Mike Evans “Might Have Tweaked A Hamstring”

August 5th, 2022

Mike Evans.

Mike Evans’ end zone spike at One Buc Palace today was not a celebration.

Those watching practice today saw Evans have a minor issue on the field and stop playing.

After practice, head coach Todd Bowles said Evans “might have tweaked a hamstring.”

That used to be a common summer occurrence for Evans, though not last year.

There are no official injury reports in training camp, so Joe will join the rest of Bucs fandom in waiting for word on Evans. But Joe does expect Evans to get at least a couple of days off after this.

The injury apparently happened on a long bomb of a touchdown pass down the right sideline by Blaine Gabbert (Tom Brady had an excused absence). As Evans crossed the goal line, he spiked the ball. Joe thought it was a sign of exuberance as Evans roasted a defender.

That, unfortunately, was a spike of frustration from Evans. He left the practice field and did not return.

Deja Vu all over again. 🤨

Evans was talking on TV this week, it might’ve been with Smith and Wolfe. Evans said his first year as a pro, he was so unflexible he couldn’t even touch his toes. Surely that made his hammies tight? And Surely he’s much more flexible now?

I hope this hammie tweak is very minor, and heals properly. We can’t have Mike missing games with a bad hammie all year. Stretch, Mike, stretch!!

  3. Leighroy Says:

It’s like he has an annual quota of hammy issues

  4. NeverGIVEup Says:

The Hammie issue is always a precursor to ME putting up 1000 and 10.

Plus, no need to practice when you’re the ONLY WR to have ever done what he has done.

Enjoy the down time, Mike. See you in a few weeks.

Like I said last year…. This is so common that Joe had already had the story pretty much written. Like Ira’s obituary of Bill Russel….. months in advance. Haha

Too bad though. I was hoping the TB 12 method would stop all his hammy issues. Hope it’s not bad.

I never get too worried about Evans when he shows up on the injury list.

Kind of like Gholston. Both seem to always avoid major injury.

Why does the injury bug come to pay a visit every time the Bucs receive good news?

Julio Jones hype turned into Ryan Jensen Nightmare

    Chris Godwin Returns, Evans Hurt

    GO AWAY INJURY BUG

  7. Jerry Says:

    Who didn’t see that coming?

  8. PassingThru Says:

It’s an annual event. At least Bowles said “tweak” rather than “tear” which would imply something more serious than a strain.

I tweaked my back sneezing this morning.

Wow the comments and negativity about Evans is absolutely insane and can’t be from real Bucs fans @Joe ? He’s one of the best and also a true pro that will be in the HOF, but now he’s an always injured and people saw it coming .. lol and some of these comments are so pathetic
