  1. Go Bucs Says:

Let’s goooo! Can’t wait for this draft and Season

  2. KC Buc Says:

Live in KC at the draft if only we could get some Big Storm out here!

    In Licht We Trust

  3. cmurda Says:

Let’s go Licht! Make it rain

  4. Marine Buc Says:

    Pick #19 – OT – D. Wright or A. Harrison
    Pick #50 – Edge – BJ Oljulari or F. Anudike-Uzomah

  5. Tim Says:

    OL, DL, EDGE or Bijan

  6. Da Bucs Guy Says:

Enjoy tonight. Because Jason Licht weak roster will be exposed when the regular season comes.

  7. Caleb lee Says:

I’ve been on the fence but I’ve come to decide that I want Robinson.
If it is a down year then at least we can watch some entertaining football with or newfound run game.

I trust in Licht either way.

  8. SOEbuc Says:

Die hard longhorn fan taking Bijan or OT from Oklahoma if on board.

  9. gbobucsfan Says:

    Lamar back with the Ravens

  10. Ghost of Tom Brady Says:

Unless one of the top tackles falls to us at 19, I’d move back, maybe more than once, grab some extra picks in the mid-rounds and start the rebuild (er, reload) with youngsters. Or we could just draft Bijan and ride him to the Super Bowl.

  11. Red Skeleton Says:

Lets Trade Up and get a KICKER at 3

  12. Trask To The Future Says:

Bucs need to trade up. They’re in no man’s land at #19 and all the top OL will be gone and Bijan will be gone too.

  13. SB~LV Says:

Prediction… the pick will be announced at 10:35

  14. Goatfarmer Says:

Leave it to the fanboi with his nighttime fantasy in his screen name to advocate trading up.

Ignoring that, have copious Big Storms and drink them empty! Then taxi or Uber home.

  15. Cobraboy Says:

Big & Ugly, early and often.

Except if that Texas RB drops to 19.

  16. Buc4evr Says:

    Broderick Jones – pick #19.

  17. Bama2k23 Says:

OT unless Hendon Hooker QB or Bijan Robinson RB are still there.. Then it gets interesting imo.

  18. William Walls Says:

It’s gonna be a wild ride!

  19. HC Grover Says:

    Well Alright!!!

  20. mg Says:

    OT

  21. GP Says:

If Bijan is available at 19, I can see that, otherwise, big uglies please.

  22. D-Rok Says:

I love Will Andersen from Bama, EDGE. Kid got a love for football.

    But first, an OT.

  23. Bama2k23 Says:

D-Rok- Will could be picked as high as #2. I doubt he drops out of the top 5.

  24. D-Rok Says:

I know, Bama, but a feller can dream, right?

  25. Bama2k23 Says:

D-Rok – absolutely. I’d love that pick. but it’s truly a dream. Maybe Bryce Young will fall to us as well 🙂

  26. HC Grover Says:

    How many picks 2nite?

  27. D-Rok Says:

Only 1 pick tonite, at number 19, Grover.

  28. HC Grover Says:

    TX hoping for Beef

  29. Statguy Says:

Glad to see the Bijan love here

  30. Dan Says:

who cares about this draft go lighnting

  31. robert Says:

I SWEAR TO YO BABY MAMA THAT IF THEY DO NOT DRAFT A REPLACEMENT FOR BOWELS TONIGHT I’MA LOSE MY $HIT.

    KEEP IT ONE HUNNID!

  32. Dewey Selmon Says:

I’m all for OL but our CB are looking slim. Davis/Dean, no nickleback, Zyon and a couple of JAGs. Brian Branch is a perfect fit is there is a run on OL.

  33. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Do the math…..there are 22 starting positions and we are picking 19th….assuming every pick is a different position then we will have at least 4 of the best players at their position…….since there will be multiple picks at QB, Edge, OT, CB, WR…..then we may have as many as 10 top players at their position….

So…TRADE DOWN a few slots and still get a great player.

    I’m thinking TE, S, RB

Thank God we don’t need a punter!!!

  34. Pewter Power Says:

Let’s get it Licht this is where you earn your money. Restocking a roster is how you keep talent and your job.

  35. Rusty Shackleford Says:

The Bucs should have Booker Reese announce the Bucs first round pick from his jail cell. Just for the lulz.

  36. Fansince76 Says:

    FOSKEY, FOSKEY, FOSKEY….

  37. Dom N. Nick Says:

I don’t want to ruin the draft party or Joe’s columns, but I hope that there is NOTHING to celebrate, no prize awarded by Florida’s Elite Restoration in the Pick the pick contest and absolutely zero for the Joe’s and Ira to comment about tonight.

    *****BECAUSE*****

That would mean Jason Light has traded out of the first round, picked up additional draft picks and/or players and the party at Big Storm Brewery goes on for another day.

    Party On Garth!

  38. Alstott up the gut Says:

Happy Kyle Brady over Warren Sapp Day, Jets fans!! Appreciate ya!!

  39. PewterStiffArm Says:

Let’s all have a safe and fantastic night and special thanks to JoeBucsFan for another wonderful year, God Bless.

  40. Dooley Says:

I’m looking forward to watching how the 18 picks ahead of us go and how big an impact that has on what the Bucs draft team does with our pick at 19th tonight. I’ve got my favorite prospects, but my mind will remain open to whomever we pick or whatever we do should a deal be made cause they’re going to be Bucs. Really excited for the process to come and go, so we can get a better picture on how & where the rest of our roster will be fleshed out.

  41. HC Grover Says:

    ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER

  42. Rusty Shackleford Says:

If the Bucs are going to trade down and move out of the first round, then Hendon Hooker will probably still be there tomorrow night.

  43. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    @HC Grover

    Too much confusion….BSG style.

  44. Goatfarmer Says:

robert – You made me spray beverage all over the TV room. ROTFLMAO

  45. Goatfarmer Says:

I am so hoping that both Carolina and Houston get super cute and hump the horse (no offense, Diva) thus throwing the draft into chaos!

  46. BUCOHOLIC Says:

I’n not a fan of trading back just to trade back. I would be ok with 1, 2 or 3 of these guys if at all possible between tonight and tomorrow.

    OT Darnell Wright, Anton Harrison
    RB Bijan Robinson
    QB Hendon Hooker
    LB Trenton Simpson, Jack Campbell
    TE Michael Mayer, Darnell Washington
    CB Emmanuel Forbes, Julius Brents

These are in not particular order but would be happy with any of them between 2 days.

  47. Goatfarmer Says:

Don’t forget Devon Achane in round 3.

  48. Bucs Guy Says:

Players I don’t want the Bucs to draft
    QB in round 1
    AR-15 QB
    Ringo CB
    Campbell ILB
    Van Ness Edge
    LaPorta TE
    Skoronski T

  49. NateDawg Says:

LFG!!!! OL all the way baby!!!! Build through the trenches, give the offense a chance to redeem itself this year.

  50. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Florida QB’s never do well in the pros.

  51. Bucs Guy Says:

My #1 wish for the draft: Trade Devin White to Texas for a 2nd and 3rd round draft pick.

  52. Jeff’s grandpa Says:

    Bijans not getting past atl

  53. Jp_09 Says:

    Trade down and take Gibbs!!

