The Hassle That Sparked The Bucs

September 18th, 2022

Thank you, a@@hole!

You see this all the time in baseball. It doesn’t happen often in football. But Joe is convinced a hassle early in the fourth quarter lit the Bucs’ pilot light.

The Bucs’ defense was playing its arse off. The offense huffed and puffed and couldn’t do anything but a field goal.

When mouthy slimy Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore got into it with Playoff Lenny after Lattimore barked at Tom Brady, it led to a fight between Mike Evans and Lattimore resulting in both getting run from the game.

Joe hoped at the time that somehow, that would spark a fuse.

It seemed like it did.

The Bucs went on to score two touchdowns after that fight, one on a 28-yard catch by Breshad Perriman from Brady, the other a 68-yard pick-six. The latter put the Bucs ahead 20-3 with just over four minutes left.

And the Bucs finally broke that voodoo hex with a 20-10 win!

Joe is convinced that nonsense by Lattimore was the jolt the Bucs’ needed on offense.

In baseball, managers often purposely argue with an umpire and get tossed, hoping that stunt will somehow kickstart a team. That’s just what Joe thinks happened for the Bucs when Lattimore acted like himself.

Which is, he acted like an arse.

    Thank you Kareem!

Great game. Bucs coaches have figured out the game plan versus the Saints.

Defense is amazing. Offense can and should improve. Hope they can get Gronk back for the stretch run.

This team can win the ring. Just tune up the offense.

You can see on the replay Arians started that whole thing. He got Lattimore going, intentionally or not.

  3. BucsBro Says:

    Oops I meant Marshon.

  4. Oliver Says:

    Mike Evans MVP

  5. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Hopefully since it was lattimore starting crap Evans doesn’t get suspended.

  6. SunkenGardenz Says:

Thank you Mike for jumping on that grenade. We needed SOMETHING.

    ——-

What got the whole thing started was the stupid refs not calling an obvious pass interference call, and then Lattimore, celebrating that non-call and talking s— to Brady.

Evans fired up the team by knocking Lattimore’s teeth out. Hopefully, next game, we sign Suh to a one game deal, let him start a WR, and break Lattimore’s legs.

  8. Darin Says:

Yeah they can move the ball without lattimore on the field. And Jameis is still scoring points for the Bucs! Atta boy

  9. Alanbucsfan Says:

The refs started it by not calling PI on Lattimore

  10. Yucs2Bucs Says:

Dang I didn’t realize he did the same in 2017 and was suspended for a game and here’s espn said …beginning in 2017 when Evans came running onto the field and shoved Lattimore in the back. Evans was suspended one game for the incident. So we lost our best receiver against the Packers it’s looking like

  11. Buccos Says:

And there it is… the NFC South

  12. Miller5252 Says:

Then ole Winston did what he does best when he feels like he needs to carry the team…. Force balls and throw them picks! That’s why he’ll never really be America’s QB…. Or I guess he could be America’s backup QB!! Hahaha 🤣 🤣🤣 love seeing Winston make Saints fan feel like us Bucs fans for 5 years

  13. Jack Sparrow Says:

Can’t wait for the Bucs to play their first home game next week.

  14. SlyPirate Says:

It will be interesting to see how many games Evans is suspended.

Julio Jones and Godwin need to get healthy.

  15. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving player, team, or fan base.

  16. Bucc941 Says:

Sean Payton looked mad af on the post-game show 🤣🤣🤣

  17. Bucfan593 Says:

Yeah I’m hoping it’s not a longer suspension seeing how it’s the same sircumstances.

  18. RustyRhinos Says:

Hey Joe, I didn’t see the game think we can get a highlight of this play soon?

  19. Jack Sparrow Says:

I’m just happy we are 2-0. A lot of geniuses are saying the schedule of the Bucs they will be lucky to get 1-3 on the first 4 games. Yeah right geniuses !!!

  20. firethecannons Says:

I agree with Joe completely on this Lattimore scufffle changed the mindset and Bucs able to score.. Defense was awesome–superbowl playoff awesome. Winston 3 picks and a lost fumble and took multiple sacks–love that! I was glad Mikey was safe off the field to be honest.

