc without a snap in the playoffs….. nothing to do with GRRRRR!!!!! Just how it is Rod, no need to scream.

  27. uhmmm Says:

If McCoy is considered, Donavan Smith should be too. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  28. Miller5252 Says:

Wow! That’s a surprise in the voting. Most comments are usually about how bad he is. Looking at the names up in the ring already, is there anyone up there you would swap out for McCoy???? That’s how I decided on my vote…. And it made it really easy that way.

  29. David Says:

I like McCoy ALOT more than many here. He was a pro bowler, an excellent player who never had any help around him and played on bad teams, but… Not ring of honor material.

  30. Jeff’s grandpa Says:

    Career loser no thxs

  31. Bucsfanman Says:

OBVIOUSLY there are players who deserve to be in there ahead of GMC. He was a good player during a bad tenure (notice I said “good”!).
    I think he deserves it.

  32. Voice of Truth Says:

    Brooks, Lynch, McCoy?

    A definite no

And to those crowing about Doug and Jimmy, either you weren’t around or you are just dumb –

What Culverhouse did to Williams was unspeakable – all he did is go to another league then come back and win a Super Bowl with a class organization at the time

Giles was simply uncoverable and nearly impossible to tackle

  33. FortMyersDave Says:

James Wilder TB12, Bruce Arians and Simeon Rice all should get in before GM93.

  34. ChiBuc Says:

^^Rice n Wilder for sure. BA has imposed some negative legacy mojo (see BL and Todd) and he rode some serious FA talent

  35. Rand Says:

I don’t know, does 9.5 sacks in one season out of 11 warrant R.O.H.?

  36. Jon Grudin Says:

it’s only one person per year, first add Wilder, Alstott, Simeon, Brady, Lavonte, Evans…. then McCoy

  37. Rod Munch Says:

Dummies, putting someones name up, doesn’t mean you pull down someone elses name.

Also, dummies, a DT tackle doesn’t determine if the team makes the playoffs or not.

Damn, you people are stupid. I mean that literally.

    6-time Pro Bowler
    3x ALL PRO

Yes, that gets in the ring.

  38. Miller5252 Says:

@Rod Munch My point wasn’t taking someone out of the ring. What I was getting at was a way to measure if he should really go in. So…. Is there anyone already in the ROH that you would replace to get him in. If you say no, then he doesn’t belong. If you say yes, then he should go in. I didn’t say someone has to be removed for him to go in. Good grief man

  39. Just Saying Says:

His important stat is 6 pro bowls. A popularity contest, not a quality of play or impact stat. Is L. David unworthy since he’s been snubbed from the probowl even though he’s put up game stats that are HOF worthy. MCCoy wasn’t great on the field, ROH should be reserved for greatness.

  40. Mike C Says:

Yeah Rod , you are the genius trying to give the underachieving loser more undeserving accolades 👏 congratulations, you are the smartest guy in the room.

  41. Hunter's Crack Pipe Says:

    Not a generational talent.

Do-si-do with Kwon while losing. “Having fun” is more important than winning.

Refusing to play anything other than 3-technique when Mike Smith wanted to show different fronts. Not a team player.

My vote is “HE LIKES COMIC BOOKS AND THAT MAKES ME ANGRY!!!! GRRRRRR!!!! HE’S SOFT LIKE ICE CREAM!!! GRRRRRRR!!!!!!”

  42. Hunter's Crack Pipe Says:

If Joe ran this poll and changed the name to David, I bet it would be over a 95% consensus YES. If you changed the name to Gene Deckerhoff it would be over 50% yes. Think about that! The owners shouldn’t even consider anyone who can’t get half the fans supporting the move.

I would vote JPP in just for calling out GMC and doing what GMC refused to do. Changing the culture. That’s what team leaders do.

Speaking of culture change… Why isn’t Hardy Nickerson ever mentioned for the ROH?

  43. Mike C Says:

Wahhhhh waahhhhhh people don’t like the player I like Wahhhhhhh! See, I can do that to Rod, not very constructive.

  44. Shakeandbaker Says:

Tbbucs3 if any of those said emails have him calling the owners c$#@$suckers he won’t be in the ROH honor either.

  45. RustyRhinos Says:

No, I do not want him on our house wall. Go back to ” Carolina where you finally feel at home” I bet they will add you to their ROH. McCoy was a good player, just never a great one. Wish we had drafted Suh. I also can not forgive the dancing and chucking it up as our team and his Defense had once again not done their jobs, and we are getting our arsess handed to us yet again… “Let’s just go have some fun”
NO NO NO!! To McCoy on the ROH, maybe in 15 years, maybe.