  54. firethecannons Says:

trade devin white cause he is going to be trouble all year he is speaking out now and after this it is going to get worse trade his ass

  55. Scott Says:

Harrison round 1, slot cb, DE or Charbonet round 2

  56. GenocideD Says:

Excited for whomever we pick. Just not wr. Go bucs!

  57. Bojim Says:

    I’m sure we’ll be surprised.

  58. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

What time tonight do we expect the Bucs will turn in their card?

  59. Redeemer Says:

Trade out for goodness sake. Unless of course someone falls. This night will be as useless as boobies on a male pig. Hopefully someone gets stupid.

  60. Admiral Redbeard Says:

Seattle, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Green Bay all have multiple 2nd rounders I would trade D. White for. Pick up either Sanders, Simpson, or Campbell with one of those extra picks, and I’d be good with that trade off.

  61. Irishmist Says:

Now that Bradys gone, I’m giving 5 to 1 that they go to commercial during our pick.

  62. BucsFan81 Says:

Hope we go with Oline or Dline for the first pick. I hope we see D. White get traded also. No one is paying him 100 million. Going to have to go between this and the lighting game tonight.

  63. Dooley Says:

How would you guys feel about totally trading out of the 1st round? Or trading with Philly or KC to the bottom of the first? Not saying it’s going to happen or I personally want it to happen, but what kind of comp would you take from either team if they wanted 19? And which team would you entertain over which?

    Just a thought

  64. PaulWartenberg Says:

Okay Bucs fans, here’s hoping a good OT slides to 19th tonight! We need a starter to play opposite Wirfs!!!

I am currently at the north Lakeland Hooters, watching the draft in memory of a friend from South Florida who would join with me at the Hooters off University Ave to watch the first round between 1998 to 2000. Eric passed away on Draft Day 2001, so I’m pouring one out in his honor! GO BUCS.

  65. PaulWartenberg Says:

If the Bucs trade up, I dread it will cost too much in future picks to be sensible. I’d rather sit at 19 and take best player at OT, OLB/Edge, CB, or TE (Safety can wait until later), or then trade down for a good value pick at a need and extra future picks

  66. Drunkinybor Says:

Breaking news!.My sources say it will be Luke Van Ess. My source is a 7 year old who likes his name and told me if he’s their he’s a buccaneer! 😆

  67. Goatfarmer Says:

Diva White – maybe you’ve played your last football game. Who wants someone who is a “me and my money and my horses and what I want to do” person?

    Adios, MF.

  68. Goatfarmer Says:

  69. Mcruzer Says:

Watch New England’s pick #14, Licht worked in NE and we have reached out for players and also found a draft day partner with them a few times. If a player he wants is there, Jason has been known to jump a few spots in the 1st round.

  70. Rod Munch Says:

Oh God, I just remembered how bad ESPN draft coverage is.

What’s the over/under on the number of dead parent/grand parents stories in the 1st round? I’ll put it at 12.

  71. Davenport Says:

Like many, i have been a Bucs fan going on 50 years … the longest relationship of my life. That said, i absolutely hate the pandering machine that the NFL has become. The Bud Light banners front & center on the stage is just too damn much.

  72. Mcruzer Says:

Man, people need to treat this message board like a bar, no politics.

  73. Gofortheface Says:

Look at all those super obese losers just wanting to stand there for hours. For what. For an over drammatic corny production, they’re to worship pudding head kids that dress like reeeeeeetahhhhhrrrrds. Once I hit my 40s I’ve come to realize just how stupid this is. Even harder to find these players likeable when I can’t stand the culture they want to portray. Now Bryce Young, that is a good kid. He dresses and acts like an actual adult

  74. Rod Munch Says:

Oh man, I like how friendly and nice this preshow is, and how everyone is smiling and how you get to see people’s families. That’s much better than showing highlights of players and talking about their physical skills and making comparisons to past NFL drafts. Who needs that garbage when you can have a bunch of mindless vapid idiocy that women eat up.

  75. Goatfarmer Says:

Someone needs to do something politically incorrect ASAP.

  76. BucFanForever Says:

Who’s the top rated place kicker?

  77. Rod Munch Says:

Where’s the best place to watch for actual coverage of the players being drafted where they talk football? Anyone have like a name of a YouTube channel or something that’s worth checking out?

  78. Gofortheface Says:

Rod, it didn’t used to be this bad. I miss when it was simply about business. Now it’s over produced, corny, and same old eye roll inducing stories about someone growing up poor and their dad wasn’t around, and “no one believed in me” or something blah blah. Whatever. Major pandering going on too.

  79. Rod Munch Says:

    BucFanForever Says:
Who’s the top rated place kicker?

    ————

The same guy it’s always been…

    The Nigerian Nightmare Donald Igwebuike.

  80. BUCman Says:

Trade Diva White to Texans and move up to 12. Take Bijan or top available OT

  81. Goatfarmer Says:

    Zzzzzzzzzz…….

What a letdown. I think I’ll consume sleep aids.

I though this Shiite Show would be an hour in by now. Zzzzzzz….

  82. Rod Munch Says:

Gofortheface – It’s really really bad now, I just watched like 15 mins of a preshow and not highlight or talk about trades or anything, just vapid garbage. I just muted it.

But yeah, back in the early 90s I loved watching the draft on ESPN, when it just went on forever, and you’d have Kiper talking about who’s the best guy to take when they’re in the 11th round. Like or hate Kiper, he used to serve a roll and at least make you familiar with guys. Now it’s just terrible. I forgot how bad the coverage was until I turned it on, then it swept over me, all the repressed memories from the last few drafts and how much I hated the coverage.

  83. calbucsfan Says:

How about a trade for the #2 pick with Houston? Houston gets #19, ME & DW. Evans is one of my favorites so it’s not easy to suggest this, but he is getting up there in age. Since he’s from Texas, maybe he would be ok with that and DeWhite gets what he wants-out of TB.

Too much to give up? Ok, then how about a trade up to #10 with Philly to get one of those top QBs? Swap #19 and throw DeW and a 3rd in the mix.

Really don’t want to see either player go, but Bucs should be in rebuild mode and not plugging holes or else another decade of losing is on the horizon and hell, I’m 70 years old now and I”ve been a Bucs fan from day-1 which means at least 30+ of the 44 years I’ve been a Bucs fan have been embarrassing enough. Please Bucs, not another decade or misery, REBUILD NOW!

  84. Rod Munch Says:

Hey, the ESPN feed on YouTube is completely different from TV and they’re actually talking about players and showing highlights.

  85. MadMax Says:

    thanks Rod, and free too

    Lets effin go BUCS!

  86. Goatfarmer Says:

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Everyone knows it’s Bryce. Get on with it already. I’ll be on my second hangover by the time the Bucs pick.

  87. Jeagan1999 Says:

    Here we go!

  88. DoooshLaRue Says:

Mel Kiper…….. the Chris Meyers of draft “gurus”….

  89. MadMax Says:

    12 seconds faster also

  90. MadMax Says:

    Yeah Seriously Goat lol

  91. Rod Munch Says:

DoooshLaRue has a love so pure,
For Chris Meyers, the sports connoisseur.
He sees him as the Mel Kiper of the game,
With knowledge and insight that’s truly insane.

From touchdowns to home runs, Meyers knows it all,
And DoooshLaRue can’t help but heed his call.
He’s captivated by his voice so clear,
And the way he analyzes with such great care.

To DoooshLaRue, Meyers is more than a name,
He’s a beacon of wisdom, a guiding flame.
And though he may never meet him in real life,
His admiration for Meyers will always thrive.

  92. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Rod making me think espn coverage deserves a second look.

  93. Rod Munch Says:

Damn, I was hoping the stupid Panthers would take AR15, convincing themselves that he’s the next Cam Newton.

  94. Goatfarmer Says:

Houston’s pick should already be in. Jesus this is painful. Vomitous. Regurgitory. Gross.

  95. DoooshLaRue Says:

You just don’t get it do you Fancy Man?
    That’s why it’s so funny.

    LITERALLY.

  96. PaulWartenberg Says:

    The Bucs select… Vasy

  97. Goatfarmer Says:

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  98. Rod Munch Says:

DoooshLaRue, you don’t like the poem? But I spent so much time making it for you.

  99. Goatfarmer Says:

Arizona should have their pick in by now. They take the Bama pass rush beast.

  100. DoooshLaRue Says:

It was a lovely poem Rod.
Reminiscent of your muse, Sir Oscar Wilde.

  101. Rod Munch Says:

DoooshLaRue’s ardor for Meyers doth soar,
Like a tempestuous sea with a restless roar.
In Meyers, he sees a Mel Kiper-like maven,
Whose sporting expertise is quite engraven.

To DoooshLaRue, Meyers is a deity of sorts,
A sportscaster with the poise and grace of courts.
Though they may never cross paths in the flesh,
DoooshLaRue’s passion for Meyers shall forever mesh.

  102. Goatfarmer Says:

    Rod – you’re a great American.

  103. MadMax Says:

oh crap, will anderson to texans

  104. Rod Munch Says:

    God bless.

  105. MadMax Says:

    wow, texans making noise!

  106. Dooley Says:

    Welp

  107. Rod Munch Says:

Oh man, this is like Draft Day the movie. Very exciting.

  108. MadMax Says:

yep, i knew that was coming….

  109. DailyRich Says:

    Texans gave up this year’s 2nd and next year’s 1st and 3rd.

  110. shak Says:

    wow

  111. Rod Munch Says:

This reminds me of the 92 Colts getting the 1st and 2nd pick in the draft — the #2 coming from the Bucs in exchange for Chris Chandler.

Thankfully the Colts blew the pick so it doesn’t seem as bad as it was.

  112. Usfbuc Says:

    Go QBs go

  113. Tucker Says:

    Oof colts being colts

  114. TBSwarm Says:

    Thank god they picked Richardson

  115. Buc4evr Says:

Dumb Colts. They bought into the hype. Lol.

  116. DBS Says:

Good. He’s gone. No more worrying we take him.

  117. Mike S Says:

    Ridiculous pick LOL Richardson

  118. Buc4evr Says:

Now someone please draft Levis and Hooker. Lol

  119. Usfbuc Says:

Just need Levis to go now

  120. Rod Munch Says:

    AR15? Kyle Trask’s backup!?! LOL!

  121. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Thank goodness Richardson is gone.

Bud Licht can’t make that mistake.

  122. UKBuccaneer Says:

Last three QB’s drafted by the colts: Peyton Manning. Andrew Luck. Anthony Richardson.

One of those gentlemen is out of place.

  123. Rod Munch Says:

If the Colts design their offense about Taylor and AR15, and they just run/run/run the ball, this will look like a good pick.

If they try to make him play a conventional offense, then he’ll certainly be a bust.

  124. UKBuccaneer Says:

QB’s who throw a lot of ints in high school and college also throw lots of ints in the pros.

  125. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Colts fans probably suffering some cognitive dissonance about now.

  126. SB Says:

JOE MUST BE GOING MENTAL RIGHT NOW WITH RICHARDSON GOING AT 4 😂😂😂

  127. Goatfarmer Says:

Do the Heehawks reach for Dijon?

  128. Curse of Gruden Says:

Joe seen jumping off the Skyway!

  129. SB Says:

    Usfbuc Says:

Just need Levis to go now
    …………….
    A freakin men.

  130. Goatfarmer Says:

Heehawks go with a CB at 5.

  131. Tucker Says:

It looks like a bust either way rod he is a worse Lamar Jackson.

  132. Tucker Says:

Maybe the colt bring back the wildcat who needs a quarterback anyway.

  133. KC Buc Says:

LOL THANK GOODNESS AR15 went to someone else

  134. HC Grover Says:

    More Beef for us.

  135. MadMax Says:

    Detroit traded out to AZ

  136. KC Buc Says:

^We do like beef, maybe with a little of that Dijon

  137. David Says:

….. and the Colts search for QB after getting rid of Peyton Manning continues.
    LOL
They took a RB at QB, who is extremely inaccurate, can’t read a defense, and has no experience… I’m not saying Anthony Richardson isn’t worth taking, but not on the first night

  138. unbelievable Says:

JFC how does the draft somehow go even slower and slower each year?

  139. PanthersSuck! Says:

Someone In indy is gonna lose their job in a year or two.

  140. unbelievable Says:

ARE-15 at #4 is also insane IMO

  141. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I was 4-4 till the Seahawks didn’t take Carter. How far will he fall?

  142. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Hope this doesn’t start a run of OL.

  143. BucsFan81 Says:

I have this feeling we are taking a RB round 1 first time since we traded back into the first round to grab Doug Martin.

  144. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Damn, hate to see an OT go at 6. Hoping for one to slide to the Buccos.

  145. Mike S Says:

The first Tackle off the board

  146. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Well, this draft is certainly entertaining tonight!

  147. Mike S Says:

    Raiders going QB here?

  148. Buc4evr Says:

    Great pick Raiders.

  149. HC Grover Says:

    Raiders pick Beef

  150. Jkendrick Says:

Robinson, Levi’s, Carter are still an opportunity. Robinson and Carter considered top 5 overall talents in this draft. Do we eventually trade up….

  151. Stevek Says:

Licht is going to do something crazy. Can’t wait!

  152. Mr. Editor Says:

Unfortunately, the Dixie Chicks have Jalen Carter available.

  153. PaulWartenberg Says:

    Please save us an OT…
    PLEASE SAVE US AN OT…

  154. Eric Says:

    Hmm Carter anyone!

  155. Buc4evr Says:

I thought the Dixie Chicks would pick Robinson on Njiba , but Carter is available? Don’t see how they can pass on Carter.

  156. HC Grover Says:

    Chicks pick Robinson

  157. MadMax Says:

    eagles traded up to #9

  158. Buc4evr Says:

Good, glad they didn’t get Carter.

  159. PaulWartenberg Says:

    WHOA
    FALCONS TOOK BIJAN

  160. cmurda Says:

Noooo. That pick hurts. Gotta deal with this guy multiple times a year.

  161. Stevek Says:

    Bonanza to the Falcons!

  162. Mike S Says:

    BIJAN GONE!

  163. MadMax Says:

I bet the eagles take Carter….thats why

  164. Stevek Says:

    Bijan.

  165. Mike S Says:

No way Eagles don’t go defense here

  166. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Wow! Hope we can tackle Robinson.

