Easily-Offended Thought Police Are Easily Offended By Tom Brady Retirement Talk

February 3rd, 2023

Someone always finds a problem.

Probably one of the least offensive men in America somehow found a way, albeit indirectly, to get the easily-offended crowd to suck their thumbs, curl up in fetal position and whine. And that man is none other than Tom Brady.

Former Pro Bowl center Shaun O’Hara of NFL Network pinch-hit for Kyle Brandt on “Good Morning Football” yesterday and spoke of Tom Brady’s retirement. He said folks will remember where they were when Brady retired just like an older generation remembers the moment they heard news of John Kennedy’s assassination or the 9/11 tragedy.

The always-annoyed infants at Awful Announcing went bananas at O’Hara’s take.

Someone by the name of Brandon Contes claims O’Hara compared Brady’s retirement to the tragedies of JFK getting his brains splattered on the back of a limo or the 9/11 attacks. O’Hara did nothing of the sort! Contes even highlighted O’Hara’s quote and still he somehow thinks O’Hara compared Brady’s retirement to those awful moments in history.

“This is a huge moment, not just for Tom Brady, not just for the NFL, but for all of us,” O’Hara said. “Look, people remember where they were when JFK was assassinated. They remember where they were for 9/11.”

There is nothing remotely repulsive about that. Overly dramatic, sure. But man, if that gets your panties bunched up, imagine the drugs you’d need to inhale to get through a news report of the slaughter on the streets of Chicago on a given weekend.

The only thing Joe can figure is this is the height of virtue signaling, absolutely concocting something out of nothing to appear to care more than the average slob.

Well, it backfired. Contes looks like a damn fool.

Even Warner Todd Huston of the notorious Breitbart.com also mocked O’Hara for going “overboard” but clearly stated O’Hara wasn’t trying to compare Brady’s retirement to a presidential assassination or a calamity like 9/11.

Yeah, Joe will remember his location when Brady retired — just like Joe remembers when Scotty Miller caught a bomb in the NFC Championship game, and like Joe remembers the day Ronald Reagan was shot, and where Joe was when Rondé Barber had his pick-six to beat the Eagles. Just like Joe remembers the day the pope was shot and the space shuttle blew up after liftoff and Ozzie Smith’s homer to beat the Dodgers in the 1985 NLCS. Joe is not comparing these incidents whatsoever, only that they are memorable moments in time that have been branded into Joe’s memory bank.

Does that make Joe some kind of Lucifer on earth? Please! O’Hara didn’t say we celebrate those days or that there should be a national day of mourning for Brady retiring; he said we will remember those days. He didn’t liken Brady’s retirement to a president getting offed, c’mon!

What the hell is wrong with that? Calm the eff down.

Can you stick to football please.

  2. Fire the Gannons! Says:

Love all your articles Joe! Please continue to ignore all of the “BA’s Red Pen Says” and “Sasquatch” posts trying to tell you how to run your blog. If they don’t want to read your posts, they simply shouldn’t click on them. Instead they like to gripe and bellyache every time they see an article that doesn’t suit them. What a bunch of wasted energy. I’m sure their wives find them a blast to be around.

  3. Joe Says:

    Love all your articles Joe!

Thank you. And thanks for your support!

  4. Delusional Intelligence Says:

Joe didn’t intend to offend, but offended with his intent?

I would prefer to be BA’s Crown Royal anyway.

  5. Gofortheface30 Says:

I agree. Holocaust, Pearl Harbor, Brady, 9/11, Kennedy. In that order. It should be in history books. I’ll never forget where I was when Brady retired a second time via Instagram….

  6. Hodad Says:

Don’t forget the Challenger disaster, and when Frankenstien, or is it stein? threw that little girl in the well. People are thin skinned, just tend to ignore it Joe, you’ll live longer.

  7. SufferingSince76 Says:

BA’s Red Pen’s got his granny panties in a wad this morning. 😆

  8. Jack Clark Says:

Brady had to apologize for comparing football to the military and Shaun O’Hara compared Brady retiring to many innocent people dying. So you think people who die to protect our freedoms in the military are part of the “easily offended crowd” too joe? Or are you just tasteless and insensitive?

  9. Ugotrobbed Says:

    Yep!

  10. Jack Clark Says:

Please don’t make up things about Joe. You can do that somewhere else. Thank you.–Joe

  11. TexasBucsFan Says:

Get over it. Brady is gone.. He got paid for doing his job..

  12. mg Says:

lol with my cup of joe.

  13. ModHairKen Says:

People who profess their offense at others comments are trying to look morally superior. If you give a f$&k about their hurt feelings, then you feed the Cancel Culture.

