Missing person alert.

There is a difference of opinion at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters, and it’s not over what to buy, a case of Bromosa or Palm Bender while at Big Storm Brewing.

One Joe has had it with Bucs coach Todd Bowles and wants him fired if the Bucs finish 8-9. The other Joe wants failing offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich out on the first available U-Haul but understands it’s getting more and more difficult to justify bringing Bowles back for another season.

The Joe sort of sympathizing with Bowles understands he never had a chance to hire his own assistants. If you are not going to give a guy a chance to work with his hand-picked guys, then why even hire him?

But the following are a few questions Team Glazer and/or Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht need answered from Bowles before any decision is made:

1. Bowles is a defensive guy. Why is it that Devin White continues to regress from the Super Bowl season? At best, White is inconsistent since he played as a man-possessed in the 2020 postseason.

2) Why is Joe Tryon-Shoyinka regressing? Sure, he had an OK game tonight with a half-sack and two quarterback hits. That’s the least to expect from a starting first-round draft pick.

3) Where has the team hidden Logan Hall? The top pick this year has been AWOL for the most part since he recorded two tackles against the Rams in late October. Your top pick in the draft, a defensive lineman, is in the witness protection program while the rest of the team is in a stretch run for a playoff push. That’s not what Joe would call “development.”

To Joe, those sins may be worse than an offensive offense. Three key, high draft picks on Bowles’ side of the ball are not progressing but regressing, including the No. 5 overall pick in the 2019 draft. That should not be.

Unless Bowles can explain in detail why those three are going backward while playing for a defensive coach like Bowles, the regression of young defenders is enough for Bowles to worry about his future with the Bucs.

There’s a whole lot of Team Glazer loot invested in those three. Most business owners don’t like to see expensive investments vanish before their eyes.

    Joe is right

  2. Brian Says:

Why does the GM get a pass here? Oh and what about Trask yeah we are all in to win

  3. Joe Says:

Why does the GM get a pass here?

You are assuming Licht hired Todd Bowles?

  4. orlbucfan Says:

JTS had a good game today. Shame his defense had to play with a demented skeleton QB who collapsed in the second half.

  5. Bucs fan from Philly Says:

Let’s be honest JTS is just fast. He has no moves and teams use his speed against him aka screen pass. LHall, well if backups get more reps then that means it ain’t there. Two wastes of picks. Don’t give me development. We have injuries in both positions and these two can’t dominate.

  6. ElioT Says:

    JTS is a P****!

    Logan Hall is a P****!

    Same haircut.

    Social media generation clowns.

  7. Mike Johnson Says:

You put a Defense on the field and make them stay out there for as long as we were against the Bengals,They run out of gas. They fought hard. But our God Brady had 4 or 5 key turnovers. which were turning points in the game.

  8. AmauryGuzman Says:

Watching the giants right now. I mean the giants have no freaking wideouts but they still play 110 percent every snap and are well coached. What an embarrassment the bucs and a prime example as to why coaching matters in this league.

  9. Destinjohnny Says:

IF YOU DONT DRAFT GOOD PLAYERS YOU DONT/CANT WIN

  10. AmauryGuzman Says:

Not only coaching but holding players accountable. These guys are lazy and take the personality of this coaching staff. They’re all comatose.

  11. AmauryGuzman Says:

Destinjohnny doesn’t matter. This Bucs team has underachieved all season and you can’t me otherwise. They should be over 500.

  12. ElioT Says:

JTS & LH are hot garbage.

    Worthless.

  13. LakelandSteve Says:

    Clean House!

  14. Cchead Says:

    JTS is NFG

  15. Redeemer Says:

Sounds like a power structure problem to me. Was Licht forced to take BAs sloppys?

  16. Lakeland Says:

Outside of Micah Parsons. The 2021 NFL draft was one of the weakest ever for pass rushers. JTS was a huge reach, a project at best. They should have went BPA (Best player available).

  17. Coburn Says:

I want lefty and bowles both gone. Take Armstrong. Clean out coaching. Let licht pick one… It somehow brayd is sticking around let him be in on the decision

  18. Your Mom Says:

    Can ’em both

  19. EA Says:

How often have you seen todd Bowles going up and down the sidelines trying to fire up his guys when things aren’t going well this season?????
He just sits there with his arms crossed looking lost, dude go cheer up these guys, say something to motivate them during the game, I bet it would make a difference.

  20. steele Says:

They were not good draft picks to begin with, Joe. JTS: nothing but speed, technically lacking and lacking in strength.

There has been no instant impact from Bucs drafts, and poor free agency.

  21. Winny Testaverde Says:

The boy band “tweeners” including JTS and Logan Hall Pass were wasted picks. Tried to get cute…like these hair bears are.

  22. Miller5252 Says:

With Arians gone, do the Bucs run 2 practices anymore? It seemed like when they had 2 practices going, with the leagues biggest staff, they were developing young players a lot better.

