Update On Cam Brate

October 17th, 2022

Resting.

Bucs coach Todd Bowles had good news on tight end Cam Brate.

Brate suffered a sprained neck yesterday, the team says. It was an eerie scene as he was wheeled off the field of the Steelers stadium with his helmet still on and his head taped down for security. He has all use of his extremities, Bowles said today.

Brate was taken to a local Pittsburgh hospital. So quick was Brate in and out of the hospital that he was able to hop on the team plane and fly home with coaches and teammates.

That was remarkable considering the scene in Pittsburgh where Brate was prone on the field for some 10 minutes. Teammates and Bucs coaches encircled Brate as he was tended to by paramedics and trainers.

All tests, Bowles said, were negative.

“It turned out great for him,” Bowles said.

Good for Cam……he may miss a game……but all looks good for him. Glad it’s not another concussion…..that might have been the end for him.

Glad to hear. He has taken some big hits over the years. One on a TD where he was he from behind and his back and head snapped back and hit the turf comes to mind.

Take 3 weeks or a month to let yourself heal Mr Brate.

    Whew! What a relief.

It was commonly thought when it took so long before they carted the guy off it meant the injury was probably career ending. I am all for extreme care in handling an actual injury.

Now as to the rediculous “roughing the passer” penalty calls we have seen lately. … 🙄
