The Old Man Still Has It

December 6th, 2022

Still has his magic.

What a comeback by the Bucs. What a comeback by Tom Brady.

How big of a comeback was it for old man Brady? His biggest in the regular season.

Joe was just tipped off by a member of the Bucs’ media relations team that Brady rallying from a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter was Brady’s largest regular-season fourth-quarter comeback in his storied career.

And yes, Brady is 45.

Bucs fans at the stadium were grumbling and booing in the second half. They were beyond restless. They went home giddy after watching history.

And now the Bucs head across the country to face the 49ers and Mr. Irrelevant. Joe likes the Bucs chances with Todd Bowles throwing his blitzing sink at a green rookie quarterback.

Yes he does……and he used rookies to help him…..that’s a very wise old man.

Let’s give huge credit to our defense giving us the ball back…..

Joe, have you got Biden brain and gone senile? Rookie QBs historically destroy the Bucs. I’m sure the overall record is fine, but any time the Bucs fans lick their lips at the chance to play a rookie, they have the best game of their career (for their entire career).

I’d have rather faced Jimmy G, and it’s unbelievable that he was so scared of facing Brady that he faked getting his foot broke so he could sit out the game, even if it cost him the rest of the season.

  3. Izod Says:

The middle game wasn’t much to speak of, but Brady did have a good beginning and absolutely perfect end game.

  4. Lefty Sux Says:

Commenter “Trask to the future” still couldn’t bring himself to say anything nice about TB12. It was all Rachaad White’s doing according to that chode, is almost definitely Kyle Trask’s mother or Brittany Mahomes-ish girlfriend.

  5. Frank Pillow Says:

We will be hugely outclassed and out-coached next weekend. Our DBs were abused by the Saints WRs all game long. The pass-rush was putrid. We were saved by a special, special play by Neal. SF’s D is legit. They’re O is innovative to the point that it’ll look like we’re running the Wing-T by comparison. I’m glad we won, but this team is DOA with Todd at the helm.

  6. Bird Says:

I was there. And still banned in the USA

  7. Jerry Says:

Just imagine how bad this team would be without Brady.

That’s what we have look forward to next year.

  8. BucsBro Says:

As bad as this season has been, and it’s been brutal, we have swept the Saints and the Rams.

    That’s big for us.

    Thanks GOAT.

Now let’s get ready for a playoff run.

  9. Lefty Sux Says:

Anyone else here “like eff it” when it comes to how it goes next week?

I mean we had no business winning that game and the season should have been over. Even if we lose to SF and Cinci, as we’ll be expected to do, they’ll still most likely be tied for first in the division with 3 to play.

Everything feels like bonus time now. Bonus Brady came back at all and bonus we’re even 6-6 and have a 1.5 game lead in the South given how atrocious this team has looked 90% of the entire season save Munich.

Maybe the team won’t play so tight now.

I still felt like i needed a shower after that “win!”

  11. Thunder Says:

It is so laughable how the legion of Brady haters in the world have tried to bury him for the last 10 years. They have sworn he was “done” game after game, year after yr. Rather than just admit they were WAY wrong they double down, then triple down. They don’t understand the man they are betting against. Brady is an assassin, a killer. He is the NFL unicorn that we will never see again . The disrespect he receives from a lot of fans truly says a lot about our culture today. You can even see it here on this site, with complete morons like Tbbucs denigrating the greatest NFL player of all time . TBbucks isn’t the only moron , there were plenty on tonight’s game thread. They never learn. Brady and MJ are the modern day Babe Ruths of their sport. I am thankful to have witnessed both of their amazing careers

  12. Tbbucs3 Says:

Brady still shows flashes of greatness but this is still a bottom 10 offense in the league…..the 49ers even with a rookie QB should be favored by at least -7 in this game

  13. Yucs2Bucsr Says:

It was nice that they stole a win, but Brady can’t throw deep balls because he’s obviously hurt. I hope he puts on a show in San Fran so they will sign him next year, but we are 6 and 6 in the worst division. I think Dallas would come here and if so that will be the last playoff game in Tampa for at least 6 to 7 years and will have this coaching staff for 3 to 4 because the Glazers won’t fire Bowel Movement and his bush league staff or face the backlash !!! No way Payton comes here because we are broke and won’t have a QB, but what happened to Brady and Evans friendship ? Tom must have scammed him with the Crypto and can’t remember a duo fall off as quick as that connection. I love Otton and White !!! I just can’t believe 3 minutes out of the entire game were actually watchable .. Night

  14. Rod Munch Says:

I’ll again ask this question… if the Bucs still had Arians as head coach, which of the following games do they still lose?

