“This Is The Worst I’ve Ever Seen Tom Brady”

December 26th, 2022

The football product has gotten really ugly for the men in pewter, unless you like third-down defense and precision kicking.

For former Jets and Bills head coach Rex Ryan, the head coach who has faced Tom Brady more than any other, the extreme ugliness extends to Tom Brady.

In fact, Joe wouldn’t surprised if Ryan doesn’t even want to see Brady’s naked feet.

“This is the worst I’ve ever seen Tom Brady play, ever. And they won the game somehow,” Ryan said on ESPN TV today of the Bucs’ overtime win against lowly Arizona.

“And you gotta apologize to any of the fans that actually watched this game. This is the worst game I think I’ve ever seen. … Tom Brady was awful in this game. He couldn’t hit anything. Guys were wide open. … And then to see the lack of confidence he has in his offensive line, probably for good reason, but he’s throwing the ball so quick that it’s like, I know you know where the ball is supposed to go. But it was awful and he’s forcing things and he almost played like a quarterback that, No. 1, doesn’t want to get hit, has no faith in his offensive line and is not accurate.”

Ryan continued his anti-Bucs rant and concluded with, “If they make the playoffs, where are they going?”

Of course, Ryan is being a bit dramatic. He knows the Bucs’ defense is good and might morph into great if they can get healthier before the playoffs.

Still, Joe cannot answer Ryan’s question about the playoffs. The thought of the Bucs in the Super Bowl feels like pure fiction right now. That level of optimism is reserved for teams that played well in December. The Bucs did not.

Sigh….. nothing to comment about here.

  2. Winky Says:

The pass blocking stats for the Oline are very dressed up by getting the ball out extremely fast.

    It is what it is

    GO BUCS!!!

    Yes

Collinsworth and his partner kept saying how important it was that the Bucs win the game…… with Carolina and the Saints breathing down the Bucs necks for the division.

At one point I turned to my wife and said WTH are they going to do in the playoffs anyways….for all 3 teams? They all suck. First round knockout, so who really cares if they beat Arizona or not?

  6. deiter Says:

Ditto what these guys said. We suck man. And I cannot stress this enough, I STILL WANT BOWLZ GONE!!

I still feel Brady is playing with an injury. We will found out when the Bucs season ends. Anyway he doesn’t trust this line whatsoever. He has made some bad throws no doubt.

  11. TombsEN Says:

BL may not be the answer at OC but Brady is only getting older and we may be in the exact same spot next year even with a new OC. It’s funny how “fans” think they know more than the people inside the building but it is what it is.

  12. TombsEN Says:

Even if we get a new OC and Jensen comes back, we get a new LG, another tight end, and a big body speed receiver, you can never forecast injuries and we may still be in the same spot next year. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens after this season is over.

  13. Cchead Says:

    He’s not wrong.

  14. Eric Says:

we sold out the future to get Brady, who produced a glorious super bowl.

It was worth it, but its over now.

    Amazing how spoiled we got.

  15. Buc4evr Says:

Next year. : new QB. Draft or sign players that are younger and not so injury prone. New OTs. New DLs.

  16. Jonny Says:

Brady played like the worst QB in the NFL yesterday. Still he’s our only shot at winning any playoff games and I hope he can regain his confidence to season opener game levels come playoff time. He has the body language of a battered victim.

Not too late, BL needs to get his head out of his azz. We have start playing hurry up no huddle. It’s all about scoring points. There is no way the Bucs can score with two yard screens and 15 play possessions. This team was built for the vertical game. Need to go double tight end for blocking and let the ball fly.

  19. Winny Testaverde Says:

Ol’ Sexy Rexy…of foot fetish films and tough talk on Hard Knocks ( “now go grab a G’damn snack”!)

Kicking Brady when he’s down a bit…an obligatory hot take I suppose.

  20. bucs4life Says:

It’s the same thing that happened in 2015. Brady’s offensive line was totally mangled and he barely had time to throw or read progressions. Ever wondered why the heck we are a completely different team in late 4th quarters? It comes down to two things. One, defensive front sevens are gassed and Brady has more time to throw. Two, no huddle offense gives more freedom for Brady to call the shots and read defenses on his own, with little input from Leftwich, hence he thrives. Give Brady a strong Offensive line without holes and he is borderline unstoppable even with Belicheat scrub receivers. He is football’s most unstoppable force in history and we are squandering his time.

  21. TexasBuc 1976 Says:

He’s right, TB’s body language says it.

That said when throughout this season has the offense clicked? Hurry up, and in the first half of the Bengals game with pre-snap motion and shifts.

So I’m screaming at the start of the second half “go hurry up”. It is so obvious and yet Bowles and Left nut don’t do it, insane.