  167. Bojim Says:

Guess we play against Bijan twice.

  168. Infomeplease Says:

Who designs these stupid hats? Do they look good on anyone?

  169. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Every time I see the highlights tonight I’m like “Damn. I wanted that guy”.

  170. Will Says:

I didn’t want him in our division unless he was a Buc

  171. Jeagan1999 Says:

    Sh*t!

  172. Jmarkbuc Says:

    We trade Diva White yet?

    Bijan twice a year.. oof.

  173. Mord Says:

Robinson could be good with the hated Falcons, but he’s a running back they spent a high first round pick on. I’m glad they got him instead of Carter.

  174. BucsFan81 Says:

Don’t worry next year we will get to pick in the top 5 with Bowles fired. That’s when the real draft starts.

  175. BucfaninMi Says:

Every team in the south but the Bucs, have made huge steps forward.

  176. Buc4evr Says:

Eagles saw Carter was available and traded up. Bet they go after Carter.

  177. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

    Carter gonna be a bEagle.

  178. Stevek Says:

Still thinking Licht is going to pull something off. Looking forward to it.

  179. Greg Says:

    TRADE… UP…. GET…. CJ STROUD…… NOW!!!!!

  180. Buc4evr Says:

My God Eagles fans are ugly. Lol

  181. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Stroud is already gone

  182. Buc4evr Says:

    Yep

  183. MadMax Says:

    yep

  184. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    10 picks to go!

  185. David Says:

Wow. That’s in reference to the Philadelphia Eagles D line for the next decade.

  186. Dewey Selmon Says:

Anyone on the Hooker train? The run on OL is about to start.

  187. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I’m sure Licht has a good plan. He’s great at spotting OL guys.

  188. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Carter crying like a baby. So happy to get the hell out of Athens.

  189. Shark Coast Tactical Says:

Falcons got the best running back and Carolina got the best QB. Prepare yourselves my friends for a long decade.

  190. Usfbuc Says:

That’s a good pick for the Eagles

  191. Buc4evr Says:

Bet the Bears get Skoronski now. Northwestern guy. Da Bears.

  192. PaulWartenberg Says:

So which OT will be there for the Bucs NOW???

  193. Capt.Tim Says:

This is a really weak draft. Worst in years.
Glad its our “ throw away “ year.
Next year should be a derp draft- And we’ll have a high pick

Just gotta suffer thru this year- then things will be better

  194. Canabuc Says:

Hope Jones or wright fall to us

  195. Capt.Tim Says:

    Deep*

  196. Mr. Editor Says:

Any Tackle needy teams between now and when the Bucs pick?

  197. Buc4evr Says:

    Well they got an OT.

  198. Tucker Says:

    There goes another tackle

  199. MadMax Says:

    Well dmn!!!

  200. FortMyersDave Says:

Sean has been pretty accurate on his mock draft so far.

  201. Mike S Says:

    Another T

  202. Bucsdelight Says:

Will Levis in mock drafts. Will we take a QB..

  203. PaulWartenberg Says:

    Sigh
We ARE gonna draft a kicker in the first at this rate…

  204. Mike S Says:

Lukas Van Ness at Bucs #19?

  205. Tucker Says:

Hope Sean is wrong about the bucs pic

  206. Jkendrick Says:

Not Wright. Tackle position is about to drop. Maybe Levi’s , D-line, or Def secondary

  207. Canabuc Says:

    Damn wright to Bears!

  208. PaulWartenberg Says:

    Wright gone.

  209. Jkendrick Says:

Do not want Lucas at all

  210. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Tim, you were more correct with the derp.

  211. Jkendrick Says:

Or can we get a hooker?

  212. Mr. Editor Says:

If a top quality Tackle is not there, trade down.

  213. Rover Says:

    TRADE DOWN!!!!

  214. Dewey Selmon Says:

If the OL gone and no Hookers in sight might have to go Lock ness or Nolan Smith

  215. David Says:

There’s the big kid from Northwestern, but if getting a lineman is a reach, then don’t do it. There are a lot of DBs worthy of a first round pick.

Then there is Nolan Smith… He has the potential to be a pro bowler, a game changer on D but… It’s a slight gamble

  216. Usfbuc Says:

Two of the top tackles are still available

  217. BucsFan81 Says:

Trade down pickup more picks. More chances of hitting on someone. Trade the Diva white for a second round pick tomorrow.

  218. Tucker Says:

Nolan smith would be a solid pick

  219. Buc4evr Says:

Harrison, Skronski and Jones are still on the board.

  220. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Pretty sure the thumbtacks will screw this up.

  221. Capt.Tim Says:

    I like Will Levis
Pocket passers are still winning the SuperBowl.
There’s a really special Guard out there.
    O’cyrus
Yeah- he’d improve the team immediately.
Van Ness as sn edge rusher would be a good pick up. Our pass rush is as anemic as our O-Line

  222. Buc4evr Says:

Ugh, well Jones and Harrison are still on the board.

  223. Dewey Selmon Says:

Detroit has 2 picks before us. Hooker will be a Lion tonight.

  224. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

    Maybe not.

  225. Mike S Says:

    Yet Another T

  226. PaulWartenberg Says:

    Skor is gone.

    Uh oh

  227. Bucsdelight Says:

    Hooker to Patriots?

  228. David Says:

Lukas Van Ness maybe? Nolan Smith has the bigger upside if they’re looking at edge

Brian branch safety seems like a sure thing if he’s there

  229. Buc4evr Says:

Surprised that da bears passed on Skoronski. Short arms I guess. Lol.

  230. rrsrq Says:

Run on tackles, hoping Harrison slides, will Licht be patient

  231. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    Lions, lol.

  232. Tucker Says:

    Wow wth lol

  233. Dooley Says:

This is an absolute free-for-all, Lions pick makes sense, but wow 12th overall?

  234. Rod Munch Says:

Thank God, get all these stupid running backs off the board. Means good players are falling.

  235. David Says:

I will be disappointed if they take Hooker or Levis. Better QBs next year.

    Van Ness
    Nolan Smith
    Brian Branch
    A number of CBs
    And the Northwestern Tackle

  236. Rusty Shackleford Says:

IMO, we should one-up the Lions and draft that elite long snapper from UCF with the 19th pick. Just for the lulz.

  237. MadMax Says:

Alright, bijan and Gibbs, that means Achane is going in the 2nd

  238. Mr. Editor Says:

Well, now that half of Detroit’s players are suspended because of gambling, they have multiple needs.

  239. Tucker Says:

    Northwestern tackle is gone

  240. PaulWartenberg Says:

The hell did Lions draft for an RB who was going to be there by the Second Round?

  241. Rusty Shackleford Says:

If any of you want a good back, that kid from Tulane will be available in the 4th round and he will be a stud.

  242. David Says:

    Munch.

Definitely. Absolutely positively no reason to ever take a running back in the first round. Never never never.

  243. Infomeplease Says:

    F the Jonas Bris.

  244. MadMax Says:

I bet Green bay goes Kincaid here

  245. Rusty Shackleford Says:

If the Bucs are going to draft a back, Tyjae Spears from Tulane will still be there in the fourth round and it will be a steal, IMO.

