“That’s A Touchy Subject”

November 25th, 2022

Rookie RB Rachaad White.

It’s a safe bet that Donovan Smith won’t be re-Tweeting video of Rachaad White hammering Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs with the stiff-arm/punch that rocked the world two months ago.

Diggs, a 2015 draft class member with Smith, is a buddy of the Bucs’ Super Bowl left tackle.

Smith was asked about rookie running back White on the Salty Dogs podcast this week and noted the of the stiffarm highlight, “That’s a touchy subject.”

Still Smith likes it. He said the play represents the mentality of White. Smith praised the rookie’s consistency since training camp and how he’s at times made the offensive line look good.

“Power and elusiveness,” Smith said, also makes White the total package in the backfield.

Smith also went out of his way to call Leonard Fournette the leader of the running backs.

Joe is intrigued to see what happens against Cleveland with the running game on Sunday, especially if Fournette’s questionable hip doesn’t allow him to suit up.

Todd Bowles implied today that now-healthy Giovani Bernard would be activated if Fournette can’t play. And no Fournette likely would mean the biggest workload of the season for Ke’Shawn Vaughn. Simply stated, a lot of guys might have the chance to shine.

Two months ago? Dang time flies – seems like just two weeks ago. Getting old I guess.

Always nice to see someone get thrown out da club. Gio is still on the roster? Maybe he can catch a couple screens.

with White & Vaughn—I’d leave Gio at the senior center..

  5. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Lenny is big brusing RB with good hands

White a flexible fast RB with average hands that can do it all

……who would rather have on the field?????

  6. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Lenny was at his best IMO when we had two years of great O-Line play…..take that away and he’s looking like he did at JAX…..not very effective.

Very good RB makes things happen without good O-Line play….think about that for a second.

ONE GAME!!! A bunch of premature ejaculaters. Relax let him settle in, unlike the O & D lines, it’s nice to have options.

Two months ago we were 2 and 0 and white didn’t have 30 yards.