  21. Yucs2Bucs Says:

He got suspended one game doing the same thing in 2017, so
Atleast one !! Thought Mike was passed that and sounds like it ignited the Bucs and stinks because we can lose another reliever and Julio seems like he’s going to do the same thing like he did to the Titans. Russel G needs to get involved

  22. Dew Says:

    Unreal

  23. Buddha Says:

Amazing win given we were playing with a third string left tackle a rookie defensive tackle, and three of our four bottom receivers. Hi

  24. EEK Says:

    Thank you J Winston

  25. gotbbucs Says:

Won’t surprise me if Evans is suspended for more than one game. He’s a repeat offender now.

  26. George Says:

Hopefully Evans suspension is just for the game

  27. johnnymoon Says:

    Evans threw a Punch in 2017 ..

  28. Listnfrmafar Says:

Bet we don’t hear from oralbuc and Oneilbucyall & Auvustfor a while. Defense rules in now on that list. He used injuries as an excuse all 2021 season for the D but the O gets no sympathy. DR, you are a hypocrate. Two questions, why NO FA olinemen and 2. How many games did Suh miss due to injury?

  29. Miller5252 Says:

@yucs2bucs the difference with this fight compared to the old one was Evans hit him face to face this time. Last time Evans blew him up in the back. So let’s hope since the Saints were shoving folks first and Evans pushed him face to face, Evans don’t get any suspension games.

  30. Natron Says:

Next time we crush them in Tampa……Lattimore is
    a POS

  31. Scott Says:

if the official’s called PI on him he would suck! every single play he does PI !!!!

  32. King C Says:

This should be the Bucs’ plan every game. Getting Lattimore thrown out the game hurts their defense way more than losing Evans does to the TB offense

  33. stpetebucsfan Says:

I agree with Rod and the others who pointed out that the refs ignoring the PI call after the mugging going on was what had people on edge.

Brady went up to the refs to challenge the obvious missed call and Lattimore ran his mouth…Fournette stopped him and Lattimore then threw one at Playoff Lennie.

If it was hockey Lattimore would have been tossed immediately as the instigator.

The best thing is that Lattimore has to listen to all the coverage claiming that the fight is what fired up the Bucs and turned the game. IE…It was all Latimore’s fault…that and JW “Check yo stats and FHITP” choke.

  34. SufferingSince76 Says:

The NFL is complicit in the freaking refs jamming the Bucs. Sick of it.

  35. Oneilbuc Says:

Listnfrmafart I’m happy we won defense done their job so what you talking about? Lol 🤣🤣 . And if you talking about Jameis that’s not a big deal to me every quarterback has a bad game. Brady wasn’t great either and Jameis played with 4 broken bones in his back . Every player regardless of position ain’t going to be good every game and that includes Brady.

  36. JimmyJack Says:

I love when players hate a team as much as I do. That fight didnt bother me one bit. Cant be getting ejected in December, but week 2? Thank You Mike!

  37. AbucAway Says:

Dammit. In at work and miss the excitement. Videos please, Joe’s. And I predicted BUCS by 10. I should have booked it!

  38. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Today, with this fight, the Bucs established that THEY are the true Alpha Males!
    Evans sent Lattimore flying, LOL
I hope Goodell does not suspend Evans for long, and we need our other receivers to get healthy!
But we are 2 and 0 and Undefeated!

  39. Eric Says:

It was the spark I think Mike Evans should get MVP for just getting kicked out of the game. The defense was having a good game until then and then they had a great game

  40. Bubby Says:

Mike Evans is the greatest. I can’t wait to see him in person next week.

  41. Rod Munch Says:

Lattimore is pointing to his missing teeth that Evans knocked out in that photo.

  42. Jerseybuc Says:

Marshawn the mouth another saints piece of trash!!
Thanks for the spark jack ass

  43. Listnfrmafar Says:

Evan’s will be fined he shouldn’t be suspended. Oneilbucyall, ya know what is more distracting than 4 broken bones in your back? When the wife moves out with the kids.