  246. Jkendrick Says:

David, I would have considered Robinson a steal if he was available in the 20-25 range. Especially with what is currently available. Even though we have bigger needs.

  247. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I still think Hooker will continue to slide. And slide.

  248. Capt.Tim Says:

I think O’Cyrus Torrence is going to be a Right Tackle in the NFL.
But guard or Tackle- He is a big nimble monster.
    He would help immediately

  249. RBUC Says:

SCREW U DETROIT LIONS!! I WANTED JAHMYR GIBBS🤬

  250. Mr. Editor Says:

Some teams in front of us are known for drafting in the trenches. Let’s hope that they go for skills positions.

  251. Jkendrick Says:

If we don’t take a OT early. Carter Warren in the 3-5th round!

  252. David Says:

Well that’s not surprising. Kids going to be very good and consistent.

  253. MadMax Says:

    Oh, Ness!!!

  254. David Says:

RBUC??? do you want of the Buccaneers to take a running back in the first round that’s not even the best running back in the draft?wow

  255. Mike S Says:

Van Ness goes to Green Bay

  256. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

I don’t know man. Those running backs are darn good.

  257. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    Washington to take Levis, IMO.

  258. Mike S Says:

No T – no EDGE – Bucs are in trouble

  259. Bucsdelight Says:

Not surprised. Patriots are known for trading back

  260. MadMax Says:

    pats traded up….O’cyrus maybe?

  261. MadMax Says:

    or Jones, yep

  262. PaulWartenberg Says:

Steelers moved up. Prolly getting Jones.

  263. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

So far, not much of a run on tackle.

  264. Mike S Says:

Pats trade down – nobody is shocked

  265. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    Lightning win game 5.

  266. Bucsdelight Says:

    they got a 4th rd pick..oof terrible

  267. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Rays winning by an insane score against the White Sox.

  268. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Unreal how the Lightning were a minute away from sending the Maple Leafs home.

  269. MadMax Says:

    Pitt traded up, my bad

  270. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Only 2 tackles left to get in this round.

  271. Ben the GA Buc Says:

I agree Washington will take Levis.

  272. Mike S Says:

    There’s the last T

  273. David Says:

    Rusty

I should be happy they just won but I’m pissed because they have beat the heck out of Toronto 3 straight games and they lost 2 of them at home in OT

  274. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Seems like Steelers always select OL first.

  275. Bucsdelight Says:

Jets aren’t happy with their QB right? Maybe Hooker here

  276. Rusty Shackleford Says:

@ David – the Lightning piddled away two straight games and were a minute and change away from winning this series tonight.

  277. Trask To The Future Says:

    BUCS IN NO MANS LAND.

So dumb not to trade up to secure one of the top OL. They’ll be gone by 19.

  278. PaulWartenberg Says:

    Dammit
Save a spot for Anton Harrison please

  279. Buc4evr Says:

Geez only Harrison is left. Wonder if Licht trades down if Harrison goes, or worse yet drafts Levis.

  280. Bucsdelight Says:

nvm, I forgot Rodgers went there.

  281. DBS Says:

I hope to hell he is not sitting on hi hands to get Hooker. Unless nobody wanted to trade for a Diva.

  282. David Says:

    MIKE S

    Peter Skoronski NW

Many had him as the number one prospect, and he has not gone. Two of the guys taken, including Broderick Jones, were borderline round two selections.

  283. Bucsdelight Says:

Mock draft was showing Levis going to Bucs. So wouldn’t be a surprise.

  284. Rod Munch Says:

Licht can find offensive lineman later in the draft.

Also it’s not like it matters for this year as the team is going to stink. So just get a guy who takes longer to develop, so they’re ready to play when the team is getting better, ie after Bowles is fired and the team has a QB.

  285. Mike Johnson Says:

Them Falcons got themselves a star RB. He is going to be Great. Not just good.

  286. PaulWartenberg Says:

Satellite dish at the restaurant just went dead. Winds outside must be insane

  287. Bucsdelight Says:

David, Skoronski went #11 to Titans

  288. David Says:

Daniel Jeremiah’s best available list on the NFL network is not very good. Let’s just say it’s unique compared to most lists.

  289. Usfbuc Says:

Maybe edge rusher then for the Bucs? Or big TE? I like the big guard out of Florida too

  290. Rusty Shackleford Says:

I just don’t see Washington passing on Levis, even though they are still high on Sam Howell.

  291. Trask To The Future Says:

    David,

Soronksi is gone! He went 11th.

  292. Jkendrick Says:

    Jets trying to trade?

  293. Usfbuc Says:

There is also Dawand Jones at OT, he is purely a RT from the reviews I had read

  294. Usfbuc Says:

    Or a trade back

  295. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

OK, Harrison or trade down and stay in the 1st round

  296. David Says:

I really hate taking someone who just seems really good without a lot of production, but has a tremendous upside… In the first round but… Man, the Bucs need speed and Nolan Smith brings it

  297. Jeagan1999 Says:

    OLine help looks spotty now.

    TE? LB? Trade down?

  298. Whoolio? Says:

Kincaid or Nolan Smith. Wouldn’t be mad at a trade back either.

  299. PaulWartenberg Says:

Some poor kid is a JETS fan????

  300. Mr. Editor Says:

Was Nolan Smith one of the players that the Bucs invited?

  301. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    Jets, lol.

  302. PaulWartenberg Says:

    McDonald is a bit of a reach…

  303. Mr. Editor Says:

    Kyle Brady 2.0?

  304. David Says:

    Trask….
I was going back-and-forth to the lightning game and missed that.

That tells me the Buccaneers should no way draft a lineman at this point. There isn’t one left that’s worth the first round. They can get value in around two and three.

    Nolan Smith
    Brian Branch

Those would be my preference is in that order

  305. MadMax Says:

Well, Harrison will hopefully be there….or Nolan Smith is growing on me….

  306. Dewey Selmon Says:

The run on TE will start soon.

  307. Rusty Shackleford Says:

So the Skins will take Levis ?

  308. Canabuc Says:

Thinking Nolan Smith or trade back.
Harrison or Dawan Jon’s can be. Had later in the round. Someone will want to trade up for Gonzalez.

  309. Tucker Says:

I think if Harrison is there they draft him right there

  310. Rod Munch Says:

TE would be stupid, it’s not a need, Otton showed plenty.

  311. Mr. Editor Says:

Levis might be there at #19? Yikes!

  312. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    Washington, lol.

  313. Mr. Editor Says:

    Save TE until Round 2.

  314. Rusty Shackleford Says:

If Levis is there, then you need to take him or trade down and be content for the long rebuild.

  315. David Says:

Wow. The dude is a playmaker, but he needs to add a minimum of 30 pounds.

Cool, Nolan Smith or Brian Branch

  316. Tucker Says:

They still need a tightend even with what otton showed but not in the first.

  317. MadMax Says:

Washington and Jets doing Washington and Jets things lol….

  318. Rod Munch Says:

Don’t draft a TE at all, we had 2 rookies that played well, and rookie TEs rarely play well. It’s not a need, not on a team with as many holes as the Bucs. RB and TE are both luxury picks, the very very bottom of the need list.

  319. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Cam Brate was a great tight end for almost ten years and we got him off the heap.

