Tipping Lenny

November 3rd, 2022

Generous.

Joe’s a guy who worked his way through college with a good chunk of revenue from tips, so this warms Joe’s heart.

Yeah, former pizza delivery guy Joe can relate to this story big time. Hey, it paid the bills and more importantly, tuition.

It seems Playoff Lenny is a kind man to those in the service industry. By way of WRBQ-FM 104.7, Playoff Lenny recently dined at a sushi joint in Wesley Chapel. Playoff Lenny’s bill came to some $85.

Playoff Lenny left a $1,000 tip.

Per Roxanne Wilder of WRBQ, the server had no idea who Playoff Lenny was. It wasn’t until after Playoff Lenny left that the server was filled in.

Joe caught up with Playoff Lenny yesterday and he seemed shocked this even got out. Playoff Lenny had no clue the waiter was interviewed on local radio.

And Playoff Lenny said it’s not that unusual for him to leave a nice tip.

“It depends how the service is,” Playoff Lenny said. “Depends how the person is. It’s what I felt like doing.”

Playoff Lenny reacted like he was embarrassed by this. Hell, Joe thinks Playoff Lenny should be applauded.

It is good to know some guys who make it big in the NFL haven’t forgotten the little guys of the world. Props to Playoff Lenny!

Deeds like this are awesome, and go a long way to improving your Karma!
The Bucs have enough problems being out of shape and poorly coached with a bunch of injuries.
The last thing our team needs is bad JuJu.
Quite possibly Leonard was raised in a single parent home, and his Mom may have been a waitress ?
I just love reading about random acts of kindness like this.
I was also pleased to see that Brady took his Kids to help feed people in need.

Class move. Hopefully the server doesn’t have to wack it up with the other staff. I know lots of places that do that.

    put him on blast

Maybe Joe’s definition of “putting on blast” is different from others but Joe doesn’t know of anyone who it going after Playoff Lenny for such a kind gesture. If anything, he’s being praised and applauded for this.

Some really do prefer to do good things without drawing attention. Obviously not politicians, but then again, Lenny’s not a politician. Kudos to him for a nice gesture.

Character is defined by what you do when no one is looking!

    Nice!

Awesome story. Already loved Lenny, but super nice. Thanks Joe.

  22. unbelievable Says:

That’s awesome. I waited on a few NFL players and coaches back in the day… most were average 20% tippers, sometimes a drop more, but never did I get a 1000% tip lol.

Jeff Fisher was a total cheap arse though.

  23. Your Mom Says:

did he mean $10.00 and forgot where to put the decimal point?

  24. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

Luv that Lenny. Leads by example. The peppin family we’re always very generous tippers…. Back in the day.

  25. Hunter's Crack Pipe Says:

“Don’t let the left hand know what the right hand is doing.”

Embarrassment is the appropriate response from someone who wasn’t seeking praise. Good on Leonard.

  26. Capt.Tim Says:

Classy and kind. Good Job Lenny.
Wish our line coulda open a few holes for you!

  27. Chalito Says:

Zukku san is a great sushi place by the outlets in Wesley Chapel. My man has great taste! I’m only bummed I didn’t see him there myself!

  28. Ed Says:

Maybe he could tip his o-line a thou each to open a hole on 3rd and short!!

  29. Goatfarmer Says:

Even though he’s one-legged running behind paraplegics with an eggplant scheming the running game, he’s still one of my all time favorite Bucs.

    Here’s another reason why.

  30. garro Says:

Look … a class dude on the Bucs takes some action to prove it. Not just rah rah sideline and locker room words. Actions speak louder than words!
    Hear that D White?