  22. JimmyfromNY Says:

It’s taking 45 years seven Super Bowls , 10 appearances numerous MVPs and records for the trolls to finally have there day. He’s not playing great. Not I’ll look at that look at the facts, this teams about to win the division with no team speed on either side of the ball, no running game the worst offensive line in football and complete donkeys coaching the team. Three of the wins were complete miracles that he’s come back from that most quarterbacks don’t have the balls to do. He will win the division next week and beat Dallas , book it

  23. Deeez NATZ Says:

So the offensive line is the reason Tommy over throwed a wide open Julio jones? Brady is a wash, start trask

  24. NEfan Says:

Johnny, Allen threw for 170 and 2 ints. Tua 200+ with three ints. Carr 146 with 1 int. There are plenty more that did worse and LOST. Brady went 32 for 48, 4 dropped balls 2 by Otton, 2 by Gage, a TD called back, 2 ints and still won the game. And YES your 45 year old QB is the only one that can pick up a yard on 4th & 1. I really think he has the flu or something, he didn’t sound good in the presser. We will never know because unlike the other wusses on this team, he plays injured.

  25. Redeemer Says:

We are starting to see Brady’s frustration bleed into his play. Instead of a football, it looks like he’s holding a ticking time bomb back there. They should be running the hurry up. It’s the one thing they’re pretty good at. The Cardinals were playing 6 men underneath at times. Why you don’t try at least a couple shots there is beyond me. I really hope they don’t make the playoffs. I don’t want to see them get waxed by dallas

  26. Redeemer Says:

    What’d I say?

  27. orlbucfan Says:

Any other QB blow that pass to Julio Jones, the trolls and non-fans on here would be pitching a fit. That was a sure TD and any half brain knows it. Brady is too old and it shows, body language and all. He’s also making a joke out of his legacy.

  28. Jonny Says:

bucs4life, I agree that Brady is physically still the same guy and can be the unstoppable force one more season at the very least. It is very important he has a strong finish to this season and gets full commitment from our front office to build a damn great O-line and better coaches.

    ———————————————————————–

This is such a trolling talking point, and it’s everywhere from trolls. Brady didn’t miss that throw to Julio. It was clear and obvious that Julio tripped while he was running his route and he stumbled in the end zone.

The throw was missed because Julio’s feet stumbled. It’s clear as day on replay.

Yeah, Brady didn’t ‘miss’ the throw there, he threw it to where he thought Julio was going to be. It’s another issue where not having a real OC is killing the team as Brady and the WRs continue not to be on the same page. Yes, Brady did miss on the last INT to Evans, but the other INT to Evans, that was another play where Evans and Brady were not on the same page and Brady was expecting Evans to pull up sooner (and no, it’s not on Evans either, as clearly he wasn’t expecting that quick of a pass).

Most everything on offense is coming down to terrible coaching. Why is Brady, every game, needing to go over and read the riot act to the offensive line – why isn’t the OC doing that, why isn’t the HC doing that? Why are WRs and the QB reading the defenses different? Why aren’t the Bucs making adjustments to missing 4 of their 5 starting offensive lineman (Wirfs was clearly playing very hurt last night). Why doesn’t the offense not start moving until they go to the 2 min offense when Brady is calling the plays at the line and making adjustments – and most importantly not having to take direction from that idiot Leftwich?

  33. Rod Munch Says:

“he’s throwing the ball so quick that it’s like, I know you know where the ball is supposed to go.”

Correct, Brady is getting the ball out very quickly because the line can’t block when you’re missing 4 of 5 starters (and I count Wirfs as missing considering how injured he clearly he is right now).

But there’s a simple answer to this — run an offense that takes advantage of that, run the 2 min offense the entire game (and yes, dummies, you CAN run the 2 min offense the entire game).

Instead that idiot Leftwich, with an offensive line that can’t block, is running it 4 times up the middle and turning the ball over on downs. Rather than take advantage of what your QB is doing well right now, Leftwich takes the ball out of his hands and is running draws on 3rd and 3 with a min left.

Leftwich is at the root of everything wrong with this offense, and he proves it literally every single week.

  34. Anonymous Says:

There is no future with Tom Brady and there is no star qb in free market. Start Kyle Trask.

  35. Randall Says:

Brady is like 3rd in the league in passing yards this year. He’d easily be #1 if he had a great O-line like he had last year.

Management did a terrible job this year with both the OL and DL. Not resigning SUH was retarded. And so was not going after TRETTER when Jensen went down. Having those two guys could have made a huge difference to the team.

  36. kyle Hoge Says:

sorry, but this version of the bucs will not beat the cowboys in the plaoff, if…. they even get in. Brady has checked out, he doesnt want to get hit.. i dont blame him.. hes done enough

  37. bucs4life Says:

orlbucs fan really wants to make everyone buy his anti-Brady agenda. Real Bucs fans know that providing great OL, rec corps and offensive coaching to Brady is our surefire path to greatness and SB runs.