  320. Infomeplease Says:

    Won’t be long now!

  321. Usfbuc Says:

Otton is good but the Bucs will add a TE

  322. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Could the Lions take Levis ? They seemed to have something working with Goff last year.

  323. Tucker Says:

Levis shouldn’t even be drafted in the first hard pass on that one.

  324. Canabuc Says:

Ok Nolan Smith still there. Think we go for him?
    Please not Levis

  325. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

    Gonzalez, CB looks pissed…lol

  326. Mr. Editor Says:

Although New England’s draft record is overrated (yes, I conceded that they picked the GOAT), they could take a player that we want.

  327. Jkendrick Says:

Someone might trade up with the lions for Levis

  328. Canabuc Says:

We don’t need branch would rather get Sydney Brown in next round or trade up in 3rd.

  329. Dewey Selmon Says:

OT Harrison from Oklahoma. keep Wirfs at RT

  330. Mr. Editor Says:

OK, Lions! Do what you do best!

  331. Rusty Shackleford Says:

There will still be good lineman in the 3rd and 4th rounds. Jordan McFadden from Clemson, for example.

  332. Rod Munch Says:

Lions are stalling to see what offers they get for the pick.

  333. Just Leave Trask Alone Says:

    Bucs draft LB?

  334. Tucker Says:

    It’s probably Harrison

  335. Mr. Editor Says:

NE should be docked draft picks for selecting someone with a suit like that!

  336. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Give me Harrison. I’m with Dewey, who has rolled joints and cold beer. Great combo!

  337. dalvincookrules Says:

Anthony Richardson is going to make Jameis Winston look like Tom Brady.

  338. Rusty Shackleford Says:

The Bucs should draft that long snapper out of UCF just for the lulz.

  339. Canabuc Says:

Would love to get Smith the. Trade up in 2nd and get Dawand Jones.

  340. SOEbuc Says:

Omg. All the power just went off in my area!

  341. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Lions have Goof as QB. Might they take a QB?

  342. PaulWartenberg Says:

    Oh Gods
    BUCS UP
    LFG

  343. Tucker Says:

The bucs should draft the water boy out of Michigan maybe they stop blowing out hamstrings

  344. Bucsdelight Says:

    Levis

  345. Rusty Shackleford Says:

BUCS NEED TO TAKE THE LONG SNAPPER OUT OF UCF!

  346. Mr. Editor Says:

Conventional wisdom says that they pick defense, but it is the Lions after all.

  347. Bucmarley Says:

    Trade back !!!

  348. Rod Munch Says:

OK, so Lions are taking a pick, must not have liked what they got offered.

  349. Knucknbuc Says:

    Pretty sure it Levi’s

  350. Tucker Says:

Crazy no wr drafted as of yet.

  351. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Jesus! Give us the PICK! Lion’s pick is IN

  352. HC Grover Says:

    Hope we get Avila

  353. Dewey Selmon Says:

hey Alvin! wife won’t let me toke inside, waiting for the pick to go outside to celebrate. hope all is well

  354. Herbiebuc Says:

We need speed on offense Zay Flowers!

  355. Capt.Tim Says:

    Ok.
Is gonna be a good player,
Or a Jameis Winston/ Vernon Heagreaves/ Logan Hall pick?
We are about to find out

  356. Tucker Says:

    Be quiet booger.

  357. Bucsdelight Says:

    WHAT!

  358. Dewey Selmon Says:

    Go get Hooker!

  359. cmurda Says:

Get Will Levis right freaking now

  360. Beeej Says:

    here we go

  361. Tucker Says:

    Lol wow

  362. David Says:

I do not have a dog in this race, there are a lot of needs, but I am all about the trenches and right now Nolan Smith is still there and so is Myles Murphy.

  363. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    JACK CAMPBELL!!!! LOL

  364. Rod Munch Says:

Interesting… Bucs can get a QB if they want one.

  365. Capt.Tim Says:

Levis, Torrence would be my pick. One of those 2

  366. MadMax Says:

    And there goes captain Jack!

  367. Buc4evr Says:

Ok, now let’s see if Jason drafts Harrison. Or drafts Levis or maybe a kicker.

  368. Canabuc Says:

    Nolan Smith please

  369. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Draft Levis or trade down and get additional pics.

  370. MadMax Says:

Harrison or O’Cyrus Torrence….or trade down.

  371. Mr. Editor Says:

Anton Harrison, you are cleared to land!

  372. MadMax Says:

Or Smith, draft O line later….

  373. Rod Munch Says:

    Pick is in.

  374. David Says:

    Myles Murphy and Nolan Smith…

There are some good CBs and S Brian Branch is still there ….
but how can they not pick one of these guys to help with the pass rush???

  375. Thunder Says:

    Will Levis

  376. David Says:

God, I hope it’s not the quarterback

  377. Stevek Says:

Trade back a spot or two, Jason.

    Or take the buckeye receiver.

  378. MadMax Says:

    We picked quick….

  379. Goatfarmer Says:

Oh Sh!t. Just trade down, just trade down, just trade down. No to Levis.

    NO TO LEVIS.

    My liver can’t handle it.

  380. shak Says:

    who?

  381. Buc50 Says:

    Kancey is the pick

  382. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Lol! Jason Licht

  383. Mr. Editor Says:

A lot of ‘reaches’ have us to this point. Thank the football gods for teams like the Lions!

  384. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Levis is not Buccaneer material. Move it along.

  385. Mr. Editor Says:

Could trade down and still select a decent Tackle.

  386. Bucsdelight Says:

    Kancey lol

  387. Jeagan1999 Says:

    Kancey.

  388. cmurda Says:

YYYYUUUCCCKKKK. Will Levis was the GD pick

  389. HC Grover Says:

    BEEF!!!!

  390. Buc4evr Says:

I’m ok with this. Guy is a stud.

  391. Usfbuc Says:

Okay I am good with this pick

  392. Trask To The Future Says:

WTf Bucs50, don’t ruin the draft.

  393. David Says:

Ok. I forgot about this kid. He is a play maker from the inside.

  394. Canabuc Says:

    Wtf. Hate the pick

  395. Bucsdelight Says:

I guess they got faith in Baker

  396. Aceofaerospace Says:

    Who?

  397. Stevek Says:

Boom! Now this was a great pick.

  398. MadMax Says:

hmmm, that aaron Donald comparison guy…ok!

  399. Canabuc Says:

They never pick the obvious great player there.

  400. Curse of Gruden Says:

This is good. The guy can play.

  401. Goatfarmer Says:

    Yes! YESSS!

Big. Ugly. Strong. Fast. Teeth optional. And smart.

  402. Stevek Says:

Love this pick. Put a quick guy next to vita to eat.

  403. Tucker Says:

    I’m good with that pick

  404. cmurda Says:

He is a darn good looking DE

  405. Rod Munch Says:

Kancey is a 4-3 DT… Hall and JTS are 4-3 ends.

If Bowles doesn’t change up things to match his personnel, he’s an idiot.

  406. PaulWartenberg Says:

    What the hell
    WHAT THE HELL
    WE NEEDED OFFENSIVE TACKLE
    WHAT THE HELL

  407. FortMyersDave Says:

Amen Mr Editor, 2 reaches for Detroit, its like Matt Millen is back but decided not to get WRs.

