Swiss Army Knife Defender Has Bucs Attention

December 25th, 2022

Talks Cardinals’ defense.

If the Bucs are going to break out of their scoring funk, tonight is the night.

The Cardinals’ defense gives up points. Only the Detroit Lions allow more per game (27.7) than the Cardinals (27.6).

Still, Arizona has playmakers on defense. The first is the Swiss army knife defender Isaiah Simmons.

Normally a linebacker, Simmons can play all over the field. And Bucs left guard Nick Leverett knows it.

“Simmons is very talented,” Leverett said. “He’s like a hybrid guy. He can play multiple positions.”

The second guy is future Hall of Fame defensive lineman J.J. Watt. He may be old, but he’s savvy and is coming off a three-sack game.

“J.J. Watt, he’s been doing this for a long time,” Leverett said.

‘Nuff said.

And a third man? That would be All-Pro safety Budda Baker.

“They have a talented defense,” Leverett said. “Their defense can get up the field [on a quarterback].

“This will be an exciting challenge.”

Bucs fans don’t want a challenge. They want a win. Against a sieve defense like Arizona’s and the Bucs having solid talent across the skill positions, the Bucs need points.

If the Bucs lose against a sad opponent like Arizona. which looks ready to move on from both its general manager and head coach, it’s time to take a serious look and wonder if Bucs coach Todd Bowles can ever lead the Bucs to a winning record.

wish the Bucs were about to move on from our entire coaching staff and many of our players

Sieve of a defense or not- they have pro bowl caliber players at each level.

Meanwhile the Bucs are once again ravaged by injuries on the defensive side of the ball.

Sorry guys… but whomever just handed Bowles the keys to the Corvette of a team, without saying… “Wait a minute”… needs to go. Instead of the Corvette we expected, this team looks like a broken down old Pinto. At least when the Gruden Corvette failed, We lost Mike and JJ in one play, the team was old and the Defensive leader, Monte, had bailed on him. No excuse for Todd.

Everything has to have this teams attention, if they are going to avoid embarrassment at many times the rest of the season.

    Unbelievable. Dee Delaney.

Or maybe Deer in the headlights Delaney.