    Vs Green Bay? No.
    Vs Kansas City? Yes.
    Vs Pittsburgh? No.
    Vs Carolina? No.
    Vs Ravens? No.
    Vs Browns? No.

Seriously, go game by game, each loss, and explain to me how, if Arians was there, the Bucs still lose.

So do the math there… and the Bucs are 11-1 right now.

Also, you can argue about the Ravens game, but keep in mind the Bucs should have been up huge early, but Leftwich is a complete idiot – meanwhile the Bucs defense was completely shutting down the Ravens in the first half when they had to throw the ball. So lets give you that, and they’re 10-2. Fine, I’ll take it.

That’s the difference between good coaching, and the awful two-headed morons we have running this team right now.

But it’s also why, if the Bucs did make the playoffs, that no one is going to want to play this team, because at some point Brady is going to say f— these loser coaches and just ignore whatever moronic things they have to say and just go win the game.

    Thunder

Go in the archives and look how many times I’ve praised Brady in 2020 and 2021….the 2022 version of Brady is what has fallen off from his overall play….great way to bounce back tonight though after struggling all game

  16. Thunder Says:

TBbucks don’t try to walk back your Brady hatred. Wear your idiocy like a man

  17. Thunder Says:

TBbucks at least you are giving him some credit. As long as he is playing he should never be doubted

  18. Yucs2Bucsr Says:

@rodmunch I like your optimism, but Brady can’t throw the deep ball and teams
will shut that 10-15 yard crap !!! Please give me an example of when a QB and 1 A WR fell off like Evans and Brady after 12 games ? Like I said if they make the playoffs it will be the last one for at least 7 years and White, Otton and others will digress because they won’t have a QB and if Dallas comes to Tampa they are going to absolutely destroy this team. Hopefully Brady plays out of his mind next week for his new team, but 49ers and then Cincy comes here ( those will probably be 2 losses ) and then we are 6-8 with Carolina and Atlanta a couple of times .. Such a promising start that will end bad bad !!! Glad I got full price for my 4 stadium club tickets tonight and the Cincy game

  19. Tbbucs3 Says:

Your lying to yourself if you think Brady looks the same….like the greats do in their “washed” years they still show flashes of greatness….See Peyton Manning and Drew Brees in their final years.

  20. Bird Says:

    Tbbucs3

You are straight trash. You keep using “oh i like brady after you said washed and terrible move”

You call people fan boi of brady and even trask

You still have 3 in your name and his load still fresh in your breath
Man it must suck to be you

  21. Rod Munch Says:

Yucs2Bucsr – Go game by game, like above, and just tell me which games I listed the Bucs still lose if they don’t have such terrible coaching?

Also, of course the Bucs will be 6-8 in two weeks, that’s because, as I stated, we have idiots for coaches. What I listed wasn’t optimism, I’m pointing out how terrible the coaching is and how it’s tanked the team.

As for Brady’s arm – Drew Brees couldn’t throw as well as Brady can right now at the age of 30. Give it a rest with Brady doesn’t have an arm.

If you don’t think coaching matters, then we might as well have Lovie Smith or corpse of Ray Perkins on the sideline. In fact, the corpse of Ray Perkins, I guarantee, would have this team with more wins than the current losers in charge.

  22. Bird Says:

    Tbbucs3

You Look like the same w a guy in front and back

You think brady is the problem. Haha. When literally guys know up the middle. Every screen.

