Four Bucs Don’t Practice Because Of Injury

December 2nd, 2022

Friday off.

Some big dudes aren’t feeling quite right.

Joe was depressed this afternoon seeing beastly starting defensive tackle Akiem Hicks sidelined with a foot injury (again) this afternoon. Hicks didn’t practice. He missed six games earlier this season with a foot issue.

Joining Hicks on the sidelines was manbeast Pro Bowl right tackle Tristan Wirfs with a high ankle sprain, as was Pro Bowl safety/nickel Antoine Winfield. Safety Mike Edwards sat out with a bad hamstring.

Russell Gage (hamstring) was limited in practice, as was Vita Vea (foot) and Sean Murphy-Bunting (quad).

The great news was Leonard “Playoff Lenny” Fournette was full-go for the second consecutive day. So it seems his bad hip has recovered. Rookie guard Luke Goedeke also is back to full practice strength following his month-long foot injury.

Tight end Cameron Brate was out with an undisclosed illness. Perhaps he’s feeling like a lot of Bucs fans have been since Sunday.

The footsie twins. Good call passing on Suh for this bum. How many games has Suh missed again due to injury? The players have spoken, Bucs season is officially over, Bowles lost the locker room. Nice job BA!!! Please come out of hiding and comment.

  2. The Beer Whisperer Says:

If it was easy, I’d play. But them boyz would kill me, quick.

  3. Crack3rK Says:

Big Idea: Let the offense loose to win the game. Score 31 points, use time outs. Give the D a break. Rehire Bruce Arians. Oh, and give Byron Lostowich the rest of the season off.

  4. Crack3rK Says:

    Yes, that was sarcasm. Unfortunately.

  5. 1#bucsfan Says:

Most of us knew with hicks n JJ staying healthy would be a challenge. Not surprised. People still crying bout suh geez get over it

  6. Joe in Michigan Says:

I’d have a foot issue too, after putting one up Bowles *** for giving the game away in Cleveland.

  7. 97 bucBaby Says:

Can we start draft talk now please

  8. BucU Says:

In a season of a million dissapointments it’s past the point of giving a $hyt.

  9. Uncle Urk Says:

Lol. How many people think we have a chance again the Saints. I for one don’t. And even if we get lucky, we will lose the next two after that. We go 1 and 3 in the next three games. With one of them being a fluck game where the refs blow a call that helps us win. Also predicting we miss the playoffs by one game. This team, oline, and OC can make even Tom Brady look bad. Literally! Think about that for a second. What if this Brady was in San Fran, Miami, Dallas, Philly, Minnesota, etc… name the team

  10. Deeez NATZ Says:

Bucs are done…They won’t win anymore games this year…sad as hell.

  11. S04 Says:

What makes some people think it will be better next year?
The owners and GM have had all season to do something and yet nada.
I don’t think they will fire Bowles during the off season, will probably wait 2-4 games in,
Brady has been saying lots via his podcast, that accountability starts at the top
That plus the fan ire has gone unnoticed, as if GM and owners do not care.
How do players go out there when they don’t maximize their strengths?
It’s as if they want players to fail, it’s uncalled for.
I will be watching the remaining games, win or lose , I hope they give it their all, if they go down, go down trying and not loafing.
    F.. with Bowles and Leftwich.
    Thanks Joe for your work.

  12. SB Says:

Let us not forget that there was no need for Overtime and getting two of our Best players hurt.

  13. SB Says:

Wirfs was injured by friendly fire when Sneak threw a guy up in the air on a block and he landed on the back of Wirfs’ legs.
Let us not forget that there was no need for Overtime and getting two of our Best players hurt.

  14. DungyDance Says:

Only thing I’m looking forward to on Monday is Hooters. Kind of a bummer they don’t stay open late throughout the whole game anymore. Even just for a home game, come on now.

  15. BigMacAttack Says:

I don’t feel good about our chances with the Saints. Wirfs and Hicks, Vita who knows, and 2 safeties down? We lost to the Browns with them playing. Our season is looking bleak. I think this regime may not be long for their walking papers. I sure hope I’m wrong.

  16. BigMacAttack Says:

Suh wouldn’t have missed a single game.

  17. Charles Says:

I don’t think Tampa will not win another game this season The coach and the OC gotta go now don’t wait until the season ends. Tampa still can win the NFC South but not with these 2 coaches. Fire them now

  18. Marc Coppola Says:

If/when? we don’t make the playoffs this year, the band-aid must be ripped off! Do not let whatever is going on here fester due to false hope. That will ressult in a other lost decade!

