“It’s Unbelievable How Bad We Play Sometimes”

December 7th, 2022

“What are we watching, Mean Gene?”

Always candid Warren Sapp pulled no punches on The Rich Eisen Show yesterday.

Among other things, legendary No. 99 thinks the Bucs will take out the Cowboys with ease if/when they meet in the playoffs.

That would be the matchup in Tampa if the regular season ended today.

Sapp, like a lot of Bucs fans, left Monday night’s thrilling comeback win early and enjoyed the exhilarating win on his ride home. Sapp bolted, he said, because he had seen enough from his comfortable seat at The Licht House with the Bucs trailing 16-3 in the fourth quarter.

“It’s like they wake up at the end of the game. It’s unbelievable how bad we play sometimes,” Sapp said.

Is the problem with the Bucs offense the absence of Bucco Bruce Arians? Eisen asked Sapp. Absolutely not, replied No. 99.

He said big differences are Brady is not the same player this season and neither is Leonard Fournette.

And Sapp said Brady knows Fournette is dogging it. He cited Brady’s reaction to Fournette failing to get the edge — and a touchdown — on third down during the Bucs’ opening drive Monday. ‘Like oh my God. Jump in the air, Leonard. The guy’s diving at your feet. Pick’em up!’

But make no mistake, Sapp said Brady is a living legend and should be lethal in next month’s playoffs. Sapp still blames the Bucs/Todd Bowles blitz to end the Rams game in the playoffs last season. And Sapp admitted that he wouldn’t want to face Brady in this postseason if he were still playing.

A Bucs-Cowboys wild card weekend matchup? Sapp says take the Bucs all day.

“Dallas can’t stop the run. We get [Tristan] Wirfs back. We find a way to chip [Micah] Parsons. And we’re fine,” Sapp said.

What a d!ck. If fans left when he played he would be dogging them out. Not sure who I can’t stand more Sapp or horse slugger Beckles.

  2. Tbbucs3 Says:

Uh oh…Sapp, like Bruce Arians, has called out Bradys inconsistent play…incoming angry Patriots fans….

  3. gotbbucs Says:

I didn’t understand at all why White got taken out and replaced with Fournette on that opening drive. What was the point?
The ceiling is so low with Fournette. You just know nothing special is going to happen with the ball in his hands. This team is in desperate need of players that can make something happen and break off junk yards, and Fournette is not that player.

  4. unbelievable Says:

Fournette had a pretty good night overall, but I 100% agree about his play on that particular drive. At times this year he seems like his feet are stuck in the mud, and he isn’t battling through contact the same way. But he was still clutch on those final drives too (as was R. White).

Not sure I can agree with Sapp about the Cowboys though. They look like a much better team now than they were in week 1 when we (barely) beat them. Can anyone honestly say the Bucs look better now than they did back then? I don’t think so.

  5. Darin Says:

It was unbelievable, not anymore. It’s unbelievable to me now when the Bucs play well. So Brady and Fournette not playing as well has nothing to do with the HC sapp? I’ll raise ya on that one

  6. captivajim Says:

Dallas is a much different team than they were wk 1

  7. BigMacAttack Says:

Anything can happen on any given day. Most shocking Bucs’ win in a long while

  8. Redeemer Says:

Lenny has definitely lost some explosiveness. He had a ton of touches last year, and is nearing old age for a running back. I would’ve let him walk and allocated those recourses elsewhere. I don’t necessarily believe he keeps himself in the best shape either. The line hasn’t helped, but you can see White’s burst is much better in the hole. He’s also turning himself into a very good route runner. That winning TD was a thing of beauty. White made it look easy

  9. SPARKY Says:

Tourette had a good game. I liked how they use Lenny and White Monday night. But there was a reason Brady wanted White in there on that last play. Quicker and Brady wanted to make sure he wss going to get 100% effort from his back.

  10. Tucker Says:

I wouldn’t say Fournette had a pretty good night I guess it was ok but he has zero acceleration he takes so long to get going.

  11. KnoxvilleBuc Says:

The success and lack of success Lenny has all lies on his motivation. I do not agree with taking White out on the opening series with that play call. The defender made a hell of play on him. Yes, Lenny has to pick his feet up and that is on him and the team knows that. He made plays later in the game and will be there for us in the playoffs. He is super talented but he is a little heavy and not as elusive as White but what he did in the super bowl run was special and he can certainly do it again.

  12. Bird Says:

    Tbbucs3

And sapp said if bucs let jameis walk out the door , we would be set back as an organization 30 years 😂

I meAn we won a super bowl in year 1 with the guy that makes you so sad
I mean brady didnt go to fsu, so he bad

Does anyone like you in real life? 😂

  13. Cliff Says:

I do NOT agree – this years team is just as good as the last two years – the missing link is Bruce A as H C ! ! Can’t believe head office has not figured this out & trashed the now head coach & offensive coordinator… week 4 this should have happened ! Throwing away Brady’s prob final year.

  14. ben Says:

Bucs never had a tougher guy on the field then Mr. Sapp. He was the best and a beast !

  15. Oneilbuc Says:

Bird . You right we won in the first year but now look how this offense look without AB and Gronk. Maybe they played more of roll us wining than Brady. Now I give Brady credit for bringing them in but I knew once they leave and Brady decided to play without them the offense was not going to be as good but now this offense is horrible without AB and Gronk.

