Shaq Barrett Has An Achilles Injury

October 28th, 2022

OLB Shaq Barrett leaving Bucs locker room after loss to the Ravens on Thursday.

The season may have ended for one of the Bucs’ best defensive players Thursday night.

Bucs sack king Shaq Barrett suffered an Achilles injury, Todd Bowles said after the game. Joe had his binoculars on Shaq and he reacted exactly the way Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright reacted when he blew out his Achilles.

Shaq initially raised a foot and hopped up and down before he hit the turf in the second half. He couldn’t leave the field under his own power.

Shaq had one of his best games of the season against the Ravens with a sack, three tackles for loss and a quarterback hit, in addition to strong first-quarter play against the run.

Probably should just throw the towel in at this point.

Fire the coaches Trade Devin White and see what we have in Trask.

  7. Redeemer Says:

He was finished before he got hurt. The one game he decided to show up, that happens. Depending on the dead hit, cut him as soon as he’s healthy.

  8. Bosch Says:

He didn’t have much gas left in the tank. Licht over played signing vets a year past their peak. Now it is coming home to roost.

Game went away with him. Was playing lights out.

  11. KC Says:

We could’ve gotten Quinn for a 4th Rounder to take pressure off of Shaq & JTS/Nelson/Nassib. Hoping for a move for Josh Allen from Jacksonville to help ease this loss. Hoping he heals quickly if the Achilles is torn & he can come back 100%.

  12. T REX Says:

    Hate to hear that.

    So many injuries.

    This staff is cursed.

Need a total house cleaning and that includes Licht.

Brady saved Licht’s job. Licht is a horrible GM

Please forgive my earlier insensitive comment. This injury at this stage in his career may mean the end of his playing days. Thank you Shaquille for your part in our championship season.

  20. Pewter Power Says:

Looking at you Licht, what ya gonna do bruh

  21. IE Buc Says:

Trade Devin White for a TE, a RB, or an LG , for any hole we need plugged. Tade Miller for any value.Trade for JPP. Sign Suh. Sign Tretter. Sign Tyler Johnson.

Shaq was invisible prior to this game, and seemed diminished anyway. Let’s hope for his sake that this is not career-compromising, because few come back from Achilles as explosive as they used to be.

So….will they NOW be forced to go after a top edge rusher? The kind of edge rusher(s) that they refused to go for in the spring, when there was a long list of them in free agency available? A guy like JUSTIN HOUSTON, who sacked Tom tonight. There were so many, and what did they do? Gamble on JTS, who keeps getting ridden out of plays, over and over. Nassib, who is mediocre, and blew a sack/loss tonight that was key.

  23. Mike Johnson Says:

Might get ugly fellow Buc fans. Who knows? We might be in the running for a top pick this season. Now teams are gonna gash our D line even more. Grab some wood. It’s gonna be a long season.

  24. Tony Says:

I don’t know why they didn’t consider trading for Quinn from the beginning. Especially when Chicago was talking about he might be traded. If all it took was a 4th rounder to get him then they could’ve very easily of given up a 4th rounder next year for him since they don’t have a 4th rounder this year unless they get one in a trade. They really do need to consider trading for Bradley Chubb or Josh Allen. Either one would be nice but Allen from Jacksonville. I’m sure even if we had Josh Allen from Buffalo also Bowles & Leftwich would find a way to screw things up with him, too!