YOU DONT WANT TO RELIVE ANOTHER LOST DECADE, JOE… do you??

If this team can’t win with Brady (wait for it) …. THEY CANT WIN.

Blow it up and start over. Culture shock. Trade most of the “blue chip” players and rack up draft picks. Keep Winfield and definitely Wirfs, and maybe anyone else willing to sign an extremely team friendly deal…. Noone else will be here by the time this team is good again.

Fire Bowles. Fire Leftwhich. Keep Licht. Get rid of any locker room cancer. We are 40 million OTC next year… next year isn’t the goal…. try to grab a blue chip QB somewhere down the road and set up for success in 3 years or less.

Trying to force something that isn’t next season will, again, result in another lost decade.

  19. Vegasbuccaneer Says:

Living in Vegas I make more money betting against my team than I do for them every time where favored I take the other team

  20. Redeemer Says:

We all knew Hicks was a dice roll, but Gage? When did he last play, October? I don’t know who’s making these decisions on injured players. Gàge was hurt in camp. If they hadn’t rushed things, he’d probably have been out there the last few weeks. Same with Godwin to start the year. Julio. They played the guy with a PCL against the Chiefs. Apparently someone down there doesn’t understand that the season is a marathon.

  21. Buc4evr Says:

What a joke. Stick a fork in it this team is done. Is it draft time yet?

  22. I’m not tired anymore we just won the Super Bowl!! Says:

SB actually the Browns players just leaped into the air I believe trying to just bat a ball down and the Buc player proceeded to just catch and pile drive the browns player into the ground. Unfortunately it was the back of Wirfs leg. That was like the second time that day I saw that occur. It’s almost like that’s what they were told to do all week in practice. Crappy the way it happened all the way around. Bowels should have never had us in that situation. Still irks me. Go Bucs!

  23. richbucsfan Says:

After Sunday the injury list will be littered with multiple Bucs stars. It will be ugly.

  24. Redeemer Says:

Sucks about Wirfs. High ankle right? I’ve had two, and I’m certainly not close to his size. Depending on the grade, it’s almost better to break the thing. Feels about the same.

  25. Robert Says:

    May as well be 53

  26. Buccos Says:

It will be a good season if we beat the Saints again

  27. unbelievable Says:

It’s crazy how depressing this season has gotten

  28. StretchOMatic Says:

I can’t help but wonder if this team since early on, wanted to tank the season to get rid of this dreadful coaching staff. Then low and behold, to their dismay, the rest of the NFC South is horribly bad and they just can’t tank the season no matter how hard they try. With so many “injuries” and watching certain players take many plays off during a game and that lackluster performance seeming to not be the same players every game, it’s almost like they draw straws to see who gets to take the “gameday off”. That way they each can still produce in other games to keep the monetary “interest” in themselves from others. When you have so many talented, high level players and yet your punter is the only one looking like a Pro-bowler, something is up! Monday night will be a good test of this conspiracy theory. Wouldn’t surprise me, before then, to see the “flu bug” scratch a few players out of that game though.

  29. captivajim Says:

Suh will be in the SB !!!

  30. 2022 Year of the GOAT RETURN Says:

    i expect to get steamrolled

  31. BucsfanFred Says:

I was not upset about the fact we would not resign Suh … Until now.

  32. kyle Says:

who gives FFFFFF?? Season is over. Joe can you please transition the new posts to breaking down rounds 3, 4, 5 of the draft? Thats wear the gems our found.

Maybe some coverage on obscure defensive lineman from Montana??

    Go bucs!!!

  33. kyle Says:

Damn my spelling was like a leftwich play call!!!

  34. Manny Says:

Some of these guys might be missing practice to have a chance for the game. My question is which if these guys is def not playing besides wirfs and concussion winfield. Are vea, hicks and edwards still playimg or is it decided that they are out? Why is it that the oldest player in the league is the only one who can play every game. Hes tougher than all these guys.

  35. Infomeplease Says:

This game is the Bucs last chance to reverse course and start positive momentum for the playoffs! It’s time to man-up!! Anyone who’s 75% good to go, better be suiting up!!!!!

  36. Goatfarmer Says:

    Brian Flores or Eric Bienemy.