  16. Joshua porter Says:

The big run lenny had on the last drive probably would have been a td with white running the ball

  17. ClwJB Says:

Lenny looks overweight still…and a half step slower than last year and is going down on contact much sooner than usual as well

    Maybe the injury prevented conditioning…..

  18. NEfan Says:

Another defensive dummy giving his opinion. Ask him this, how easy would his job be if he knew what play was coming. One breath it’s Brady & Lenny and his next breath I wouldn’t want to face him. Like all of us on this site like aholes we all have an opinion. I guess once Peyton goes back to NO and Brady goes with him, the Bucs D will get to see him twice next season if

  19. NEfan Says:

Oneiltobradyyall comes out of the wood work when it’s Brady bashing time. You’re as predictable as BL’s play calling.

  20. Oneilbuc Says:

NEfan. Lol 😂😂 you call it bashing when someone tells the truth about how Brady been playing. You think no one can hold Brady accountable for nothing regardless how bad he plays. To you Brady is exempt from criticism that’s why you and the rest of the Brady worshipers will never hold him accountable instead you look for scapegoats. That’s why I can’t wait until he’s out of here !!

  21. NEfan Says:

Oneiltobradyyall, where were you earlier this week when he saves this teams arse against the Saints?
    You be a hata

  22. Oneilbuc Says:

NE . The saints done the same thing the Rams did and that’s play prevent defense. That’s not going to happen in the playoffs or against better teams . He had 2 good drives in the whole game . That’s not a superbowl type of offense you can’t suck for 55 minutes every game and think you are going to win against good teams or in the playoffs.

  23. Oneilbuc Says:

And to be honest I think my bucs will win Sunday this defense has been playing good all year giving up less than 20 points a game.

  24. NEfan Says:

Oneiltobrady, don’t fool yourself, scoring in general has been low all season. The highest scoring O is KC with 29.2/game Bucs gave up 41 to them. Bill’s are 28+ and.it drops Cleveland is 22.4 at 10. Except Dallas the Bucs D have given up the average or above average points to opponents. Those are facts your rebuttals are opinions and come from hate for the white man.

  25. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

I’d take chidi ahanatu over warren everytime. Man those 2 hated each other. They fought a lot. I’m told it was hysterical watching because neither had a clue how throw down…. Epic stuff.

  26. Oneilbuc Says:

NEfan you are the only white man I hate because your coward.

  27. JimmyfromNY Says:

So predictable you Bray Trolls. I love that how much he has won has caused you so much stress it’s glorious to think that you go to bed most Sunday night with an upset stomach the past 20 years The last three minutes the other night must’ve kept you up the entire night. Lol. The bucs are a laughing stock before him. He brought you some recognition!! When he’s gone, no one’s gonna care what you say or what you post. You’ll be back at the bar arguing about your high school football days.

  28. NEfan Says:

Oneiltobradyyall, what makes you think I’m white because I respect the greatest QB to play the game? The coward is the hater and I’m sure it stems from your own insecurities.

  29. Oneilbuc Says:

JimmyfromNY. You know nothing about football you from a state where most of the kids their don’t even get recruited . Your city is a basketball state go talk about basketball because I know you know nothing about football. And guess what we won a superbowl without Brady before. And from the looks of things maybe it was more AB and Gronk than Brady on offense in 2020 🤔🤔🤔 ? But as long you fake Patriots fans are gone is all that matters to me.

  30. JimmyfromNY Says:

You’re such a troll. I HATE the Pats. I’m not from Boston, I’m from New York, and I’ve lived in Florida for 30 years. Again you’re delicious tears beautiful. The other night must’ve been glorious. U must’ve been up the entire night with a migraine The next 15 years once the goat leaves should be some tantalizing football for you to watch, many 5 win seasons lottery parties, no national TV games. There’s no bigger fool on this message board than you. Your lack of knowledge of football is staggering. I can go into more details, but it’s not worth it you wouldn’t get it.

  31. JimmyfromNY Says:

One cluelessl take you after another. Congratulations on being the biggest donkey on this board. I don’t care who gets recruited that has nothing to do with any of this. I’d love to Tom Brady has trolled you for the last two decades.

  32. NEfan Says:

Jimmy can you tell this moron Oneiltobradyyall how many SB’s NY teams have won? Please also inform him Brady won 4 SB’s without Gronk! Oneiltobradyyall sees through very dark sunglasses.

  33. Brandon Says:

Fournette isn’t dogging it, he just has no balance and is easy to tackle. He plays hard, he’s just very overrated as a runner.

  34. Erik Hesson | Fine Artist | Founder of UniqueModernArt.com Says:

Without BA, we are like chickens running around with our heads cut off out there.

  35. Eric b Says:

Stop McCaffrey, throw the ball , SF is weaker in pass defense lfgo

  36. Vadertime Says:

So far this season, Brady has orchestrated 2 comebacks late in the 4th quarter. I am not sure this is sustainable going into the playoffs. The Bucs need to start scoring early and more so they don’t have to resort to Brady’s comeback magic late in the final minutes of the game. Also, fire Bowles, hire Sean Payton and bring Baker Mayfield down here. That would make for a fun future. Go Bucs.

  37. Oneilbuc Says:

I was waiting for someone to bring up Baker Mayfield I knew somebody would 😂😂!!
