Todd Bowles Says Bucs “Will Keep In Touch” With Tom Brady

August 5th, 2022

Day-to-day availability.

Yes, Tom Brady has missed the last two Bucs practices.

On Wednesday it was a birthday off-day. Today it was a personal matter following yesterday’s team day off.

After practice today, head coach Todd Bowles made it seem like Brady’s current issue could linger.

“We’ll let him do what he needs to do. If he’s back tomorrow, that’s great. But we’ll keep in touch and we’ll monitor that,” Bowles said of Brady’s “excused absence.”

Joe sure hopes nothing tragic is happening in Brady’s personal life. The “we’ll keep in touch” line made Joe take pause.

Bowles went on to note how his backup quarterbacks are benefiting from all the extra work in Brady’s absence.

    Divorce?

  2. D-Rok Says:

I hope it’s something minor and he will be back soon, laser-focused.

  3. Walter Says:

Needs some time off to work out his next landing spot after he leaves Tampa this coming offseason

  4. NeverGIVEup Says:

Question for the over 40 club.

Raise your hand if you like PRACTICING in the Florida heat for weeks on end… Especially when you’re the GOAT.

    Not all at once now.

Brady’s looking out for Kyle Trask too.

Maybe its a story if he starts bailing on game days.

  5. Red-sparrow Says:

Tom also hasn’t been active on social media for the past week excluding intern-posted-ads. Hope everything is fine….

  6. Bucs Win Says:

Brady doesn’t give 2 spits about Trask lol. What a stupid take!!

  7. NeverGIVEup Says:

Never said he cared. Just said he was looking out for him. Just like TB acknowledged in the article.

  8. PassingThru Says:

This is just conjecture, but Brady could have traveled to the west coast. His mother had breast cancer back years ago, and both her and her husband are at an age where the body can betray you. Hopefully, it’s not that, but the “will keep in touch” sounds like there’s a travel itinerary involved.

  9. TAMPA BAY DEMON Says:

It feels a little uncomfortable speculating, especially with any sort of playful jabs. Because there is a possibility that it could be something serious. Maybe with a family member, parent, etc… — Very much hoping all is well for Tom and family.

  10. tampabuscsbro Says:

Stop worrying he is 45. He is the person on the team that probably needs the least practice out of anyone. He isn’t even going to see the field until a dress rehearsal pre season game in 3 weeks.

He can probably take most of camp off and be fine.

  11. SB~LV Says:

    Temper Tantrum Tom ?

  12. SB~LV Says:

It was noticed by the media and public that he seemed out of sorts in his first interview at the start of TC
sorry for my snarky TTT post above

  13. GOB Says:

Hope it’s not his mom. She’s been battling cancer for years now.

  14. Beeej Says:

One of his parents I bet. They have a very close family

  15. tbbucs3 Says:

Brady will be back in time for joint practices with the Miami Dolphins……he will just be in a Dolphins uniform.

  16. Bucsfan13 Says:

@Red-Sparrow. I noticed the same thing about his social media, although he has a team that handles most of his social media activity. I know they handle his business social media stuff like TB12 and Brady Brand I did notice he didn’t post any birthday wishes on his IG story. Giselle posted a happy birthday post, and Brady didn’t like or comment like he usual does. It could be his parents. They were very sick with COVID in 2020 and his father said Tom would FaceTime them before and after practice, and it was very stressful for him. Tom loves practice, so this is very unusual for him. Hopefully it’s not anything serious. I still believe he won’t play this season because of the Dolphins issue. He probably will make a Friday news dump announcement that he’s not returning for the season.

  17. Goatfarmer Says:

    Damn.

  18. BucsFan81 Says:

Maybe now that he knows Jensen will be out for awhile he is having second thoughts on coming back. Hopefully he doesn’t retire before the season starts and we are left with NO QB.

  19. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Like I said….he’s seeking counselling for the loss of Gronky…..

But, not to worry….he’s studying film on FA WRs……

  20. Lesko_Brandon Says:

    Practice ?! What practice ?!

  21. Richard Says:

People really need to knock off the sarcasm at this time…it very well could be a serious family issue…if it is, unfortunately there will be lot of leather in your mouths….i pray it’s nothing too serious and he can return quickly

  22. Jerry Says:

    Afraid to show himself now?

  23. captivajim Says:

he was definitely “off” at the 1st press conf. last monday –i had thought that he knew then that his miami ventures were about to come out ??

but , now i suspect it is a family issue

  24. Bucswin Says:

Could be a family health issue.

  25. Bucsfan Says:

I think Brady has covid. Its def. does not have anything to do with family. Gisele just posted her on a talk show like 20 yrs ago with a monkey on ig stories. Brady’s niece maya posted ig stories of her over in Japan playing softball. If things were serious the family would not be posting these things

  26. Kody Says:

    The DRAMA never ends!!! NEVER!!!

