Report: NFL Doesn’t Want To Use Valuable First Responder Resources For Bucs To Play In South Florida

September 28th, 2022

This is the most logical, though unfair for the Bucs, reasoning Joe has read or heard of why the NFL won’t move the Chiefs-Bucs game to Miami on Sunday night. It also suggests the game won’t be in Tampa either.

Per Jenna Laine of ESPN, she contacted the league to find out the rationale for moving the Chiefs-Bucs game and why the NFL doesn’t want it in Florida..

Basically, whenever a natural disaster hits, available first responders throughout the state, often volunteer or are dispatched to the areas of need to pitch in on the recovery process. The NFL, per Laine, doesn’t want to pull away available first responders from a storm-impacted area, as hundreds are needed to staff a football game with fans.

According to sources, the NFL does not want to risk taking up state resources to host a game in Miami that could be better utilized in Tampa in the aftermath of the hurricane.

That makes all the sense in the world to Joe, which sort of tells Joe that the game may not be played in Tampa on Sunday night regardless of what Hurricane Beckles does.

The way Joe reads this, if Miami resources are needed to help if Tampa took a direct hit from Hurricane Beckles, Tampa-area resources also would be needed in Southwest Florida, where it seems Hurricane Beckles is now aiming.

Yesterday, the creator, curator and overall guru of Pro Football Talk, the great Mike Florio, reported the NFL is not discussing moving the game, which Florio reads as the NFL has already decided to move the game but just hasn’t announced it yet.

Laine also reported that the NFL, if it moves the game, will likely use an NFL stadium in the Midwest. That’s really a raw deal for the Bucs because that makes the game a de facto home game for the Chiefs.

If it was moved to Gillette it would be like a home game for tampa !

  2. Hodad Says:

We’re 2-0 0n the road, 0-1 at home. Last Sunday with all the Packer fans, and game outcome, I was reminded of the den of you know what. Maybe a trip to Viking land isn’t such a bad thing. Joe, think 6ft blond woman.

Sunday will be beautiful in Tampa

Friends don’t expect any favors from the NFL. Why? If you watched the news at all you know that the Left HATES Donald Trump more than a case of the clap. They have tormented him non-stop for 6 years. By now i’m sure you know Goodell doesn’t like Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr.

  5. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Better update that map Joe!

I hate this one….its hitting my 2 favorite spots in florida…ft. myers beach and then blowing over to ormond beach….then its forecast to come right over me on saturday, when i start work at 5am (duncan sc)…its gonna be fun working outside for 10 hrs in this stuff lol. Im a yard driver and hope theres not many trailers to move that day.

  9. Irishmist Says:

Looks like Tampa is mostly going to be spared. Sanibel and Captiva islands may not be there tomorrow, though.

  10. MadMax Says:

Some of my best ocean photos were taken at Captiva and ft. myers beach. Man i hope this thing weakens quick….

  11. Bradinator Says:

That is a reasonable explanation. If the West Coast gets blasted by a Cat 4 or a possible Cat 5, there is going to be some major damage, that cannot be handled by the local personnel. We know full well no one in our Division is going to offer their close Stadium for us to play in. So what is the alternative for the NFL? Either way, there ain’t gonna be a home game this week kids. Rub some dirt on it and quit crying. Be more worried about getting at least one other WR besides Evans back, AND our LT back.

  12. Chris Says:

Hodad – All the Packers fans? Honestly, it really wasn’t that bad. Maybe 80/20, 70/30. I’ve been a season ticket holder since 2004 and definitely know what it feels like to be outnumbered. I did not have that feeling at all Sunday.

  13. Harold Ed Hall Says:

Tampa FL. Is not damaged, but we can say what we want, we’ll be in the Midwest weather we like it or not.