  38. gotbbucs Says:

About 240 of his 280 yards were YAC yards. He can’t hit deep balls anymore, and intermediate balls are a toss-up. He goes directly to his 3rd or 4th read because a) he’s scared of the hit, b) he doesn’t trust his arm.

Anybody wanting Brady back next year is foolish or blind. He can no longer push the ball down the field. Brady was incredible, there will never be another one, but the ride is over.

  39. unbelievable Says:

    He’s not being dramatic.

Does anyone think the Bucs are going anywhere, if they even make the playoffs? Seriously?

It would take a meltdown of epic proportions by Dallas to lose to this Bucs team. The defense is above average but there’s not really any one thing this team does very well. They do however, do many things extremely poorly and sloppy.

  40. JimmyfromNY Says:

Gotbucs? How are those throws to Mike Evans vs Carolina or San Francisco 50 yard dimes right on the money. You don’t think the of line , no running game receivers not getting no separation has anything to do with it? At the same time he still lead the NFC in yards and 12th and downfield rows with absolutely no speed on ofence. U are a Brady troll been tormented by him or simply not watching the same football? Once he leaves you know what the Bucs are in for don’t you? Have you been watching Kansas City Buffalo Green Bay their quarterbacks miss throws every game and they turn the ball over a lot more than Brady does. And there situations around them are 100% better than his. Incredible takes from some of you.

  41. Ed McSherry Says:

All it takes is something like that one “mis-connect” end zone pass to Julio early-on In the game for the boo-birds to have something to point at.

Brady made a lot of great passes last night: a couple of sideline passes to Mike Evens and a whole slew of Godwin targets; a touchdown pass to Evans (called-back) and that really satisfying-to-watch touchdown pass to Raschaad (who’s looking more and more like a great clutch player like James White).

Then, Brady ran the table in overtime, with six passes to win It. How many quarterbacks would like to even have that ability?

All without an o-line, and play-calling of sloooow and cautious, when fast and explosive was needed with the three elite receivers (plus Rachaad) catching practically everything thrown at them.

Could Rex be missing something here, jathink?

Did Rex say anything about how he’d never seen Brady with so much receiver talent so underused? I was wondering if Mike Evans was even at the stadium in the first half. How many targets did Julio get?

Brady can work-around the bad o-line situation, but not the bad coaching/play-calling.

Brady proves it with every”hurry up” game-situation; where he can call his own plays.

  42. Tucker Says:

The oline is what it is at this point so either tom is going to have to get more mobile or this is what this team is going to be inconsistent or godforbid the oc is going to have to adjust to what personnel they have. Those crying about Suh the defense has been playing well enough for this team to be winning games so let that horse die you have beaten it up enough that isn’t the problem. I also think something is up with Tom injury wise either with his hand or shoulder or both but won’t find out until the season is over.

  43. BucU Says:

What we’ve had to endure the last 15 weeks has been bitterly dissapointing. We suck. It’s time to dismantle this team. Too old. Too slow. Too stupid.
If I was Bowles I wouldn’t be looking to buy a new house around Tampa in 2023.

  44. steele Says:

    To that I say:

Bucs fans. You are in the midst of one of the greatest periods of your history and you are being qb’d by the greatest human difference maker in your history. There is a chance you can win back to back divisions. The 1st time you have had a 2-1-1 opportunity in your history. Brady currently has identical stats as Justin Herbert. Identical!!!
We have a quality defense (that will break). Everyone knows what has to happen offensively for the team to do well.
You have won 5 playoff games in the last 2 yrs (most by any team). You have beaten: Brees, Rodgers and Mahomes. Your only loss was against the SB champs. Did you doubt that if Brady got the ball back they wouldnt have won after being down 27-3?
Whatever Brady does or doesnt do, this is a historic season if they win the division and finish over .500. In addition, if that happens anything is possible.
Tom Brady at 45 has 4,178 yds. The next closest 45 year old had 77 yards. Brady may flirt with 5000 yds. Brady This is historic! Brady may tie the record for most NFC playoff wins. The Bucs may get back to back divisions. Enjoy the ride!!!

It all starts up front. Jenson was the tone setter, gone. Stinnie, gone. Wirfs in & out of lineup. Backups hurt X2 and gone. Smith hurt all year. Gage, Jones Fournette, hurt in & out. Brady has been hurt as well. Defense guys hurt all year and Barrett gone. It’s been hard to watch and I’ve broken 3 remotes so I keep dummie remotes to throw. No consistency all season and looked like they turned it around in Germany, nope. I don’t see them going far this year and as much as I question some of the offensive, and I mean that litteraly, play calling I don’t know how they do it with out getting healthier and Brady’s magic