This is still the United States of America, based on the premise that the government cannot punish thoughts and ideas. We sure let keyboard clowns do it, though.

Stand up for your selves and tell people who are butt hurt about a meaningless comment to FO if you don’t like it. We need to stop conducting our lives based on other people’s need to be “woke” and “tolerant” because they are neither.

  14. Ultra ClodHopper Says:

    LOL

    Theres one at every party.

  15. Gofortheface30 Says:

See, I’m conservative and the overused term “work agenda” is breathtakingly dumb. Yet another example of not being allowed to have differing viewpoint without either side getting c^nty about it. Comparing a stupid athlete’s retirement, check that, second retirement, OVER INSTAGRAM, to god damn 9/11 as if that should be documented as a country shaping moment that will be taught in schools for decades to come – makes you open to some shi talking. It’s a microcosm of how over drammatic and how overly inflated the importance of the fave athletes you guys jak off too are. It’s hilariously stupid on such a profound level. I’m seeing just as much hypocrisy on the right as I do on the left. I bet a lot of you complain that you can’t goof on anybody anymore in comedy without people crying about it right? Well, O’Hara is gnna get goofed on for being a moron. Or is it only woke agenda when it doesn’t align with your sensibilities? Help me out here. I hate people.

  16. gp Says:

Good thing we don’t have any “morally superior” posters on this site!

  17. DBS Says:

TexasBucsBucsFan. Police, Firefighters and yes Military get paid for doing their jobs. So now what?

  18. DBS Says:

    TexasBucsFan.
    Hate auto correct.

  19. mark2001 Says:

I think it is simple, Joe. Many of these talking heads don’t really follow football, other than what they hear on the radio, the internet, or read in the paper. They have heard that Brady is a football god. So they react as they did. Kind of the way many people watch their favorite news network and suck up whatever story they see, without looking at anything further.

  20. Cobraboy Says:

Snowflake cupcakes and Mo-Rons are everywhere, even following the NFL.

Searching for offensive remarks must be exhausting.

  21. NEfan Says:

Ironic Joe how my comment is block though your comments are just as if not more suggestive than mine.

  22. SB Says:

George Orwell called the Thought Police.
Now we call them fact checkers.
    SMH

  23. Goatfarmer Says:

The easily offended can suck a large sausage.

  24. BucsFanSince97 Says:

How about this ? : Bring back Winston and Gabbert cheap on 1-year deals – trade Fournette and Evans for 2024 picks – let Julio, Gio, Mason, Rudolph, Hicks, Nelson, Miller, Perriman, Neal, Ryan, Nassib, Dean go – keep Lavonte,Edwards, SMB, Donovan Smith, and Brate – then let it rip !!

  25. Sparky Says:

It was just a stupid thing to say. Mostly because its simply not true. But also, using things like 9/11 or the Holocaust as the other half of an analogy for something like this trivializes something that shouldnt be. Its dumb, inconsiderate, AND lazy.

  26. BootyLover Says:

It sure seems this Joe takes every opportunity he can get to stroke the cultural wars on his football website. Instead of ignoring the idiocy of single idiot’s rant, he utilizes it to feed the piranhas posters on his website. It’s sad this is the resort for entertainment. It’s everywhere on the web, and unfortunately it shows up on my favorite website.

  27. Esteban85 Says:

With the world on the brink of WWIII & nuclear annihilation, a puppet president ran by a deep state whose son traffic’s under age children, which also runs rampant on the southern border, these soft as silly puffy gender jacking commies want to get their panties in a wad over this?! Cmon man. Must be an exhausting existence as a culture cultist.

  28. Esteban85 Says:

Thanks for dipping into the culture war, Joe.

  29. BootyLover Says:

You are gutless to censor my post, Joe. You know it

  30. RustyRhinos Says:

Who really cares? Brady made a fortune playing a kids’ game just like a lot of other sports stars do today. So what that he decided to retire (again) after 20 years of phenomenal play on his part. Yay, Brady! Oh, my Lord and Lady, he is retiring, will this bring on war across the world, or peace on earth and goodwill to all? He was the GOAT NFL QB. Nothing more nothing less. Let us keep it all in perspective. Besides Brady has so many personal NFL records he does not need any type of comparison to tragic events that cost people their lives. I’d bet he would be the first to tell you that.

See Ya around Brady. Good luck in your new NFL commentary job and the 350 Million that will bring to you and your family.

    Go!!!!!! Bucs!!!!!!

George Orwell called the Thought Police.
Now we call them fact checkers.

Yeah, no. Fact checkers are there to debunk lies from grifter politicians such as one former orange-faced demagogue who shall remain nameless. When there are no mechanisms to debunk the lies, that’s the world Orwell was warning us about.