  23. T REX Says:

Licht should never survive more than 2 coaches…NO GM SHOULD

Licht is not a good GM

  24. Bucamania Says:

Bunch of bad bad draft picks by Licht since the SuperBowl and it’s catching up. The core players are older and the young guys aren’t good.

  25. firethecannons Says:

Jason Licht is always bargain hunting He must live in goodwill but anyway he trades down and gets garbage

Both Joes are right Leftwich on a midnight train to anywhere NOW dont wait for midnight. Bowles is garbage uninspiring stoic and sarcastic–no thanks and he cant manage clock and cant make up a better lie than “afraid Tom would throw a pick” Bowles does not deserve to a head coach–he is garbage before at the jets and now–he needs to be replaced asap

  26. Alex Gama Says:

brate is one less player. it should be TE N1 post gronk, it should call responsibility…

  27. Kgh4life Says:

I think Joe is a little too critical of Hall. He’s a first year d-lineman in a league where it typically takes a year or two for d-linemen to get accustomed to the game. Sapp only had a couple sacks his first year if I’m not mistaken. Hall needs more time.

  28. WillieG Says:

Jon Gruden didn’t get to hire his own defensive staff. Tony Dungy didn’t get to hire his own offensive staff in Indianapolis. Bowles inherited a Super Bowl winning coaching staff and a team LOADED with talent. He should have a much better record.

If he is given the opportunity to hire his own people, you can bet your arse he will hire the same old school types who embrace outdated ideas and philosophies: run, run, pass, punt. Take no chances. Win with defense. Get a 3 point lead and everything is peachy keen. No risk it don’t want no stinkin biscuit. No thanks.

  29. Buczilla Says:

Bowles and Leftwich should have been fired after the carolina loss. That loss was unforgivable. Maybe, just maybe, that would have woken the team up. I seriously doubt that we’d be in worse shape with Goodwin as the head coach and maybe he could have sparked something. We’ll never know since either the front office or ownership (both?) are either too scared to make tough decisions during the season, or aren’t bright enough to realize that our ship was taking on too much water.

  30. Joe Says:

I think Joe is a little too critical of Hall. He’s a first year d-lineman in a league where it typically takes a year or two for d-linemen to get accustomed to the game.

That’s fair. Still, it is uncomfortable to see a high draft pick get less snaps and be less productive as the season enters do-or-die time. You would hope to see progress, not regress.

  31. captivajim Says:

logan hall ended Jensen’s career in a NO contact practice drill ..and what has he contributed since ?? squat !!!!!!

  32. Former Mrs Brady Says:

Blinded By The Licht. Revved up like a boss. No Brady in sight.

  33. Allbuccedup Says:

Fire Bowles and Lefty hire DeMeco Ryans and give Brian Johnson qb coach for the Eagles offensive coordinator hes worked with Trask, Prescott and now Hurts.

  34. Ed Says:

The only way this team can move into the future is with younger coaches that the players want to play hard for. Watched a lot of football all weekend and by far the Bucs were less impressive than both the Jets and the Lions as well as the Bears.

Athletic quarterbacks are now the only way to win in the league. The arrows are all pointing down on the Bucs coaches number one and on a handful of veteran players that since they signed their second contracts are dead weight holding the team back.

Jason LIcht has to be held accountable for not signing players to replace Marpet and Jensen. He has spent high draft picks on JTS and Hall. Hall has made zero impact as a rookie and JTS needs to be a backup, he isn’t starting calibre edge rusher.

Signing Russell Gage was a gamble. His injuries get him a pass but even now he looks like a complimentary receiver, not a #2.

Last, the Bucs have a very slow offense.

If Licht remains GM they need speed, speed, speed on offense and strength, strength, strength in the trenches. Team is too slow and weak to be competitive in the NFL.

  35. 97 bucBaby Says:

Haven’t drafted a defensive lineman worth anything since sap and booger

  36. Power of Pewter Says:

Need to clean house, from Licht on down. Shed some player salaries, build up 2023 draft picks for the new GM.

  37. ChrisBuc23 Says:

If he was picked that high and isn’t making much of an impact then he has been a crappy pick so far for sure waste of a 2nd rounder

  38. Capt.Tim Says:

Road runner and the invisible man.
Bucs expected them to replace JPP and Suh.
    Lmao.
No mystery to why we suck this year.
Also Hainsey and Geodeke to replace
    Jensen and Marpet.

If you didnt see this team would be a train wreck, you dont understand football.

  39. Mike Says:

There is so much going on this year with the team that doesn’t make any sense. Todd Bowles and Leftwich should have been gone weeks ago. We’re quickly watching these team regress and the division title is slipping away fast. If the head office & owners don’t do something fast then we may not win the division at this point. Very disappointing to the team and fans.
