Bruce Arians Day Postponed

September 27th, 2022

Feted on a later day.

In what Joe guesses is a precursor to moving Sunday night’s Chiefs-Bucs game, an announcement was made by the Bucs this afternoon.

Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians was to have been inducted into the Buccaneers Ring of Honor Sunday night. That has been postponed due to Hurricane Beckles.

Joe has a hunch that with the Tampa Bay area expecting unprecedented flooding, the Bucs will not be able to host Sunday night’s game.

Last night NFL insider Jeff Darlington posted on Twitter that a leading candidate to host the Chiefs-Bucs game would be the Vikings. Joe noted Sunday that Nashville is an option.

Arians is the best coach in Bucs history though his tenure was very short. He took over one of the most moribund franchises — with the worst home record in the NFC in the post-Chucky era — and it took him two years to turn around a laughingstock that Sean Payton recently said had no credibility.

Arians flipped that into a Super Bowl champion in 24 months.

Only one other coach has won a Super Bowl with the Bucs, Chucky.

Brady turned the franchise around, not Bruce Arians.

  2. Goatfarmer Says:

Redeemer, without BA, Brady goes elsewhere. Stop speaking with your southern anterior mouth.

Redeemer, without BA, Brady goes elsewhere.

    It really is that simple.

  4. Dooley Says:

    @Redemeer

The turn around started in 2019 with the hiring of Bruce Arians, the hiring of his staff, and a pretty solid 2019 draft class. Do you seriously think, Brady would’ve joined this team if Dirk Koetter were still our HC in the 2020 offseason? or better yet, if our offense produced in 2019 on par with the 2018 Bucs offense, do you really think Tampa would’ve looked as desirable as BA actually had it looking in spite of inheriting a human turnover in 2019?

  5. Bojim Says:

Yeah? Well BA is not there and the Bucs have no offense. Hmmmmm

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Does anyone else besides Leftwich, Brady & TBBF miss BA?

  7. Crickett Baker Says:

    I miss him! 😀

  8. CannonPowder21 Says:

Hope BA is in Byron’s ear about maybe some in-season adjustments like the 7-5 bye week in 2020.

  9. D.B. Cooper Says:

@Redeemer – You are correct, Brady turned this franchise around. Emotions often get in the way of others truly seeing this for the fact that it is.

@Goatfarmer – Brady did not choose Tampa because of B.A. Brady chose Tampa for 2 reasons: (1) The weapons (WRs) and OLine (credit here to J.Licht and those involved in the draft); (2) Lack of other options.

Expanding on (2), it is well known at this point that Brady had 2 options in early 2020, the Bucs and the Chargers. Others teams, through stubbornness or sheer management incompetence, decided to pass on Brady.

No disrespect intended to the BA boosters here, but, in so many cases in life, past history is the best indicator of future performance.

If 2020 proceeds with Arians and no Brady, the likely outcome is a team on the verge of the playoffs (depending who they would have ended up getting at QB), possibly sneaking in, and likely being 1 and done. The NFL is an incredibly competitive league, and rising to the top is not an easy task. Getting into the playoffs is an achievement, no doubt.

However, once Brady entered the picture, everything changed. The most important thing that changed being the entire culture of the organization.

You need to look no further to the Patriots record, post Brady (with a lot of the same players that Brady had in 2019), to see the impact that Brady has on a team.

Remove emotions, analyze the facts. Objectively, it’s easy to see who was responsible for the turn around.

    Joe,

Please tell us more about Sean Payton’s comments. What exactly did he say? And when?

  11. Jie Says:

Does anyone else besides Leftwich, Brady & TBBF miss BA?

    Joe dies. BIG TIME!

  12. Redeemer Says:

With the talent the bucs had, any average coach would’ve done for Brady.

  13. Goatfarmer Says:

DB Cooper – your parachute obviously failed. You have a closed head injury that has caused severe cognitive deterioration. The emotion is in your stance – the conspiracy stance. Ignore the facts, the results – then or now.

    Lint.

  14. Listnfrmafar Says:

D.B, well put. Take away the emotions and look at the facts. BA is NOT moving this team forward without Brady, he likes to thinks so but not so. He also has stuck the Bucs with a 2 time loser incompetent HC and staff. Yet the Bucs may still go deep in the PO’s win the NFC South once a few quality receivers and linemen return with Brady at the helm.

Some where some one is saying Put James Wilder on the Wall of Fame first….

  16. Bellingham Bucs Fan Says:

Undo a great wrong by slipping James Wilder in there while we wait.
