The Bizarre Post-49ers Effect

December 16th, 2022

Todd Bowles will try to avoid a common affliction.

Gambling sharks are aware of a strange trend that could affect the Bucs on Sunday.

Tampa Bay’s last game was a beating at the hands of the 49ers. And it turns out every team that has played the 49ers this season has lost its next game, except for one club. That was the Chiefs coming off a bye week after facing San Francisco.

So simply stated, teams playing the 49ers this season are 1-11 in their next game. That can’t be a coincidence.

Perhaps it has something to do with how physical the 49ers’ defense is? And maybe it’s sometimes tied to west coast travel.

Regardless, the 49ers are taking a bite out of teams that seemingly needs time to heal. The Bucs can’t afford that time.

What did we do for all this to happen this yr lol. Man that Rams playoff hurt really stung

  3. alton d green Says:

The playoff loss to the Rams? I think that was a stupid decision by a defensive co-ordinater. Oh wait a minute, that DC is now our HC and we are 6-7. Good job Todd. Can you imagine the look on the Jets face if he applied for a job as the Jets HC???? screw me once shame on…. well, you know

  4. BucsfanFred Says:

Got any more good news for us, Joe?

  5. DG060 Says:

    6-8 by Sunday late afternoon.

  6. CrackWise Says:

Well, the silver lining is that the Bucs didn’t show up against the 9ers. So they could not have taken that bad of a beating.

Unless we are talking about a mental beating

  7. Jake Pom Says:

    Reeaaaach

  8. CrackWise Says:

The RECORD that Brady will hang his hat on.

The FIRST team with a LOSING RECORD to go on to WIN the Super Bowl.

Wonder what the Wise Guy money will pay for that to happen???

    The NFL is RIGGED!!!

  9. Alanbucsfan Says:

Gronk, Suh, Marpet and injured Jensen are eating up cap space and Bucs spent FA money on Gage instead of Whitehead and Suh.

  10. LakelandSteve Says:

Does anyone believe this will even be a game by halftime? The Bucs can barely compete with crappy teams. The good ones blow our doors off. I think everyone is waiting for something to click with the offense and bam we start scoring 30 points a game. Keep waiting.

  11. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

It WAS a stupid decision in the Rams game to call an all out Blitz that Left Cooper Kupp wide open, after we had fought our way back into the game.
Normally, that kind of stupid play call gets you fired, but not in Tampa!
We turned right around, and made Bowles our Head Coach.
Licht did not have to go along with this stupid decision, but he did!
Bowles talks all about accountability, yet instead of being fired and held accountable for his stupid decision that cost us the Rams Game, He got rewarded with a 5 year guaranteed contract that made him a Millionaire!
Arians, Licht, Bowles and Leftwich are all good friends, who have looked out for each other.
It is time for ALL of them to GTFO of Tampa!

  12. Elita Vita Says:

If Bucs can’t win the NFC south it will certainly be an Epic Fail.

  13. NEfan Says:

BA do you still believe you made the best choice for the Bucs when insisting Todd be HC and BL stay on as OC? Answer: AFFIRMATIVE!!!

  14. BucDaWorld Says:

I sat here all off season listening to these players and the coaching staff talk about how the sting of that Rams game left a bad taste. How they couldn’t wait for the season to start because they were more motivated than ever. What a bunch of BS that was. Now we sit here with a losing record wondering if this team is even capable of winning another game this season. The 49ers trend doesn’t even matter when it pertains to us, we are more than likely going to lose this game anyway do to the trend that this coaching staff is so predictable we have already lost before we step on the field.

  15. Mickman Says:

    What a ridiculous statistic…give me a break.gotta
Dig a little deeper on that one like, how many of the teams
    Are over 500 this year?

  16. Mickman Says:

So here you go, bears,Seahawks, broncos, rams,Panthers, falcons, rams….tough teams.. stop with the dumb stats

  17. #99 the Big fella Says:

I feel beat up after joe gives us bad news all week after a game .. I need more time to recover..lol

  18. NEfan Says:

    Mickman, BUCs

  19. HC Grover Says:

That 3 hour time lag really does mess u up. Bowzo blundered by going a day early too. Double Blunder.

  20. ModHairKen Says:

How many votes will Bowles get for Coach of the Year?

  21. Erik The Viking Says:

Blah blah blah. Joe is just carrying the water for Bowels. Look at Seattle last night. They stayed in the game at least vs the 49ers. Thanks to good coaching. All we have is a mindless buffoon that got his job based on outside factors. Go Woke, go broke.

  22. BucsfanFred Says:

    Bowlezo needs to go.

  23. Bojim Says:

Not expecting an upset but it would be a well needed game. Oh, the 49’ers won again.

  24. Redeemer Says:

If they get pounded again, which is likely, seasons over. Where’s their pride? Underachievement doesn’t even come close to the collosal failure that has been this year.

  25. sasquatch Says:

I don’t expect the Turdaneers to break the trend. This one could be uglier than the SF game.

  26. mg Says:

Have to agree with alton d green, last years defensive coordinator blowing the Championship game becoming head coach is poor ownership.

  27. Darin Says:

Bucs dont play good the next week after playing anyone! Or after a bye! That’s a trend too. Take the Bengals all day

  28. Coburn Says:

Feels like we are caught between hoping they limo into playoffs and kind find some mojo.. and on other hand we are borderline playing for draft position. Sad place to be caught…

  29. Jeffs Dad Says:

We’ll keep it close but in end to much talent on field for bengals

  30. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The only reason I’m still watching is because of Tom Brady and this being his final season.

And, if I’m honest, that’s barely enough.

  31. steele Says:

Yes, Chris@Applewood Cleaning, many of us have been screaming that for months. That travesty loss vs. the Rams was it, the moment that would define this team—tragically—for the future that we are now experiencing. The bad playcalling, the wrong attitude, the weirdness. He should never have been made HC,and that speaks volumes about Arians and his bad coaching tree. This is a team that needs a dramatic fresh start, which will involve house cleaning of the coaches, and many of the players who are mentally in Bowles Mode.

As for the “49ers effect”, they are possibly the most physical team at the moment, and do deliver beat downs with lasting impact, physical and mental.
But that is no excuse. A good team rises to that challenge and sends back twice as much. Only this team is not a good one.

I never count out Brady, who has always gotten very pissed off after losses, but he can’t do it alone. If the Bucs are going into this game with even more injuries on D, Burrow and Chase are going to have it easy.

  32. Sandman Says:

“That cant be a coincidence”… Famous last words

  33. Barbosa Says:

Actually Joes the Bucs can afford it. They can lose 82-0 to the bengals (and the cardinals). As long as they win against Atlanta and Carolina, they will get to play the cowgirls in Tampa. Who wouldn’t want Brady in the playoffs against the cowgirls?

  34. NEfan Says:

Barbosa, you realize how painful that would be to watch?

  35. bucsfaninOregon Says:

You guys are ragging on BL and Bowles. Well justified! My favorite bad guy is our much praised GM. Other than signing a OL who immediately got hurt. What else? 49rs were able to get Macaffery Now we have swiss cheese for a OL and the DL is a joke.
We have wasted the last year of the best QB we will have for 30 years.

Good work. Wait till you see Brady lead a new team to the playoffs. I would lose all respect for him if he were to sign up here again.