  27. Woodenman Says:

It’s funny how every one on here knows for sure what his problem is.

  28. Bucsfan13 Says:

Brady doesn’t have COVID. He would’ve been immediately ruled out for practice tomorrow. Kyler Murray contracted COVID and was immediately ruled out for five days. It made no sense for Bowles to be unsure as to when he would return if he knew Brady had COVID. That’s something Brady would have to report immediately. All I know is that I followed Brady’s entire career, and he’s never missed practice three days in a row. His current and former teammates have said he loves practice just as much as games, so it’s very significant news that he didn’t practice today. It’s also odd that Bowles had no idea when he would return. I would think Brady would have given him a date as to when he would be back with the team if I was small matter.

I just don’t want to imagine him ending his illustrious and historic career in this fashion. I can’t imagine that he would want it to end like this as well.

  29. DBS Says:

Brady is not going to pull an AB and quit on his team. Get over it. The Bucs know what the situation is and right now consider it none of ours. Period!

  30. SB~LV Says:

    Really retiring now…
His heart is just not in it anymore
Time to move on Bucs fans
He has not been happy since returning for TC

  31. adam from ny Says:

    what if:

gronk got him skunk azz drunk for his birthday and he needed a day or two…

or if he’s in another city visiting a random center friend of his for some random reason 🙂

  32. Bucfan Says:

Some of these comments are in very poor taste. Tom will fulfill his contract and play this year.

  33. Crickett Baker Says:

I just hope it isn’t some sort of health problem with him or someone in his family. His face has looked different in all of the photos that I have seen of him this month and last It has looked leaner and older and I haven’t known why. He just looks different.

  34. Capt.Tim Says:

Lost 3 out of 5 offensive linemen.
    Yeah. 3 put of 5.
Meybe reconsidering playing again this year.
If I were in that position- I would.
No reason to take a beating at his age.

Hope everything is ok with him, and that he wants to play this season.

  35. MadMax Says:

Days off are sometimes required around you Bday…day of, day before, days after….all good, calm down….he deserves this and yall know it. Everythings gonna be ok nancy boys lol.

  36. Bucsfan Says:

    Bucsfan13

I am a big Brady fan. Brady has something. Maybe not covid but something is wrong.. Maybe Brady feels like his good friend Bruce Beal betrayed him. Like when Belichick said ask Tom about the balls. Miami flores case was supposed to be about tanking and flores treated bad because he was black.. Now nobody cares about Flores and his lawsuit all they care about is Brady wanting to leave the patriots in 2019. Best thing that ever happened to Brady was getting away from Bill putin Belichick. F Bill

  37. Lordy Says:

    This definitely screams family issue.

  38. Listnfrmafar Says:

Lordy, I agree. If it was anything else he wouldn’t want to draw the attention after what was found out earlier this week. Giselle, parents or children issue. It could be over Bucs fans.

  39. SB~LV Says:

It was the photo of Parcels!
    Jinxed again
    Parcels twice
    Kelly once
    Brady?

  40. LakelandSteve Says:

The only thing that makes sense is this could be some type of issue with his family. I don’t see Brady quitting the team as others have posted, that is not his style.

  41. ME13 Says:

Tom has looked gaunt and skinny. He looked sickly during his press conference Tom’s weight loss seems to be the elephant in the room. Are we sure he’s healthy? You must be blind if you don’t see the dramatic weight loss.

  42. Brazen Zebra Says:

    Alzheimer’s?

  43. Allbuccedup Says:

Another retirement is on the horizon!

  44. Im not tired anymore we Super Bowl Champs!! Says:

Prayers to good news for Brady and family. Go Bucs!

  45. sasquatch Says:

He’s having second thoughts about coming back.

  46. G in MAxxa Says:

He won Tampa a SB and the next the defense folded in the playoffs !Tampa could have been in a second SB his second year. Yet supporters here are bad mouthing him here ! Bring back Jamison see where will be !!

  47. orlbucfan Says:

The entire Bucs team plus Brady won that SB. Good riddance if he retires.

  48. captivajim Says:

he looked gaunt and weak at that press conf..could it be he has a serious health issue?? “will keep in touch” — sounds like its going to be more than a week or 2..

  49. Youallareignorant Says:

He was back at practice today. Looked healthy and was participating in everything. All of the “fans” that said something in poor taste or said “good riddance” you really shouldn’t even have watch the Bucs until TB12 is gone. It’s clear you’re not really fans anyway.

  50. Shane Says:

I don’t know it’s kind of scary not to me tion the interview he did after practice the other day he looked very annoyed like he didn’t want to be there and dismissed a few the medias questions something was definitely wrong it want normal TB12 that’s for sure I remember thinking wow why he acting like that something’s definitely off when I watched it and now this?? For sure worry’s me a bit
