Vita Vea To Get A Test Run Sunday

November 25th, 2022

Bucs coach Todd Bowles.

So we learned today from Bucs coach Todd Bowles that beastly nose tackle Vita Vea will make the trip to Cleveland tomorrow and at minimum will give his injured foot a test drive pregame.

Bowles was tight-lipped about Vea’s injury. Bowles didn’t believe Vea injured it during the game in Germany when the Bucs last played. Bowles seemed to think — but again, was unclear — that Vea woke up one day during the bye week and noticed his foot was hurting.

Vea did work out today on the field during the 30 minute media viewing to begin practice at One Buc Palace.

“He’s getting better and better,” Bowles said of Vea. “Hopefully with a few more days rest, we will look for him to work out Sunday [before the game] and see what he can do.”

Cleveland has one of the better run games in the NFL between Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. With rain and wind expected in the Cleveland forecast, it screams the Browns will try to pound the ball. So Vea is very much needed.

Joe saw Vea in the Bucs’ locker room Wednesday. He was walking around in sandals. No boot. His ankles were not taped up in any way. Joe also did not notice any obvious limp.

Usually, if guys have a bad wheel, they are in a boot or at least they have their ankles taped up.

    Plantar fasciitis?

Cleveland runs 40% on FD, ranking 7th in the league. Key for the bucs is to stay out of known passing downs. Garrett can wreck a game all by himself. Run the ball, play action, play good D and it should be a win for the boys

Dude weighs 360, no wonder he has limited snaps

  5. IrishTony Says:

Bucs o line has one pass rusher to be concerned about (Garrett). They don’t have anyone else that can rush the passer so I feel like Brady’s going to have time make throws down field.

  6. IrishTony Says:

Oh and as far as stopping the run you have one back to be concerned and hey db’s one FING receiver so you better shut this s**t down!

Vita, is only a few happy meals lighter than a dump-truck.
That’s what makes him so formidable. That’s his fighting weight, lol

  8. Pewter Power Says:

If Bucs are forced to rely on their run game this may be an L. Everyone knows first down will be a run up the middle so teams only have to play good defense on 2nd and third downs

  9. The Beer Whisperer Says:

The Browns are so good, they’ve won 3 games already.

Clowney still has some juice left.

My brother has that Planter. Its awful hard to get rid of. And it’s painful as hell. I hope Vita plays though. At least some of the game. We are gonna need him. Them Browns take pride in their run game. And they are gonna keep tryin to run.

I have a bad left foot (from Bike crash many years ago) I’m only 210 lbs.
can’t imagine toting around 360lbs on a a bad wheel.

Time to error on the side of caution. Play him and he gets hurt worse done for year or multiple games. Shame on the organization if they do that. And shame on them if they don’t have a suitable backup and a backup plan