Your just pissed because the fact checkers are usually debunking the lies and disinformation coming from your side.

  32. sasquatch Says:

    ^ *You’re

  33. sasquatch Says:

Speaking for myself and plenty of others, not everyone to the left of center is so easily offended. I blame it on the millennials and Gen-Z, or on their parents for coddling them and telling them they’re special little snowflakes.

Whether that’s a stupid or offensive remark is up for debate, but I’m not about policing everyone’s language… though pointing out stupidity does have a social function.

  34. TexasBuc 1976 Says:

We now live in the land of victims, virtue signalers, and those who are outraged by dandelions. Back in the day when I went to AA meetings an oft-quoted refrain was “opinions are like a$$holes, everybody has one”.

  35. BuckyPhillips Says:

Seems like Joe got a little emotional as well…

  36. mark2001 Says:

It really is all pretty silly. Let people get offended by what they wish. It is a free country. Frankly, I don’t see any geniuses on this site. In my years in a fortune 50 business and during my years of obtaining an advanced education, I’ve met none. And I doubt any of us have been accused of being one. In 50 to 100 years we will all be history, at best a footnote on a few pages of a ledger somewhere… a mostly forgotten memory. So why don’t we all not give each other some slack?

  37. mark2001 Says:

I mean… getting offended, because someone else is or isn’t offended, by what someone thought or said? Sounds almost an endless circle.

  38. Jimothy Says:

Holy Hell!!! Some of the ultra sensitive crowd are Bucs fans?

I am a retired Army vet and couldn’t care less about the military comparisons because I am aware enough to know they are not the same. Being offended is a choice! Get over it!

  39. Jerry Says:

That’s the era we now live in. There are people who actually make a living out finding ways to be offended.

That and parents these days have raised an entire generation of entitled cupcakes and snowflakes.

  40. mark2001 Says:

I remember a song saying “Love is a Battlefield” only a few years ago. I don’t remember outrage when it came out or was played. So ask yourself, what has changed so that almost everything and anything offends someone in that last handful of years?

  41. unbelievable Says:

Talk about a slow news day lol

  42. The Anomaly Says:

This has nothing to do with being offended or not

It is should you even say something like that to begin with?

No. I won’t remember when Brady retired like I do of every detail of the morning of 9/11…where I was…what I was doing…the shock…the sadnes…the anger

Some things should be off limits not because people get offended but because those extraordinary events are burnt into our memories.

Brady retirement doesn’t make a dent in the worst events in history.

  43. Ultra ClodHopper Says:

Hey at least the easily offended aren’t so crazy they’re going after Mr Rogers…. oh crud.

  44. Rod Munch Says:

What I’ll always remember was when Brady unretired. I was sitting in my theater room on a Sunday night, getting ready to watch Pootie Tang, and I saw my phone light up. I normally ignore it, but glanced down, and it said Brady was back. Well, there went my plans for watching the Louis CK written masterpiece, as all I could think about was football.

  45. sasquatch Says:

At least we’re not the people who make an issue of spokescandy that doesn’t wear gogo-boots anymore… unlike Tucker and his m0ron cult. #Losers

  46. The Anomaly Says:

I really can’t see Brady doing commercials for $100k watches one minute, then the next minute answering to a Dukes of Hazzard character.

    LOL!

“Hey Tom, if you follow my playbook, I’ll let you take the General Lee for a spin before them Duke boys get their mitts on it!”

    …………..

LOL you are WAY off my friend.
First off that was a lyric from a Tom McDonald song.
Second off, I don’t have “a side”. I haven’t voted since I retired from the Military because I have seen the “inside” first hand.
I am the FURTHEST thing you could possibly imagine from “easily offended”
    Thanks for the input though.

MacDonald started rapping at age 18, and first rose to fame after releasing the single “Dear Rappers” in February 2018.[1][3] His song “Straight White Male”, which was written about MacDonald’s belief that straight white men are being demonized,

Are you a poor white male being victimized again?

Who is the actual snowflake here…YOU

  51. The Anomaly Says:

    More about the radical rapper…

described MacDonald as “one of the most divisive personas hip hop has ever seen” and wrote that his right-wing fanbase “cling[s] onto every word he utter[s]”.

You can’t make this stuff up. Soon the boomers will age out and this country will lose a huge anchor.

I really couldn’t Possibly care less about what you think about me. What you think about an Overall Society matters more to me.
I grew up with DMC and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.

If you think an old man can’t think then it is you that have the problem. I have enough in the bank to last me at least another 20 years. Why don’t you just have enough faith in whatever side there is to hang your hat on them and be in my wonderful position one day.