  408. David Says:

JTS and Logan Hall better start stepping up on the outside because VEA and this kid our sealing up the inside

  409. cmurda Says:

Football wise. I need to clarify

  410. Mr. Editor Says:

Wow! Logan Hall has just been put on notice.

  411. Ben the GA Buc Says:

    I like the pick!

  412. Infomeplease Says:

I can live with that! At some point one of these D line picks pan out.

  413. David Says:

    Paul

Because there were no offensive tackles were the other first round pick left.

  414. unbelievable Says:

Nice. Wish his arms were as long as Donald’s though!

  415. Voice of Truth Says:

Love this pick!!!!! Build the trenches!!!! This guy next to Vea is a hell of a tandem!!!!

  416. Dewey Selmon Says:

    Build the trenches. Nice pickup.

  417. Whoolio? Says:

Kancey looks pissed about going to tampa.

  418. Rusty Shackleford Says:

WHO ? LICHT FRAKED IT UP!

  419. Bucsdelight Says:

We can only hope he is like Donald

  420. FortMyersDave Says:

Thank God it was not one of the QBs . This is a solid pick, beef for the line.

  421. Mike28277 Says:

    Like the pick

  422. Infomeplease Says:

    Still need a left tackle.

  423. DingleBerry Says:

I like the pick a lot. Dude is being compared to Aaron Donald for a reason.

  424. Goatfarmer Says:

Those of you that hate the pick don’t understand where the game is won and lost. Try watching axe throwing to toughen your soft arses up. Licht Leaps Again!

  425. BucsFan1328 Says:

Love this pick. We need help all over but gives us another really good interior lineman

  426. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I’m fine with that pick. This kid is gonna be good!

  428. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Welcome to the Bucs Kalijah!

    Lets Go!

  429. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Ha, ha, ha, ha. Good pick. DL is thin. QBs will get hurt in Tampa.

  430. Bucs Guy Says:

What are we thinking? We could have traded down and got him!!
    Should have taken Harrison

  431. Leopold Stotch Says:

Sean Sullivan punching the air rn.

  432. rrsrq Says:

This pick is all about who the Falcons and Panthers picked

  433. Canabuc Says:

He better be the next Aaron Donald and not the next Logan Hall.

  434. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The surprise move…they play him next to…Devin White.

  435. D-Rome Says:

Good pick. On the flash polls I voted for defensive line/edge rusher. Glad they didn’t go full retard and pick a QB.

  436. Rod Munch Says:

If he’s Donald, then he should have went 1st overall.

That’s a terrible comparison, it’s like saying Booger was the next Sapp – even though Booger was a good player, because he wasn’t Sapp people always bashed him.

  437. Marine Buc Says:

Interesting pick… I like Kancey a lot. He will be used all across the D-line.

Will we go OT in round 2? Or maybe Goedeke, Feiler and Walton will battle for the RT spot.

  438. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Can never have enough defensive line talent >> See Eagles

  439. Frank Pillow Says:

I LOVE THIS PICK! There’s so loafing in this kid. He’s all motor!

  440. Irishmist Says:

This will help both our pass rush and run defense. Great pick.

  441. Bucsdelight Says:

He will be awarded a four-year contract worth $14,493,475 and a $7,540,709 signing bonus. Before he shattered all-time records with his speed and quickness at the NFL Combine and Pitt’s Pro Day, Kancey was a unanimous All-American and ACC Defensive Player of the Year this past season after recording 31 tackles, 14.5 for a loss and 7.5 sacks in 11 games this year.

    .

LOL…Tampa fans say that every year.

  443. David Says:

Sure seems like they are going back to a 4-3. Hall and JTS outside, this kid and VEA on the inside… Shaq can stand up as OLB and come from everywhere.

  444. BigDaddyD Says:

Moving back to a 4-3…good move.

  445. Duane Says:

So much for all the talk, especially by JBF, that the Bucs were clearly not satisfied with the Trask-Mayfield competition at quarterback.

  446. Rod Munch Says:

Bucs don’t need to reach on an offensive lineman, if no one is there, then don’t take anyone and just resign Smith. It’s not like the Bucs are going to be good this year, so there is no need to reach for guys to fill a hole.

  447. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I’m good with the pick. It was one of the lines and there really wasn’t a good OL guy there.

  448. Capt.Tim Says:

Another dtupid pick. We play a 3-4, and have Vita Vea.
This guy is a Logan Hall “tweener” clone.

This team has the worst record of any Professional team in history
Stupid waste in the 1st round is the reason

At least Logan Hall now has someone to keep him company on the bench.
A 280 DT is about as useless as it gets

Why do I watch this team??

  449. firethecannons Says:

Bleacher Report guy Renner calling it am Aplus and Felder calling it a A

  450. Buc4evr Says:

Wonder if the play him on the Edge as a pass rusher? The guy is short and fast.

  451. BigDaddyD Says:

David back to Will. Shaq at Sam and White at Mike. Seems like a strong option and easier on Shaq coming back from injury.

  452. rrsrq Says:

Trade back in the first, give up a second next year and get Harrison

  453. Fansince76 Says:

    Good pick!
Bucs needed a pass rusher in the worst way and they got one!

  454. Pewter Power Says:

I knew they weren’t going tackle. I’m glad though, can’t be drafting one in the second round and allow him to sit the bench but surprised they went d tackle

  455. David Says:

    Munch

LoL. That was the first thing I thought the moment they compared him to Aaron Donald… Come on. They get carried away with these comparisons every single draft. I know they’re just talking about style and attributes, but it doesn’t matter, people hear the name and if they don’t live up to that name, the kid is doomed. Very unfair.

  456. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Duane Says:
“So much for all the talk, especially by JBF, that the Bucs were clearly not satisfied with the Trask-Mayfield competition at quarterback.”

I don’t recall that being said at all about the Bucs.

    The fans (me included)? Yep.

  457. Bucamania Says:

    Love the pick

  458. Another J Says:

    I love this pick.
The more people we get that can chase down a quarterback, The better it is.

  459. Canabuc Says:

Let me rephrase I do t hate the pick or the player. I hate that we took him at 19 when we could have traded back and still got him. Nolan smith at edge was sitting there….

I fully expect us to trade up in round 2 and get Dawand Jones.

  460. Buc4evr Says:

  463. Mr. Editor Says:

Are we already drafting for special teams? In the first round? Has Gruden been named our head coach? Still, I’ll root for Mr. Kancey!

  464. Day 1-76 Says:

Maybe not the obvious pick but a damn good one.

  465. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Oh noes! Levis looks like he has the dreaded “chip on his shoulder”. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

  466. David Says:

Grateful for the Lightning win tonight
and that the Buccaneers did not go after a quarterback, like Levis or a Hooker, that clearly don’t belong in the first round

  467. Buc4evr Says:

Ok pick, but thought they would get an OT. So maybe Wirfs is moving to LT now?

  468. David Says:

    Mr Editor obviously is clueless

  469. MadMax Says:

If he is close to a Donald clone, we hit on this one….this had Bowles written all over it.

  470. Pewter Power Says:

    D-Rome
Glad they didn’t go full retard and pick a QB.

