New Falcons running back Bijan Robinson.
A lot of Bucs fans were yearning for Tampa Bay to draft beastly University of Texas running back Bijan Robinson tonight,
Instead, he went to the Falcons.
Joe sees this is a great thing for now. Why? Because this means the Falcons will be rolling with Desmond Ridder at quarterback. He’s a second-year project and isn’t dropping with talent.
But Joe sees the hated Dixie Chicks working. They kept it very simple. Head coach playcaller Arthur Smith loves to run the ball, and so they drafted the best damn running back on the board — the best in a long time.
Todd Bowles always says his defense only works effectively if the Bucs stop the run. That’s the priority. The Bucs were historically good doing just that in 2019 and 2020, and went downhill from there.
Now they’re probably going to have to be damn good against the run again if they want to beat Atlanta twice. Tyler Allgeier was their rookie sensation last season with 1,000-plus yards and averaging 4.9 yards per carry.

Falcons have so many holes that drafting Bijan just gives them 2 stud RBs. Detroit sure reached for the Bama RB.

Trent Richardson was a can’t miss RB, the best prospect in years.