  44. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Arians started the sh** talking from the sideline if you noticed!! Lol … Then that bled into words with Brady!!

  45. Crickett Baker Says:

In my opinion, being a bad call started it, Evans won’t be suspended, just fined. Both entire teams were involved.

  46. orlbucfan Says:

List, hope you’re not dissing me. The Mighty Defense won this sucker big-time! The weakest players were fossilqb, end of statement. I had Bucs Radio on headphones, and btube video on sound off. OLine did well, too. Refs naturally showed up and po’ed the Bucs off. They have that one down. But, Bowles and the D. They are healthy and will only get better. Tony Dungy Part 2. Whew……!

  47. Sharon Schmidt Says:

If cry baby Brady would had kept his mouth shut all this wouldn’t had happened. O not yo mention let’s throw the helmet and I pad. He is pitiful!!!

  48. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

    Sharon – please.

  49. Anonymous Says:

    Saints always running that mouth

  50. B.Carr Says:

    Say it again… Sharon please.

  51. Rory Says:

Mike E. Is a Texas man he will beat the hair off Little Lattimore The Ohio mouth! He should ask for a trade to Cleveland then he wouldn’t have to worry about being a loser!

  52. Beeej Says:

    Men are talking here

  53. Rory Says:

    Poor Sharon!

  54. JayCag Says:

Changed the whole game. That’s what you do when someone messing with your Hall of Fame Quarterback. You bust his ass and that’s what he did. Evans is the man an always has been. F……. Love It.

  55. Allen Lofton Says:

Lattimore is really a thug, dirty player and for some reason the Refs let him hold way beyond reasonable. Love the Bucs beating the aints at their game!!!

  56. Oddball Says:

Like a few others I think Arians initially got Lattimore spun up.

  57. LakelandSteve Says:

Not sure the fight sparked better play by us more than it seemed to rattle the saints. I think the saints finally realized we weren’t going to take their shi*e anymore. It’s really been simmering since the hit into Godwins knees last year that knocked him out the rest of the year. Looked like the Bucs just finally had enough.

  58. Listnfrmafar Says:

Oralbuc, what did the so called fossil do other than throw the PERFECT pass to Perriman? The secondary played great the front 7 got ran over until running was off the table. Make shift offensive line, NO receiving TE’s, Miller, Perriman and Gage are your only receivers and you can’t run the ball. Thank GOD for the fossil!!!

  59. Steve Gaudreau Says:

Mike didn’t like Lattimore getting in TB12s face. It’s like when someone runs the goalie in hockey. Bad choice

  60. MadMax Says:

Im so happy for Edwards! He’s been working his tale off and deserved that pick6…

As for the a-hole…got what he deserved….thats fo shO!

Bucs sending a strong message, we aint messing around….you mess with us, you gonna get got!

  61. David Says:

Someone else mentioned it earlier but I saw the same thing. Bruce Arians was barking at Lattimore from the sidelines for some reason that was getting under slimy lattimore.

Then when Brady was barking to the referee Lattimore had to open his trap and then it all snowballed from there.

Evans came in to protect what he saw was a headshot to Lenny. Evans did not act like a baseball manager, to me it was more like a hockey fight that riled up and motivated the team.
    Worth the one game suspension
if it happens but since he was already on the field to play, I do not think he should be suspended

  62. Anonymous Says:

Cry Brady will always get his way. Leonard should have been ejected out the game as well. When a player gets hit like that, I would expect any player to hit back, but when you get hit from behind like Lattimore did by Evans, there’s no needs for that in football. You (Evans) were beat the entire game by one man (Lattimore) and you do a dirty act like that. This was a entire plot by Brady to get his way. In his time Brady may have been great, but it’s time to move over.

  63. Listnfrmafar Says:

Anonymous, very negative. BA popped another piston and Evan’s hit him straight on, it was Latimore that jumped on Evan’s back when he went after #9 Maye. Showing emotion is a sign of passion, obviously you have none. Without Brady this team is swishing around at the bottom of the toilet. Please stay anonymous, you’re embarrassing yourself.
