Good News On The Injury Front

December 18th, 2022

Bucs GM Jason Licht

Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht left Bucco Bruce Arians alone through much of today’s game. Licht was on the sidelines early while Arians stayed in a booth upstairs at The Licht House.

Before that, Licht was on the Buccaneers Radio Network acknowledging that things broke the Bucs’ way in the NFC South today and “now we just have to take care of business on the football field.”

Well, the Bucs did not do that, crumbling in historic fashion after leading the Bengals 17-0.

Licht also had great news. He acknowledged that Jamel Dean, Julio Jones, Carl Nassib, Vita Vea, Tristan Wirfs and Genard Avery would miss the game injured but it could be only a one-week issue for all of them.

Licht said he expects “most of them come back next week.”

That’s good news for a Bucs team slowly getting healthier. Russell Gage is picking up his game steadily, and he now leads the Bucs with four touchdown receptions. Yeah, that’s a sad total, but it’s something.

Joe Tryon-Shoyinka was questionable with a hip issue for this game but played and had some quality moments.

So maybe, just maybe, the Bucs are getting healthy at just the right time. And no, Joe doesn’t consider Tom Brady’s aging to be a health issue.

Lastly, Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen was on the pregame field in street clothes snapping balls to Tom Brady. He hasn’t played all season (knee) but remains eligible to return.

Another gm would have fired this staff weeks ago.

You better start considering it a mental senile issue.

Happy with the one Superbowl, move along.

Hey orl, are you happy to be finally right for once, at the expense of the team? Talk about fake fan.

  6. Pewter Power Says:

Mr playing it safe is talking about the guys returning but it’s not like the Bucs were playing well when they were on the field. Should have did something at the trading deadline, don’t tell me you didn’t see this record coming

Thankfully JBF HQ has drums chock full of turd polish. Having launched in 2008…that makes a lot of sense. I keep waiting for the Bucs to wake up…but it’s just not happening. Giselle The Wiccan has put a curse on TB…aging him more quickly than a sitting President. And Bowles is who you hire when you want to secure a top three draft pick.

Hey redeemer, you wouldn’t know a fake Bucs fan if it kicked you upside the head.

  9. Bucmanfan Says:

Woah, Jensen was in pregame snapping balls??? How did he look? Was he doing any blocking simulations?

  10. NEfan Says:

Oral, yup a true fan trashes their QB every chance he or she gets. I guess 78 points let up in two games means the entire D is senile and old.

Did someone say JTS had some quality moments. Are u serious? This guy is not nfl material.

Brady’s aging is not a health issue —But it is performance issue ….he’s no longer playing at a High level.! both interceptions looked like they were thrown by a rookie ..

Brady should voluntarily step aside and let Trask play the Cards next wk .. The Bucs need to find out if Trask is in our future

  13. Julio Restin Says:

Very disappointed with the outcome.Saw a lot of improvement today. In the first half they looked like the superbowl team.I know they collapsed today but I really think they are close to breaking out.Have a feeling they will put up 30+ against the cardinals on Christmas. With Wirfs and Jenson coming back they could go on a run.Not saying they will but it’s very possible.I’ll never count Brady out.if they get in the tournament they will be dangerous.

  14. Rudy Says:

Oh, I thought this article on injury good news was gonna inform us all that Todd Bowles and Byron Leftwich both suffered a mysterious muscle cramp at the same time and they would both be out indefinitely for the remainder of the season. That would have been just FAN-tastic, and maybe we could all witness what has been painfully obvious all year: when someone other than these two fake punt calling goofballs are in charge of calling plays and giving the team directions, we’re looking like the caliber of team that matches the depth of talent on the roster. Just sayin’, and I’ll repeat this message frequently because it’s a fact.

Time for Tom to GOOOOOOOOOOOO he’s done but this the Tampa fan base for you so terrified of becoming losers again….. O wait were losers even with TOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  16. BucsfanFred Says:

@Rudy, I wish I could put you down for what you said about the coaching staff, but I feel the same way, myself.

  17. Christina Says:

I still believe if we get healthy and get Jensen back things can really start looking up for us, I’m just worried about the play calling I mean Who fakes a punt in that position?!? Your defense was playing awesome 😩 i’m so disgusted by it. Gisele Bündchen needs to take the curse off of Tom asap

  18. DG060 Says:

I hope they lose out the rest of the way.
