Breshad Perriman Fits The Bucs Just Right

September 18th, 2022

Bucs WR Breshad Perriman.

Damn, this Breshad Perriman is starting to become Mr. Clutch.

Perriman, who has bounced around the league, tossed overboard from garbage teams like the Lions and Bears, sure fits well in Byron Leftwich’s passing attack.

Perriman, as the No. 3 receiver in 2019, played great for the Bucs, especially late that season when he became the Bucs’ No. 1 receiver after Mike Evans and Chris Godwin were lost to injuries.

He did nothing after he went for a money grab with the Jets. So the Jets turned him loose. Then the Lions. Then the Bears.

The Bucs brought him back last year midseason and he responded by scoring the winning touchdown in an overtime game with the Bills.

Today, with Evans (disqualified), Julio Jones (knee) and Godwin (hamstring) out, Perriman came through big again.

He caught a 28-yard pass from Tom Brady in the right corner of the end zone to give the Bucs, who previously were beyond struggling, the go-ahead touchdown in a 20-10 win over the slimy Saints.

Some guys, for whatever reason, seem to work well in certain offenses when they struggle elsewhere. Or could it be Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich just knows how to get Perriman in the right position to make plays?

Either way, Perriman is a damn good fit.

Two big games. Two big catches. Two Bucs wins. Joe likes that pattern!

Perriman was in on the fight that won the game!

Perriman has the Freakin Dropsies this season , except for that GOAT of a TD throw by Barady that Perriman should be bounced from football if he didn’t hang onto.

C’mon, Perriman! We need you more than once a game right now! (but thanks for the catch in the clutch, we Bucs fans do appreciate that)

he is a keeper! makes the big play he was essential to this win!

  6. Howard Cosell Says:

He should have caught that 2nd sweet touch pass.
But the TD was nothing short of heroic

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Both Perriman & Scotty had some near misses that we know Julio & Chris would have caught….

  8. Miller5252 Says:

Perriman had a great catch in the TD, but dropped that easy 3rd down catch that could have iced it earlier. Dude can do some great things, but every once in a while he just does something like that.

Gage must be hurting still as well, he hasn’t really done anything to match that new contract yet. But…. Who cares about any of this today!!! Bucs are 2-0 with a crappy reviving corp coming to town! Fire them cannons!!!

    @TBF
    You are correct sir

Thank God the DardOn came through big. Oh, wait.

  12. JimmyJack Says:

Remember that play to Perriman. I will and you will never hear me whining when we take a shot on 3rd and five.

Later we took a shot on 3rd and 3 and Perriman scrubbed it. Im not too impressised with Perriman. It felt like we were in deep trouble when Evans went out. Luckily the opposing QBs throws bonheaded picks on 2nd down.

  13. Eckwood Says:

Size, speed ….. subject hands !!

  14. adam from ny Says:

always pretty happy with perriman as a depth receiver…

and i really hope they drag “doink” grayson back into the fold – over some of these back end guys and practice squad guys they’re carrying rn

  15. adam from ny Says:

    and wow…

lattimore really makes ME13 like totally crazy…!!…

the mnf rematch game in tampa in early december should be a good one

  16. RobSinger Says:

Perriman catching that dime from Brady had NOTHING to do with Bowles. Bowles is stifling Brady and we have the TB defense to thank for helping win these two games. Bowles is a flat-out Stoopid play-caller. He’s no better than when he coached the Jets. F him.

  17. ModHairKen Says:

Breshard Perriman is an unsung hero. God Bless him

  18. Oxycondoms Says:

Always felt like perriman mot playing vs rams was a big reason for the loss.

  19. Cj189 Says:

Why can’t Tampa Bay go after Danny and andola I know he’s older but Brady knows him like a book and the great slot and Red Zone weapon

  20. Rod Munch Says:

If Perriman could just stay healthy, he could do something. He’s got the size and speed and his hands are good enough, but it’s always stop and go with him because of injuries. BUT today is why he’s here and TJ is not. When your top guys are out you MUST have someone with enough speed to actually get open. TJ, as a #5 WR is really good – but as a #2 WR, kills your offense.

I wouldn’t want to rely on Perriman every week, but from time to time he can play big, until he gets hurt again, anyways.

    U C F Knights!!!!!

  22. David Says:

Perriman & Miller & Brate need to step up and make the catches.

Brate is the surprising one to me. He always had very sure hands. I expect to see Otton more and more and more as the year goes on.

With Godwin and Jones out and Evans likely suspended, that leaves a lot of small speedy receivers against the Packers. Gage is taller but plays smaller.

    Missing Tyler Johnson about now

  23. 1buc Says:

    UCF!!!!

  24. Bucsfan13 Says:

We had a lot of drops this game. There’s a low margin for error against the Saints. That’s why Brady was a little pissed.

  25. SteelStudBuc Says:

I love BP. He’s a great receiver, just needs the opportunity. He won’t last much longer unless he keeps making the most clutch game winning catches we know he’s capable of. Too many inconsistent games, I juries… then big splashes.

  26. Wild Bill Says:

A big fast receiver with decent hands is a great number 4 receiver for any passing m team with a qb like Brady. Perriman is a huge mismatch against a shorter or slower number 3 or 4 db.

  27. Family Stone Says:

Perriman came through I’m the clutch once again. Stay focused and keep on doing great things my guy. Tune out these ungrateful fans that can’t appreciate you and always have negative things to say. Keep on keeping on!!!

    Go 16!!!!