    Never go full retarded

  471. Capt.Tim Says:

    Too small for DT
    Too sliw for DE.
EXACT same thing Insaid about Logan Hall last year.
Hall couldnt get on the field.
    Soooo
    We draft his clone.

We are back to the long decades of buc suc

  472. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Talk about bad drafts. I’m looking at you Seahawks!

  473. Stormy Says:

It’s a good pick. Trenches and sacks. Since the OT were gone, this is the better call.

As for trading down – no one knows what or if Licht was offered anything, so anyone who bashes Licht for not doing so is a fool.

  474. Mr. Editor Says:

Maybe the Bucs have an agreement in principle with Donovan Smith?

  475. Duane Says:

Buccaneer Baznzai – apparently you didn’t read the dozens of posts here by JBF claiming that the Bucs saying they were satisfied to go with Trask or Mayfield was just smokescreen bullshit. And most of the last round of mocks quoted by JBF this past week all said the Bucs would draft a qb at 19, or trade up, rather than stick with Trask or Mayfield.

Apparently you were sleeping under a rock.

Let me rephrase I do t hate the pick or the player. I hate that we took him at 19 when we could have traded back and still got him. Nolan smith at edge was sitting there….

    Just so you understand:

    1. Calijah Kancey has been so much more productive than Nolan Smith.
    2. The only reason, I am guessing you don’t like Kancey is his small size but Smith has ridiculously small size as well. The funny thing is that Smith had almost no success rushing the passer. His strength in college was run defense.

A projection of Smith being successful in the NFL is a much bigger reach than Kancey being successful.

  477. Rod Munch Says:

I like the pick, much better than picking a luxury RB or TE.

I’d have been OK with a QB, but would rather wait until next year when the next coach will be able to get their guy.

Defensive lineman take a year or two to develop, so take this guy now, and maybe he’s ready to go in 2024.

Exactly. I predicted last week that Bowles would probably want DL with the first pick. I wanted OL, but so many went off the board that I really didn’t expect one when we finally picked.

It pretty much had to be DL…so Licht gave Bowles the pick.

Although…the expression on Bowles face said he knows he’ll be fired if the pick is a dud.

  479. Dooley Says:

Kancey is going to make his money on mid-late downs and long distances, would not be surprised if he gets teased on the edge to get him 1 on 1’s. Solid pick

  480. David Says:

    Cap’t Tim.
Too slow????? You obviously read an article somewhere and have never watched this kid play and have no idea what you’re talking about. He’s the fastest defensive tackle in 20 years. He’s never going to be VEA in the middle over 300 pounds, but he doesn’t have to be.

  481. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Head coach should have a ssy in the picks. Looks like Bowles did and its a good pick if it pans out. He was picked about where he was rated so if he busts it’s his fault. Mostly.

  482. David Says:

Vea in the middle and they have Hall and this kid – both versatile enough to go inside and out. I like it. Hall and JTS better step up and most importantly hopefully Shaq is back healthy. He

    • Keeanu Benton

    • Karl Brooks
    • Jerrod Clark

  484. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    David, he’s not a tackle.

  485. TDTB Says:

What does this say about Logan Hall?

  486. David Says:

    Geno

I love Nolan Smith, but you are absolutely correct, he is somewhat of a reach because he does not have the production.
This kid is a quick twitch, DT with speed to spare, and is always wreaking havoc in the backfield.
It is a very good pic. I still think Nolan Smith in the right situation could be a game changer but there’s probably a 40% chance of a bust

  487. Geno711 Says:

    @Buccaneer Bonzai.

He played tackle in college so not sure why you are suggesting that.

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com compared him to John Randle HOF tackle.

Now switch to a 4-3 and you got…

    DE JTS
    DT VITA
    DT KANCEY
    DE HALL

Depth, Greg Gaines and Patrick O’Connor.

That looks WAY better than pre-draft.

Also would mean the Bucs are taking a LB in the 2nd.

Not that Bowles will actually change up things, that would be too risky for him. But that’s also why Licht was taking Kancey for the next head coach.

  489. David Says:

    TDBT

I don’t think that says anything about Hall. Picking 0L & DL every single year in the first couple rounds should always be done.
What says a lot about Hall is how he disappeared completely from the playing field the last half of the season.

He and JTS need to step up

  490. Rod Munch Says:

Oh yeah, and Nelson as a 4-3 DE depth as well – maybe a starter if needed.

  491. David Says:

Munch- don’t forget SHAQ. He can start at end or OLB.

  492. JeffreyLane77 Says:

Kancey is a part time player. He’s basically going to be in on 3rd down and obvious pass play situations. I’m not sure we are getting “Value” for this pick at 19.

  493. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @Munch

We run a Hybrid Front – So sure we’ll see some of that but I doubt it’ll be our base though.

  494. Rod Munch Says:

LUVMYBUCS – yeah, but I’d still just change it up so Kancey is inside, and JTS is on the line, use both where they can help you the most instead of just trying to make guys run your system.

But correct, you’re playing a ton of nickel and dime, so that’s a fair point.

Munch- don’t forget SHAQ. He can start at end or OLB.

    ————-

If you switch to a 4-3, it doesn’t have to be a Tampa 2 you’re running, if you run an attacking 4-3, Shaq can basically do the same thing he’s doing now, as a stand up edge rusher. I wouldn’t move Shaq to the line, formally, I’d want to keep him standing up as he’d be probably the smallest DE in the NFL if he was put there.

But the personnel really seems to point to running a 4-3 – but as noted above, you run so much nickel and dime, it’s probably not all that important what the base defense is.

  496. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @Munch

We’ll have a much clearer picture going into camp.

  497. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Or…they could have him play in a 3-4 this year…doesn’t matter. Next year will be a totally new system.

  498. Rod Munch Says:

BTW, the ESPN coverage on YouTube has been mostly great tonight, it’s a totally different team, almost all talking about football, and no commercials. You’re getting all the player highlights and scouting info they used to show on TV before they started marketing the draft to women and Bud Light drinkers.

  499. Dooley Says:

We are in a 4-2-5 >60% of the time on defense.

  502. Mayfield beleeber Says:

I have it on good authority thay Jason Licht sold his cow for magic beans that can grow one’s arms by three inches, We should be okay.

  503. Canabuc Says:

My issue with the pick is it doesn’t fit in a 3 -4.
If they switch to 4-3 and he becomes our 3 technique and we move Hall to Defensive End and home JTS and Spence rotate at end with Shaq playing end and LB or situational pass rusher.
Have Gaines be rotational back up in the middle to spell Vea and our new pick. Then this could work.
At 3-4 he is an undersized end and not right body type to play edge

  504. Goatfarmer Says:

You all should be fondling yourselves over this pick. I know I am.

    Over Nolan Smith?

    I don’t know man.

    Huge mistake.

  510. Rod Munch Says:

ESPN says… High-impact Day 1 starter. Kancey is a fantastic pass-rusher with awesome take-off quickness, which could make him Tampa Bay’s next Gerald McCoy-type 3-technique. He’ll be a rookie starter with double-digit sack potential.
    —-
    Yeah, I’ll take a 3-time ALL-PRO and 5-time pro-bowler. Thank you very much.

  511. Goatfarmer Says:

So — what is more important — Did Bog Storm run out of beer? Ans where the hell is the video???