You have 3 in your title
    😂
    Noles are the worst

  23. Bucsfan13 Says:

We really need one these NFL insiders to dig deeper into how Brady and the team are covering up his injuries. He will never make excuses like Rodgers because he’s too proud of a man, but there is absolutely no doubt, that his finger and shoulder are still bothering him and affecting his throws. Remember, the NFL Network claimed it was just a minor rotator cuff injury that shouldn’t affect his accuracy. He was also showing up to the stadium until recently with his finger taped up. Rodgers thumb is injured and he came right out and said it.

In 2020 when Brady was struggling with deep passes, we thought he was washed. No, it was because he played the entire season with a torn MCL. It’s the same thing this year. Brady’s shoulder injury is more serious. The Joes need to go digging around and investigate this more.

  24. Yucs2Bucsr Says:

Oh sheet and the cards game will be an L, so 6-9 then face the panthers who beat us 21-3 and Falcons . So 8-9 ?? What a horrible year !!!

  25. Yucs2Bucsr Says:

@RodMunch i agree !!! I think the Ravens had set plays the first half and knew the would destroy them in the second half, but the coaches are horrible and we are stuck n with them for at least 3 more years. I forgot about the Cardinals game and that would put us at 6-9 with the last two games being must wins. Sadly teams and did the same with the Rams, and Seahawks where you think they turned the corner and then the next week perform like the did for 57 minutes tonight. I wish Brady wasn’t a Diva and guarantee he wishes he had Bruce, but please tell me when you’ve seen a dominant QB and WR connection dissipate after 12 games. He went to the Bahamas to fix his crypto scam image because they were separated for almost a year and divorced before the crypto blowup. I’m happy for the Super Bowl, but we gave it away last year and not sure what to call this year. Like my buddy who worked on my car many time Dwight Smith said and stood by it with so much confidence and conviction is that the NFL is fixed and the first Super Bowl win was as well. I will give you his number and I guarantee after talking to him you will believe it as well

  26. Yucs2Bucsr Says:

@BucsFan13 it’s super obvious, but also can we figure out how a duo of Brady and Evans set the NFL and records on fire and then 6-6 and they have no chemistry and don’t even communicate on and off the field. Look at the TDs and they don’t even congratulate each other? What happened because I can’t ever remember that happening to a Duo like that ? Please dig because not only is it super obvious, but disappointing

  27. NEfan Says:

I believe both Brady and Evan’s are hiding injuries. Those who say that Brady can’t throw deep confuse me. Last week all but one to Evan’s was a bad pass and the over throw to Godwin, this week he over threw Jones sure, but the one in the end zone to ME13 was perfect, Evan’s quit again and begged for the PI. No he is not what he’s been the last two seasons but neither is the offense. This is a neutered down conservative design, Brady’s not used to that. What I did see was the Scotty play, that is a go to route for Brady, he has always had small smart quick slot guys like Edleman, Welker & Amendola for those and they were all great at separation. Kinda wish Scotty was thicker & tougher.

All you haters and yes ttbsuc that includes you. Brady won that game TWICE last night. ONEILtoBrady, where are you? How much you wanna bet BA comes out of the wood work today?

  28. PewterStiffArm Says:

Be careful this Green rookie doesn’t shine. It could be a trap, a set up.

  29. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Bird

Sorry it offends younso much when someone calls out Bradys bad play for much of the season…the Superbowl winning former coach agrees with me….I’ll take his opinion over yours

  30. D-Rok Says:

Yes, Brady still has it. He did make 3-4 “bad” throws this game where I was actually questioning his arm.

I commented weeks ago that the shoulder and finger injuries must be lingering, and yes, it takes much longer to recover/heal the older one gets.

If something was unstable in his arm or finger, he wouldn’t be able to demonstrate velocity in any throw, yet he does, so it makes sense these are pain-management issues. We’ll see if he undergoes surgery after the season, but in my opinion, these injuries are most likely causing a few errant passes a game.

If those injuries are healed (I doubt it) then those few errant throws are signs of his subtle, slight decline. I’ll Brady anyday of the week, and twice on Sunday, even with a few bad throws a game. He still has “it.”
