Tampa Bay’s Not-So-Secret “Weapon”

September 1st, 2022

Tom Brady trainer/fitness guru/health coach Alex Guerrero (right) is a fixture with the Bucs.

So how many Bucs are working the TB12 fitness/diet/training method in some form?

Light has been shed this week.

First, it was Bucco Bruce Arians noting on ESPN TV that backup QB Blaine Gabbert is doing the TB12 thing and looks great. After he said it, Arians was blasted immediately by host Screamin’ Stephen A. Smith, who reminded the head coach that he just said Blaine Gabbert looked great on national TV.

It was as if Smith said Gabbert stinks and was asking if Arians wanted to recall that take. Arians didn’t flinch and said he’s a huge Gabbert fan.

But more interesting was Antoine Winfield Jr. on The Pat McAfee Show talking about how famed Brady training guru Alex Guerrero is a fixture at One Buc Palace.

McAfee asked if Guerrero has every player on a meal plan, and Winfield said he’s not sure but he’s confident Guerrero would do that.

“He’s out here working, though, we see him pretty much every day,” Winfield said of Guerrero.

So is having Guerrero “a weapon?” McAfee asked.

“I’m sure it is [a weapon,]” Winfield said. “I’m sure other teams don’t have guys like that in their building in the facility coming around and getting everybody right. So it’s good to have.”

Joe knows Guerrero works with Mike Evans and other players. Of course, earlier this year rapper/quitter/legendary receiver Antonio Brown shared how he believes Guerrero owes him $100,000 for services not rendered, a social media rant that included Guerrero’s full bank account information.

It’s clear, even more today, that Guerrero is a fixture at One Buc Palace. Hopefully that remains a smooth and successful relationship. Here’s a link to how things soured with Guerrero and the Patriots.

This week, Bucco Bruce Arians told Pardon My Take of Barstool Sports that Guerrero was given an “open arms” welcome to work his magic at Bucs headquarters.

Some of us are waiting for the variant that includes beer, booze, and pizza.

The interview is 20:25 into the August 31st edition of PMS if any of you want the source on that interview since they didn’t bother to link it.

  5. Kentucky Buc Says:

I’m on the 12-12 diet plan. If a 12 pack doesn’t get it done I go for a second 12 pack.

  6. Goatfarmer Says:

I like the way you do things in Kentucky.

  7. BucU Says:

Wasn’t the posted bank account info that was posted Antonio Browns and not Guerrero?

  8. AbucAway Says:

I’d be able to stick to The Goatfarmer method for sure. Like a champion.

Guerrero… maybe his mostly plant-based methods work with Brady but for speed and strength guys, meat based will always be the correct way to go.

I wonder if Guerrero knew about Tom Brady’s plans to miss training camp and it was him in the end that “leaked” with Tom’s permission that it was something negotiated for Tom coming out of retirement.

I recall when that Guerrero story broke years ago that Bill Belichick was upset that Guerrero was telling his players (including Brady) to not do squats. Brady is still playing at an elite level, and voted #1 on NFL Top 100, thanks to Guerrero so maybe he knows what he’s talking about.

Sign me up for Goatfarmer’s training regimen. Anything for the team.

The meal plan for Hicks and Vea is probably greater than some 3rd world countries.

We actually have a great collaboration going here – Kentucky Buc’s plan is an all-liquid diet. Think of a smoothie, only way better. So you do that for two weeks to retrain your metabolism and body chemistry, then add pizza, and finish with single malt and bourbon nightcaps.

    It’s fool proof.

I went plant based a few years ago after seeing what it’s doing for Brady, and have to say it might actually be the best decision I ever made. Fully expected to not confit for long. Turning 40 soon and feel better than I did at 25.

  17. Goatfarmer Says:

Beer is plant based. So is bourbon. And pizza can be plant based.
