Sad Times For Devin White

November 13th, 2022

Fans heard today on the NFL Network broadcast the sad news of Buccaneers savior linebacker Devin White’s father passing away on Thursday. He was only 45 years old.

White, 24, was a beast for the Bucs today with 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 8 solo tackles and 1 tackle for loss.

Joe is not one to get into the details another guy’s family tragedy or when/how White got the news of his dad’s death. Regardless, it’s heartbreaking, especially at just 45 years old.

Rookie tight end Cade Otton’s mother died earlier this season and he was away from the Bucs for a week. White chose to stay with the team and play through what must have been a difficult time.

It’s a great credit to White’s competitive drive and his commitment to the team for which he wears a “C” on his chest.

That’s too bad. Waaaay too young. The kid had a heck of a game with his sack and forced fumble. Hope him and his family can make it through such a tragedy.

I remember Kwon Alexander having a similar game against the Falcons when his brother passed. Kudos to him for standing in the face of tragedy. Sorry for his loss.

This should shut Sapp up for awhile.

Very sad. Unfortunately, the way of the world. We never know… live each day to the fullest with no regrets. And may God bless the entire family in this time of mourning.

Joe, you gonna post the video of the stiff arm from White today????i recorded it off the TV because…. GD that was a stiff arm. Brings back memories of Conte getting it on MNF against the Steelers

Reminds me of Kwon Alexander’s game vs Falcons…I think it was his brother passing…..Kwon stripped the ball away from Julio….

  12. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Sad news. Did he die Suddenly of unknown causes?

  13. Bosch Says:

It is my sincere hope that the coaches awarded one and only one game ball in the locker room today with that ball going to Captain Devin White.

  14. Redeemer Says:

Devin is sadly no stranger to tragedy. His brother and sister died at a young age in car separate car accidents. I’m assuming this is his step dad, who he looked up to and loved. Prayers for Devin and his family. Makes you realize how small, and inconsequential football is compared to real life.

  15. The Beer Whisperer Says:

White was all over the field today. He played like a “Dawg”, a Lavonte David term.

  21. Aceofaerospace Says:

That’s awful. What a warrior. So glad we have a bye week so he can be with his family.

  22. Brandon Says:

That’s awful. I feel terrible for Devin and his family. He wasn’t the first nor will he be the last to play through this pain. Football is the type of cathartic therapy that sometimes helps us work through things like these. I’m glad he had this game and his teammates to see him through his pain.

  23. Chris K Says:

And some of you followed big mouth Sapp over a bad game asking to have his Captaincy to be removed. Shame on many of you! What you saw today screams leadership, but how quick some of you will turn on a guy who played out of his mind on the way to a Super Bowl championship. Short memories, so sad!

    R.I.P. Mr. White

  24. westernbuc Says:

Prayers for Devin White and his family. Playing through that is nothing short of heroic.

As Tom said earlier this season, there’s a lot of s(p)it going on. Hopefully our team will grow through this

  25. D-Rok Says:
